본 연구의 목적은 한국 문화의 대표 속성인 인간이 맺고 있는 관계 속에서 가치를 구하는 관계론의 입장에서, 집단 열광 경험의 구성요인을 파악하고자 하였다. 연구방법으로는 집단열광 경험의 실증사례로서 롯데자이언츠의 응원집단을 대상으로 하였으며, 집단열광과 한국문화 관련 문헌고찰과 응원문화의 참여 및 비참여관찰, 열광팬 10명의 예비면담과 61명의 구조적 심층면담을 실시하였다. 탐색된 집단열광의 구성요인은 16명의 열광팬으로부터 검증을 받았다. 본 연구에서 도출한 집단열광의 의미는 ‘하나의 공동 목적을 위해 모인 사람과 사람이 만남과 공감을 소통하는 가운데 발현되는 긍정적인 에너지’이다. 집단열광의 구성요인은 6가지로 정체성, 신명, 몰입, 열정, 공감, 자기조직화로 나타났다. 집단열광의 효과는 개인적으로도 사회적으로도 긍정적인 효과를 가져오는 것으로 나타났다. 도출된 집단열광은 6가지 구성요인이 조화롭게 작동되는 메카니즘이다. 이러한 관계를 통해서 ‘우리가 우리’일 수 있고, 개인과 집단의 진화를 통한 개인과 집단의 성장과 발전을 거듭할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 한국 문화의 특성에 근거하여 한국인들의 집단열광을 분석하였다는 점과 도출된 집단열광의 요인을 조직이나 다양한 사회단체로의 전이를 위한 기초로서 탐색적 연구라는데 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study was to explore and verify the mechanism of group enthusiasm of Lotte Giants support culture in terms of the relationship perspective based on Korean culture. For this purpose, a review of the literatures of the Korean culture, participative and non-participative observations, preliminary interviews with 10 Lotte Giant fans and in-depth interviews with 51 fans were used. In addition, the factors of the mechanism developed through research were verified by 16 fans in terms of relevance and importance. The results of this study were summarized as follows. The meaning of group enthusiasm is defined a positive energy based on the relationship among people through interaction and sharing their feelings for individual, group, and societal grow and development. The group enthusiasm is realized through interactions among 6 factors: individual-group identity, high spirits, commitment, passion, sympathy, and self-organization. This study has a value to explore the factors of the group enthusiasm and the factors could be used as the basic reference for a diagnosis of group enthusiasm in organization or societal levels and a reference to enhancing group enthusiasm.
