<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>LiNi<SUB>0.5</SUB>Mn<SUB>1.5</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> (LNMO) cathode thin films were prepared on Pt-coated stainless steel (SS) substrates by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering. The layers were post-annealed at 500, 600 and 700 °C to study the impact of thermal treatment on the crystallization of the cathode material. As the annealing temperature increases, interdiffusion occurs between the substrate and the LNMO film, which degrades the electrochemical properties of the cathode film. In order to mitigate this problem, an In-Sn-O (ITO) interlayer was introduced between Pt and the SS substrate. The ITO film is electrochemically stable and acts as an effective diffusion barrier between the substrate and the LNMO layer, which results in improved electrochemical properties of the LNMO film for a lithium ion battery.</P>
국내 유통 어린이 및 무기 자외선차단제에서 자외선 차단성분, 보존제 및 중금속 실태 조사

본 연구에서는 국내 유통 중인 민감성 피부 대상 자외선 차단제의 안전성 조사를 위해 무기 자외선 차단제 27 건 및 어린이용 자외선 차단제 23 건을 수거하여 자외선 차단 성분 17 종, 보존제 13 종 및 중금속 5 종의 사용 및 혼입 실태을 조사하였다. 그 결과 자외선 차단 성분은 티타늄디옥사이드(41 건), 징크옥사이드(29 건), 비스-에칠헥실옥시페놀메톡시페닐트리아진(10 건) 에칠헥실살리실레이트(8 건) 및 에칠헥실메톡시신나메이트(8 건)순으로 검출되었으며, 보존제는 페녹시에탄올(6 건), 안식향산(1 건), 디히드로초산(1 건) 순으로 검출되었다. 확인된 자외선 차단성분은 모두 표시 사항에 적합 하였으나, 1 개 제품에서 표시사항 외 보존제 성분인 페녹시에탄올이 0.1% 농도로 검출되었다. 중금속 납, 카드뮴, 비소, 안티몬, 니켈은 불검출에서 3.6 μg/g로 다양한 농도로 검출되었다. 이번 연구에서 확인된 자외선 차단성분, 보존제 및 중금속은 화장품 안전기준 등에 관한 규정의 성분별 최대 배합한도 및 최대 허용량 기준에 적합하였다. In this study, 27 inorganic sunscreens and 23 sunscreens for children were collected to investigate the use and incorporation of 17 types of sunscreen agents, 13 types of preservatives, and 5 types of heavy metals. As a result, sunscreen agents were detected in the order of titanium dioxide (41 cases), zinc oxide (29 cases), bis-ethylhexyloxyphenyltriazine (10 cases), ethylhexyl salicylate (8 cases), and ethylhexylmethoxynamate (8 cases), and preservatives were detected in order of phenoxyethanol (6 cases), benzoic acid (1 case), and dihydroacetic acid(1 case). All of the identified sunscreen agents were suitable for labeling, but phenoxyethanol, a preservative component other than labeling, was detected at a concentration of 0.1%. Heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, arsenic, antimony, and nickel were not detected or were detected at various concentrations of less than 3.6 μg/g. All the detected UV filters, preservatives, and heavy metals were less than the allowed maximum amount stipulated by the Regulations on Cosmetic Safety Standards in Korea.

In this paper, we find the coefficients for the Weierstrass ${\wp}(x)$ and ${\wp}^{{\prime}{\prime}}(x)$($x=\frac{1}{2}$, $\frac{\tau}{2}$, $\frac{\tau+1}{2}$)-functions in terms of the arithmetic identities appearing in divisor functions which are proved by Ramanujan ([23]). Finally, we reprove congruences for the functions ${\mu}(n)$ and ${\nu}(n)$ in Hahn's article [11, Theorems 6.1 and 6.2].

