A note on Enstr\"{o}m-Kakeya theorem for quaternionic polynomials

        Adil Hussain 강원경기수학회 2022 한국수학논문집 Vol.30 No.3

In this paper, we are concerned with the problem of locating the zeros of regular polynomials of a quaternionic variable with quaternionic coefficients. We derive new bounds of Enestr\"{o}m-Kakeya type for the zeros of these polynomials by virtue of a maximum modulus theorem and the structure of the zero sets in the newly developed theory of regular functions and polynomials of a quaternionic variable. Our results generalize some recently proved results about the distribution of zeros of a quaternionic polynomial.

Realization of VANET-Based Cloud Services through Named Data Networking

Hussain, Rasheed,Bouk, Safdar H.,Javaid, Nadeem,Khan, Adil M.,Lee, Jooyoung Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 2018 IEEE communications magazine Vol.56 No.8

Connected car technology (also referred to as VANET) has gradually paved its way to legislation in several countries and soon will be followed by mass-scale deployment. However, the race between the advancements in technologies and utilization of the available resources have left a question mark on the future of pure VANET. Therefore, the research community together with academia and industry have foreseen the evolution of VANET into VANET-based clouds. The data- or content-centric communication paradigm is the point of convergence in these technologies because the content is shared among different nodes in different forms such as infotainment or safety. However, the current IP-based networking is not an ideal choice for content-centric applications because of its larger overhead for establishing, maintaining, and securing the path, addressing complexity, non-scalability for content, routing and mobility management overhead, and so on. Therefore, the limitations and shortcomings of current IP-based networking and the need for efficient content delivery advocate for a paradigm shift. To this end, a new content-centric networking paradigm, namely NDN, has been employed to address the aforementioned issues related to content-centric networking while using IP-based networking. In this article, we foresee the integration of VANET-based clouds with NDN called NDN-VC for reliable, efficient, robust, and safe intelligent transportation systems. We particularly aim at the architecture and concise naming mechanism for NDN-VC. Furthermore, we also outline the unique future challenges faced by the NDN-VC.

      • Structural detection of variation in Poisson's ratio: Monitoring system for zigzag double walled carbon nanotubes

        Hussain, Muzamal,Asghar, Sehar,Ayed, Hamdi,Khadimallah, Mohamed A.,Alshoaibi, Adil,Tounsi, Abdelouahed Techno-Press 2022 Advances in nano research Vol.12 No.4

In this paper, natural frequency curves are presented for three specific end supports considering distinct values of nonlocal parameter. The vibrational behavior of zigzag double walled carbon nanotubes is investigated using wave propagation with nonlocal effect. Frequency spectra of zigzag (12, 0) double walled carbon nanotubes have been analyzed with proposed model. Effects of nonlocal parameters have been fully investigated on the natural frequency against against variation of Poisson's ratio. A slow increase in frequencies against variation of Poisson's ratio also indicates insensitivity of it for suggested nonlocal model. Moreover, decrease in frequencies with increase in nonlocal parameter authenticates the applicability of nonlocal Love shell model. Also the frequency curves for C-F are lower throughout the computation than that of C-C curves.

      • Actual fatigue reliability of structural material: Vibration efficiency

        Hussain, Muzamal,Khadimallah, Mohamed A.,Ayed, Hamdi,Alshoaibi, Adil,Loukil, Hassen,Alsoruji, Ghazi,Tounsi, Abdelouahed Techno-Press 2022 Advances in concrete construction Vol.13 No.4

This paper is concerned with the vibration analysis of middle layer cylindrical shell made of functionally graded material. The outer layers and inner layer are composed of functionally graded and isotropic material respectively. The Rayleigh Ritz method is applied to solve the presented shell dynamics equations. Two configurations are constructed with layers distributions. Fundamental natural frequencies of the three layered cylindrical shell is plotted against the circumferential wave number with different power law exponents. The frequency decreases with the increase of power law exponent. The fundamental natural frequencies first decreases and fall down to its minimum value, after frequencies increases with circumferential wave number. This is due to change in the magnitude of extensional and bending energies of the cylindrical shells. The computer software MATLAB has been employed for the computation of presented frequencies and tested the results obtained in order to assess the accuracy and validity of the cylindrical shell model for predicting the vibration frequencies of cylindrical shell.

