血淸 Gamma-Globulin의 2-Mercapto-Ethanol 感受性에 關한 觀察

The effect of 2-Mercapto-Ethanol(2ME) on serum gamma globulin of 2months to 15months o age was experimented by hemagglutination-inhibition (H-I) antibody titration against Japanese . encephalitis virus(J.E.V). Gamma globulin is divided to 19 S & 7 S gamma globulin by their molecular weight (19 S: 900, 000^-1, 000, 000, 7S: 150, 000)- Immunologically, 7 S gamma globulin is more significant which has permanent antibody than 19 S gamma globulin which has temporal antibody only. Right after vaccination or infection, 19 S gamma globulin aFFears for 1-x-3 weeks followed by 7`S gamma globulin or Permanent antibody appearance. 2 ME irzctivates 19 S gamma globulin dropping the antibody titer. The serum gammaglobulin which contains higher 7S gamma globulin was less inactivated by 2 ME. This, we may call 2 ME resistant, on the contrary the serum contains higher 19 S gamma globulin was more inactivated and we may call as ISME sensitive. From the experiment the transmission from 2ME resistant to 2ME sensitive, seemed to be 5months of age. In other words, maternal serum gamma globulin, especially 7 S gamma globulin which is 2ME resistant and immunologically significant starts to drop the antibody titer at 5 months of age.

On the purpose of the comparison between different ages and the cell renewal frequencies of the epidermal cells from the several skin regions, such as the anterior abdominal, back, and auricular in various age groups(suckling young, young adult. and old adult) have been determined by means of a microradioautography after the intraperitoneal administration of single dose of the tritiated thymidine, 0.8 microcurie per gram of body weight. Sixty-seven mice (of which 29 were male and the rest of them were female) were used, and put into six groups, age ranging from 4-day-old suckling young to more than 50-week-old mature adult. 1. The highly active cell renewal patterns in the epidermal cells of the 4-day-old and one-week old groups were contrasted with less active in those of 2-week old and 3-week-old groups of suckling young, while moderately active cell renewal frequencies have been observed in those of the mature groups. 2. The fluctuation of the cell renewal system, particularly in mature female group either the young's or the old's, seems to be influenced by the ovarian cycle, since such kind of the fluctuation have not been observed in those of the male. 3. In the anterior abdominal skin comparatively active cell renewal pattern was investigated in both the those of diestrous youg adult and estrous old adult groups. In the back skin, however, those of diestrous young adult and diestrous old adult female groups were active, while those of the estrous subjects were occurred in the auricular skin.
