Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of different topical/systemic agents in reducing the damage caused by bleaching gel to pulp tissue or cells. Materials and Methods: Electronic searches were performed in July 2023. In vivo and in vitro studies evaluating the effects of different topical or systemic agents on pulp inflammation or cytotoxicity after exposure to bleaching agents were included. The risk of bias was assessed. Results: Out of 1,112 articles, 27 were included. Nine animal studies evaluated remineralizing/anti-inflammatories agents in rat molars subjected to bleaching with 35%– 38% hydrogen peroxide (HP). Five of these studies demonstrated a significant reduction in inflammation caused by HP when combined with bioglass or MI Paste Plus (GC America), or following KF-desensitizing or Otosporin treatment (n = 3). However, orally administered drugs did not reduce pulp inflammation (n = 4). Cytotoxicity (n = 17) was primarily assessed using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay on human dental pulp cells and mouse dental papilla Cell-23 cells. Certain substances, including sodium ascorbate, butein, manganese chloride, and peroxidase, were found to reduce cytotoxicity, particularly when applied prior to bleaching. The risk of bias was high in animal studies and low in laboratory studies. Conclusions: Few in vivo studies have evaluated agents to reduce the damage caused by bleaching gel to pulp tissue. Within the limitations of these studies, it was found that topical agents were effective in reducing pulp inflammation in animals and cytotoxicity. Further analyses with human pulp are required to substantiate these findings.
Some isoperimetric inequalities and eigenvalue estimates in weighted manifolds

In this paper we prove general inequalities involving the weighted mean curvature of compact submanifolds immersed in weighted manifolds. As a consequence we obtain a relative linear isoperimetric inequality for such submanifolds. We also prove an extrinsic upper bound to the first non-zero eigenvalue of the drift Laplacian on closed submanifolds of weighted manifolds.
Characterization of the BolA Homolog IbaG: A New Gene Involved in Acid Resistance

BolA protein homologs are widely distributed in nature. In this report, we have studied for the first time YrbA, the only BolA homolog present in Escherichia coli, which we have renamed ibaG. We have constructed single and multiple ibaG mutants, and overexpressed ibaG in wildtype strains, in order to characterize this gene. The ibaG phenotypes are different from the bolA-associated round morphologies or growth profiles. Interestingly, ibaG and bolA single- and double-deletion mutants grow faster and have higher viabilities in rich media, whereas the overexpressed strains are significantly growth impaired. However, the mutant strains have lower viabilities than the wild type in the late stationary phase, indicating that both bolA and ibaG are important for survival in difficult growth conditions. bolA, as a transcription factor, binds to some promoters, but ibaG does not interact with the same DNA regions. We have determined that ibaG is transcribed in an operon with the murA gene, involved in the synthesis of peptidoglycan precursors. ibaG was also seen to change its mRNA expression pattern in response to acidic stress. ibaG may thus represent a new gene involved in cell resistance against acid stress.
Implications of strong intergalactic magnetic fields for ultrahigh-energy cosmic-ray astronomy

<P>We study the propagation of ultrahigh-energy cosmic rays in the magnetized cosmic web. We focus on the particular case of highly magnetized voids (B similar to nG), using the upper bounds from the Planck satellite. The cosmic web was obtained from purely magnetohydrodynamical cosmological simulations of structure formation considering different power spectra for the seed magnetic field in order to account for theoretical uncertainties. We investigate the impact of these uncertainties on the propagation of cosmic rays, showing that they can affect the measured spectrum and composition by up to. similar or equal to 80% and. similar or equal to 5%, respectively. In our scenarios, even if magnetic fields in voids are strong, deflections of 50 EeV protons from sources closer than similar to 50 Mpc are less than 15 degrees in approximately 10-50% of the sky, depending on the distribution of sources and magnetic power spectrum. Therefore, UHECR astronomy might be possible in a significant portion of the sky depending on the primordial magnetic power spectrum, provided that protons constitute a sizeable fraction of the observed UHECR flux.</P>

Smart metering systems have become widespread around the world. RF mesh communication systems have contributed to the creation of smarter and more reliable power systems. This paper presents an algorithm for positioning GPRS concentrators to attain delay constraints for a ZigBee-based mesh network. The proposed algorithm determines the number and placement of concentrators using integer linear programming and a queueing model for the given mesh network. The solutions given by the proposed algorithm are validated by verifying the communication network performance through simulations.
Accurate Mixed Electrical and Electromagnetic Model of a 6,5㎸ IGBT Module

The compact model development of a 6,5㎸ field-stop IGBT module is presented. In particular, the model considers the realistic interconnection of IGBTs and anti-parallel diodes found in commercial modules, providing, next to semiconductor physics, an accurate description of electro-magnetic (EM) phenomena associated with the package and layout. A selection of simulation examples demonstrates the usefulness of the proposed solution.

This study introduces a method to measure the implementation of the training strategy of entrepreneurship competence as a contribution to the integrity and quality of future graduates from any higher education institutions. For this purpose, the theory of plithogenic sets was applied. These sets were defined to model concepts arising from the dynamic interaction of other simpler ones, which may have contradictions among each other and include neutralities or indeterminacies. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that plithogenic sets are applied in the mathematical modeling of entrepreneurship competence or any other pedagogic competence. The plithogenic numbers are represented and applied to SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis. This method was successfully applied at the University of Guayaquil, Ecuador. It is a simple method that includes an assessment based on linguistic terms and indeterminacies.