Nizwaside: a new anticancer pregnane glycoside from the sap of Desmidorchis flava

        Hidayat Hussain,Ahmed Al-Harrasi,Muhammad Adil Raees,Najeeb Ur Rehman,Ahmed Al-Rawahi,Rene´ Csuk,Husain Yar Khan,Ghulam Abbas,Mohammed Abdullah Al-Broumi,Ivan R. Green,Ali Elyassi,Talat Mahmood 대한약학회 2015 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.38 No.12

The sap from the succulent Desmidorchis flava (N.E.Br) Meve and Liede yielded a new pregnane glycoside, named nizwaside whose structure was established using 1D and 2D NMR techniques as well as mass spectrometry (ESIMS). Nizwaside was tested for anticancer, DPPH antioxidant, urease enzyme inhibition, a-glucosidase enzyme inhibition and acetylcholinesterase inhibition activities. Interestingly, nizwaside showed significant anti-proliferative effects on MDA MB231 breast cancer cells with an IC50 of 23.5 lg/ml. Moreover, nizwaside was more effective than Doxorubicin, a wellknown clinical anticancer drug, in suppressing MDA MB231 cell proliferation even at concentrations lower than that of Doxorubicin (75 lg/ml nizwaside vs. 100 lg/ml Doxorubicin). On the other hand, nizwaside showed relatively weak antioxidant activity with 15 % inhibition.

      • A system of several fraction laws for the identification of rotating response of FG shell

        Yahya, Ahmad,Hussain, Muzamal,Khadimallah, Mohamed A.,Khedher, Khaled Mohamed,Al-Basyouni, K.S.,Ghandourah, Emad,Banoqitah, Essam Mohammed,Alshoaibi, Adil Techno-Press 2022 Advances in concrete construction Vol.13 No.3

The problem is formulated by applying the Kirchhoff's conception for shell theory. The longitudinal modal displacement functions are assessed by characteristic beam ones meet clamped-clamped end conditions applied at the shell edges. The fundamental natural frequency of rotating functionally graded cylindrical shells of different parameter versus ratios of length-to-diameter and height-to-diameter for a wide range has been reported and investigated through the study with fractions laws. The frequency first increases and gain maximum value with the increase of circumferential wave mode. By increasing different value of height-to-radius ratio, the resulting backward and forward frequencies increase and frequencies decrease on increasing height-to-radius ratio. Moreover, on increasing the rotating speed, the backward frequencies increases and forward frequencies decreases. The trigonometric frequencies are lower than that of exponential and polynomial frequencies. Stability of a cylindrical shell depends highly on these aspects of material. More the shell material sustains a load due to physical situations, the more the shell is stable. Any predicted fatigue due to burden of vibrations is evaded by estimating their dynamical aspects.

      • Structural monitoring of layered FGM distribution ring support: Analysis with and without internal pressure

        Ghamkhar, Madiha,Harbaoui, Imene,Hussain, Muzamal,Ayed, Hamdi,Khadimallah, Mohamed A.,Alshoaibi, Adil Techno-Press 2022 Advances in nano research Vol.12 No.3

In this work, the vibrational frequency of two layered FGM cylindrical shell with and without the effects of internal pressure under ring support are discussed in detailed. The functionally graded materials of a cylindrical shell are designed for specific purpose and studied under various boundary conditions. The Love shell dynamical equations theory is utilized to find the relationship between the curvature displacement and strain displacement. Natural frequency vibrations are analyzed by using volume polynomial for bi-layered FGM shell under ring support both for with and without internal pressures.

      • GSTP1 Gene Ile105Val Polymorphism Causes an Elevated Risk for Bladder Carcinogenesis in Smokers

Pandith, Arshad Ahmad,Lateef, Adil,Shahnawaz, Sheikh,Hussain, Aashaq,Malla, Tahir Mohiuddin,Azad, Niyaz,Shehjar, Fahim,Salim, Mosin,Shah, Zafar Amin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.11

