This paper investigated the impact of financial integration on economic development using the dynamic panel quantile estimator on a sample of 95 countries from 2004-2019. The results showed that the impact of financial integration on economic development varied across income levels. This study found that financial integration impacted economic development negatively in middle and high-income countries. However, financial integration did not significantly affect economic development in low-income countries.
Simultaneous removal of particulates and NO by the catalytic bag filter containing V2O5-MoO3/TiO2

V2O5-MoO3/TiO2 based catalytic bag filters were developed for the simultaneous removal of particulates and NO in the temperature range of 200-250 oC. Good denitrification activity, dedust efficiency as well as high adhesion strength in the temperature range of 200-250 oC was exhibited. The study of catalyst powder for coating revealed that the increased V and Mo content in catalyst can elevate the low-temperature activity, and the chosen V10Mo10 sample for coating showed the best activity with 100% NO conversion at just 180 oC. The further research on catalytic bag filter found the low ratio of PTFE, high loading and long residence time (e.g., low filtration velocity or double layer filter) may help to achieve high DeNOx efficiency. The best performance was obtained with above 80% NO conversion at 200-250 oC even in the presence of SO2/H2O and 99.9% dust collection efficiency on the condition of 500 g/m2 loading, 10% PTFE, 0.5m/ min filtration velocity and double layers of filter, which demonstrated great feasibility for industrial application.
Potential of Using Ginger Essential Oils-Based Nanotechnology to Control Tropical Plant Diseases

Essential oils (EOs) have gained a renewed interest in many disciplines such as plant disease control and medicine. This review discusses the components of ginger EOs, their mode of action, and their potential nanotechnology applications in controlling tropical plant diseases. Gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS), high-performance liquid chromatography, and headspace procedures are commonly used to detect and profile their chemical compositions EOs in ginger. The ginger EOs are composed of monoterpenes (transcaryophyllene, camphene, geranial, eucalyptol, and neral) and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (α-zingiberene, ar-curcumene, β-bisabolene, and β-sesquiphellandrene). GC-MS analysis of the EOs revealed many compounds but few compounds were revealed using the headspace approach. The EOs have a wide range of activities against many phytopathogens. EOs mode of action affects both the pathogen cell’s external envelope and internal structures. The problems associated with solubility and stability of EOs had prompted the use nanotechnology such as nanoemulsions. The use of nanoemulsion to increase efficiency and supply of EOs to control plant diseases control was discussed in this present paper. The findings of this review paper may accelerate the effective use of ginger EOs in controlling tropical plant diseases.
Hybrid Encryption of ElGamal-AES with Huffman Coding for Efficient Data Communication

Information security or data transmission efficiency and reliability are unanimously considered as some of the most important things that are required whenever communication between parties is to be established. Inefficient data security and improper management of voluminous data during data communication increases data transmission cost, delay in data transmission, and risk of confidentiality and privacy to the transmitted data. Thus, this paper proposes an improved cryptosystem to ensure reliability and efficiency to data in communication channel. The work adopted two cryptographic methods (ElGamal cryptosystem) for the asymmetric key distribution; Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) was suggested for message encryption. In the other hand, Huffman coding (compression algorithm) was introduced along the way to reduce the size of the data to be transmitted. The results of our proposed scheme show that the entropy ensures reliability and encryption time ensures efficiency to data in communication channel. This hybrid scheme is promising with a potential of improving data security.

Background: This study was designed to determine the hepatoprotective effect of partially purified fractions from Pterocarpus mildbraedii extract on carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) intoxicated rats. Methods: The methanol extract of P. mildbraedii was subjected to solvent partitioning using n-hexane, chloroform, ethylacetate and water. Separation of fractions with proven antioxidant activity was achieved by chromatographic techniques. Acute toxicity and hepatoprotective studies of the methanol sub-fraction 6 (Me 6), methanol sub-fraction 7 (Me 7) and methanol sub-fraction 8 (Me 8) from P. mildbraedii extract on carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) intoxicated Wister rats. Results: Intoxication of rats with CCl4 resulted in significant (p < 0.05) increase in the activities of aspartate transferase (AST), alanine transferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), level of malondialdehyde (MDA) while glutathione (GSH) concentration, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activities were decreased. Administration of Me6, Me7 and Me8 sub-fractions of P. mildbraedii caused a significant reduction (p > 0.05) in the activities of the liver enzymes, MDA level, total and direct bilirubin in dose-dependent manner. There were significant (p < 0.05) increases in GSH concentration, SOD, CAT, and Gpx activities in the treated groups. The subfractions also restored the damaged hepatic-architecture in the treated groups. Conclusion: Therefore, Me6, Me7 and Me8 leaf sub-fractions of P. mildbraedii extract have hepatoprotective effect. Therefore, this vegetable can further be exploited as a source of drug/supplement development in the prevention and treatment of liver damage.
Dengue Virus is Hyperendemic in Nigeria from 2009 to 2020: A Contemporary Systematic Review

Backround: Data on Dengue virus (DENV) infection prevalence, geographic distribution and risk factors are necessary to direct appropriate utilization of existing and emerging control strategies. This study aimed to determine the pooled prevalence, risk factors of DENV infection and the circulating serotypes within Nigeria from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2020. Materials and methods: Twenty-one studies out of 2,215 available articles were eligible and included for this systematic review. Relevant articles were searched, screened and included in this study according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and MetaAnalyses (PRISMA) criteria. The risk of bias in primary studies was assessed by Cochrane's method. Heterogeneity of pooled prevalence was calculated using the chi-square test on Cochrane's Q statistic, which was quantified by I-square values. The random-effects analyses of proportions were used to determine the pooled prevalence of DENV antibodies, antigen and RNA from eligible studies. Results: Of these, 3 studies reported co-circulation of all the 4 serotypes, while 2 separately reported co-circulation of DENV-1 &2 and DENV-1 to -3. All the antibody-based studies had significantly high heterogeneity (I2 >90%, P <0.05), while the NS1 and PCR-based studies had low heterogeneity (I2 <25%, P >0.05). The pooled prevalence of DENV IgM, IgG, RNA, NS1 and neutralizing antibodies were 16.8%, 34.7%, 7.7%, 7.7% and 0.7%, respectively. Southeast Nigeria had the highest pooled DENV-IgG seropositivity, 77.1%. Marital status, gender, educational level and occupation status, the proximity of residence to refuse dumpsite, frequent use of trousers and long sleeve shirts were significantly associated with DENV IgG seropositivity (P <0.05). Conclusion: Based on these findings, it can be inferred that Nigeria is hyperendemic for Dengue fever and needs concerted efforts to control its spread within and outside the country.
