The development of an optoelectronic on-line carbon dioxide partial pressure probe
Rainer Buchholz,Dirk ltzek,Torsten Steinau,Michael Dieckmann 동서대학교부설연구소 1997 연구소 논문집 Vol.2 No.-
In this work a prototype for an optoelectronic on-line carbon dioxide partial pressure probe was developed. The mechanical arranngement of the optival and optoelectronical compounds was as well as simple, resulting in no changes due to the signal induced by the temperature effects. The resolution for the field of biotechnology with a measuring range from 0 to 100 mbar is at the moment 1.1 mbar with an accuracy of +/- 3 mbar. For the fie이 of beverage industries with a measuring range from 0to 4 bar the resolution is 4 mvar with an accuracy of =/- 25 mbar. The 90% response time by the application of a fibre with a diameter of 1000 microns and a silicone membrance with a thickness of 300 microns is about 8 min. Possibilities were shown to decrease the response time.
Musculoskeletal Disorders in Northeast Lobstermen
Fulmer, Scott,Buchholz, Bryan,Scribani, Melissa,Jenkins, Paul Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute 2017 Safety and health at work Vol.8 No.3
Background: The objective of this study was to report on the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain in lobstermen in the northeast USA. Methods: Crews were randomly selected from those licensed to fish in Maine and Massachusetts and followed prospectively. The survey used a Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire format to characterize musculoskeletal disorders. Results: A total of 395 individuals participated. One half of the respondents reported low back pain. Back pain was attributed to or exacerbated by lobstering. Low back pain was prevalent among both captains and sternmen, while sternmen reported more hand/wrist pain than captains. Multiple locations for pain were common in individual participants. Conclusion: Equipment or technology to assist material handling should be a priority, as the body segments with high prevalence of pain (back, hand/wrists, shoulders, knees) are all affected by the repetitive and forceful handling of the lobster traps.

Mass Production of HzSNPV Baculoviruses in Immobilized Heliothis zea (HzAM1) Insect Cell Culture
Son Jeong Hwa,Buchholz Rainer,Kim Sung-Koo The Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengine 2004 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.9 No.5
Heliothis zea (HzAM1) insect cells were immobilized in microspheres by sodium-cellulosesulfate (NaCS) and polydiallyldimethylammoniumchloride (PDADMAC). The highest HzAMl cell density was $7.5{\times}10^7$ cells/mL in the microspheres. After infection of the immobilized cells by Heliothis zea single nuclear polyhedrosis virus (HzSNPV), the highest concentration of HzSNPV (polyhedral inclusion bodies: PIBs) produced was $2.87{\times}10^{10}$ PIBs/mL in the microspheres.