Background: The glutathione S transferase (GST) family of enzymes plays a vital role in the phase II biotransformation of environmental carcinogens, pollutants, drugs and other xenobiotics. GSTs are polymorphic and polymorphisms in GST genes have been associated with cancer susceptibility and prognosis. GSTP1 is associated with risk of various cancers including bladder cancer. A case control study was conducted to determine the genotype distribution of GSTP1 A>G SNP, to elucidate the possible role of this SNP as a risk factor in urinary bladder cancer (UBC) development and to examine its correlation with clinico-pathologic variables inUBC cases. Materials and Methods: Using the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) approach, we tested the genotype distribution of 180 bladder cancer patients in comparison with 210 cancer-free controls from the same geographical region with matched frequency in age and gender. Results: We did not observe significant genotype differences between the control and bladder cancer patients overall with an odds ratio (OR)=1.23 (p>0.05). The rare allele (AG+GG) was found to be present more in cases (28.3%) than in controls (24%), though the association was not significant (p<0.05). However, a significant risk of more than 2-fold was found for the variant allele (AG+GG) with smokers in cases as compared to controls (p>0.05). Conclusions: Thus, it is evident from our study that GSTP1 SNP is not implicated overall in bladder cancer, but that the rare, valine-related allele is connected with higher susceptibility to bladder cancer in smokers and also males.

      • Profile and Time-Scale Dynamics of Differentially Expressed Genes in Transcriptome of Populus davidiana Under Drought Stress

        Mun, Bong-Gyu,Hussain, Adil,Park, Eung-Jun,Lee, Sang-Uk,Sharma, Arti,Imran, Qari Muhammad,Jung, Ki-Hong,Yun, Byung-Wook Springer-Verlag 2017 Plant molecular biology reporter Vol.35 No.6

The genus Populus contains 25-35 species of deciduous flowering plants in the family Salicaceae. It has evolved to overcome various environmental stresses including drought stress through changes in physiological processes such a stomatal movement, photosynthesis, stress signaling, defense responses, and overall growth rate. In this study, we performed RNA-seq-based transcriptome profiling of Populus davidiana in response to drought stress induced by 10% PEG at two time points (6 and 12 h). We generated over 527 million reads by applying Populus trichocarpa as reference genome. Assembly of the reads yielded 32,650 genes and 75,820 transcripts; of these, after quantile normalization, a total of 997 genes were identified with dynamic expression over time, classifying them into nine different clusters. Among them, 550 genes responded significantly to drought stress treatment after 6 h (108 genes up-regulated and 201 genes down-regulated) and 12 h (161 up-regulated and 80 down-regulated) respectively, with at least twofold change in their expression. Based on analysis of these genes, we found several differentially expressed genes (DEGs) involved in cellular transport, transcriptional regulation, protein modification, regulation of cellular redox state, and those involved in response to other stresses. We also validated RNA-seq-mediated transcriptome data by RT-qPCR analysis of eight randomly selected DEGs. It showed significantly high correlation coefficient (0.95) suggesting high reliability of RNA-seq analysis. This study presents the first RNA-seq mediated transcriptome profile of P. davidiana in response to drought stress, providing critical information necessary for understanding the mechanisms underpinning drought stress tolerance in forest trees and other plant species.

      • A simplified directly determination of natural frequencies of CNT: Via aspect ratio

        Banoqitah, Essam Mohammed,Hussain, Muzamal,Khadimallah, Mohamed A.,Ghandourah, Emad,Yahya, Ahmad,Basha, Muhammad,Alshoaibi, Adil Techno-Press 2022 Advances in nano research Vol.13 No.3

In this paper, a novel model is developed for frequency behavior of single walled carbon nanotubes. The governing equation of motion is constructed method based on the Sander theory using Rayleigh-Ritz's method The frequencies enhances on increasing the power law index using simply supported, clamped and clamped free end conditions. The frequency curve for C-F is less than other conditions. It is due to the physical constraints which are applied on the edge of the CNT. It is observed that the C-F boundary condition have less frequencies from the other two conditions. The frequency phenomena for zigzag are insignificant throughout the aspect ratio. Moreover when index of power law is increased then frequencies increases for all boundary conditions. The natural frequency mechanism for the armchair (10, 10) for various values of power law index with different boundary conditions is investigated. Here frequencies decrease on increases the aspect ratio for all boundary conditions. The frequency curves of SS-SS edge condition is composed between the C-C and C-F conditions. The curves of frequency are less significant from small aspect ratio (L/d = 4.86 ~ 8.47) and decreases fast for greater ratios. It is found that the frequencies via aspect ratios, armchair (10, 10) have higher values from zigzag (10, 0). It is due to the material structure which is made by the carbon nanotubes. The power law index have momentous effect on the vibration of single walled carbon nanotubes. The present frequency result is also compared numerically experimentally with Raman Spectroscopy.