Let ${\sigma}_s(N)$ denote the sum of the sth powers of the positive divisors of a positive integer N and let $\tilde{\sigma}_s(N)={\sum}_{d|N}(-1)^{d-1}d^s$ with $d$, N, and s positive integers. Hahn [12] proved that $$16\sum_{k<N}\tilde{\sigma}_1(k)\tilde{\sigma}_3(N-k)=-\tilde{\sigma}_5(N)+2(N-1)\tilde{\sigma}_3(N)+\tilde{\sigma}_1(N)$$. In this paper, we give a generalization of Hahn's result. Furthermore, we find the formula ${\sum}_{k=1}^{N-1}\tilde{\sigma}_1(2^{n-m}k)\tilde{\sigma}_3(2^nN-2^nk)$ for $m(0{\leq}m{\leq}n)$.
Dissemination and tracking of Salmonella spp. in integrated broiler operation

Controlling Salmonella in integrated broiler operation is complicated because there are numerous potential sources of Salmonella contamination, including chicks, feed, rodents, wild poultry operations, and the processing plant. The objective of this study was to investigate the distribution of Salmonella through all phases of two integrated broiler operations and to determine the key areas related to the control of all known sources of infection. Two different Salmonella serotypes were observed at integrated broiler chicken company A. S. enteritidis, the predominant company A isolate, was consistently found in the breeder farm, hatcheries, broiler farms, and chicken slaughterhouse. At company B, a total of six different serotypes, S. heidelberg, S. senftenberg, S. enteritidis, S. blockley, S. gallinarum, and S. virchow, were detected. Although S. heidelberg was not found in the broiler farms, it was consistently found in the breeder farm, hatcheries, and chicken slaughterhouse. In addition, S. enteritidis was found in the hatcheries, broiler farm, and chicken slaughterhouse. In order to obtain the genetic clonality, 22 S. enteritidis isolates were digested with XbaI and analyzed by pulsed-field gel electrohporesis (PFGE). A difference in the PFGE pattern was found to be related to the origin of the integrated broiler operation. These data support the critical need to control Salmonella in breeder farms and hatcheries, and demonstrate important points related to the control of infection in large-scale poultry operations of Korea.
Mechanical and electrical properties of NbMoTaW refractory high-entropy alloy thin films

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Refractory high-entropy alloys (RHEAs) have opened a new chapter in the development of structural materials for use at high temperatures owing to their outstanding mechanical properties and thermal stability. In this study, we developed a NbMoTaW RHEA thin film via direct current magnetron sputtering from a single target that was synthesized by sintering a mixture of multiple elemental powders. The as-deposited thin film exhibited a single nanocrystalline solid-solution phase with body-centered cubic structure. Moreover, the film had a high hardness of 12 GPa and electrical resistivity of 168 μΩ·cm due to severe lattice distortion and the presence of nanoscale grains. Hence, RHEA films can be used as a hard coating for protective layers and as electrical resistors in nanofabricated devices owing to their favorable combination of hardness and electrical resistivity.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> NbMoTaW RHEA thin films was produced via DC magnetron sputtering from a single target. </LI> <LI> The NbMoTaW thin film presented a single solid-solution phase with a BCC structure. </LI> <LI> The constituent elements of the NbMoTaW RHEA was uniformly distributed in the film. </LI> <LI> The NbMoTaW thin film revealed high hardness of 12 GPa and electrical resistivity of 168 μΩ·cm. </LI> </UL> </P>
Anti-JC virus antibodies in rituximab-treated patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder.

<P>Rituximab, a chimeric monoclonal anti-CD20 antibody, has been proposed to be effective for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). A concern for developing progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), which is caused by John Cunningham virus (JCV), has been suggested particularly in patients treated long term with rituximab. In this study, using a modified enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay with glutathione S-transferase-tagged VP1 as the antigen, we investigated the seroprevalence of anti-JCV antibodies among 78 Korean patients with NMOSD and the change in anti-JCV antibody serostatus following long-term rituximab treatment. The overall seroprevalence of anti-JCV antibodies was 69 % prior to rituximab administration. Over a mean of 4 years of repeated treatment with rituximab, no patient developed PML. Of 24 initially seronegative patients, none converted into seropositive, whereas six (11 %) of 54 initially seropositive patients converted into seronegative. Our results might support the safety of long-term rituximab treatment in patients with NMOSD with regard to the risk of developing PML.</P>
