In this paper, we describe construction of a wind stabilization demo-site and effects of output power control of wind turbines for suppression of ramp rate using ESS (Energy Storage System). It is difficult to control the output power of distributed generator such as wind turbine which of variation is very large. If the large capacity wind farm be interconnected into power system may cause blackout due to Power Quality. For these reasons, the international standards such as Grid-Code is limited to less than 10 [%/min] of renewable energy ramp rate. The case of Korea, government actively conducts propagating large-scale renewable energy for green growth policy, to interconnecting more renewable energy into power system is necessary for stabilization technology. For these reasons, the POSCO consortium has constructed a wind stabilization demo-site that is configured as 500 [kWh] battery energy storage systems can output up to 3 [C-Rate] and two wind turbines rated 750 [kW]. In POSCO consortium, which implements various methods stabilizing output power of wind turbine such as smoothing, section firming and ramp control, we derive the results of long-term demonstration that can be controlled to satisfy to the international standard about ramp rate [%/kW] of wind turbine output power.

Prediction algorithm of the energy storage system in accordance with the load pattern can cause economic loss in case of a failure prediction. In addition, algorithm that uses TOU(Time of Use) based on the revelation by the power electric charge which covers most simply is an inefficient operation because it is only for the purpose of reducing the peak power. In this paper, we introduced a non-prediction algorithm with a conventional TOU in order to solve this problem operating the energy storage system economic and efficient.
경제성 분석을 통한 산업용 수용가의 ESS 설치 용량 산정

In this paper, ESS capacity installed in industrial customer is calculated using economic analysis. To do this, electric charge for industrial customer is analyzed and power management system(PMS) of ESS is selected. Reduction of kW cost and kWh cost are set to ‘benefit’ according to operation of ESS. Also, installation cost and maintenance cost of ESS are set to ‘cost’. Proper ESS capacity is determined as a result of benefit-to-cost(B/C) analysis according to the variation of ESS installation cost. In case study, B/C is analyzed for the specific industrial customer and minimum capacity of ESS to make a profit are proposed for the customer.

스마트그리드는 기존의 전력제통 구성 및 운 영 방식과 다른 새로운 형태로 발전되고 있다. 규모가 큰 전력계통과 연계되어 운전될 복잡한 스마트그리드 전 력망이 전력공급 신뢰성 제고, 적정 전력품질 유지 및 전력 생산에서 소비에 이르기까지 경제성 보장 등이 가능한 형태로 구성될 수 있게 논리적이고 체제적인 분석 및 검토가 요구된다. 이를 위하여 전력계통의 정적 및 동적인 특성을 해석할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 구축 가능한 스마트그리드 전력망을 가정하여 전력계통 해석의 처음 과정인 조류계산 및 고장전류 계산을 실시하여 스마트그리드 계통연계 영향을 평가하고 스마트그리드 단독운전 방안을 수립하기 위한 안정도 해석 기본 자료로 이용한다.

The ESS is composed of Battery Package, PCS(Power Conditioning System) Package, BCU(BESS Control Unit). In Jeju smart grid test-bed, we have developed a business model by ESS power system, renewable energy, transportation, such as customers, and have demonstrated above things. We have analyzed the EMS(Energy Management System) model of KPX where manages supply and demand of domestic electrical power system. We modified and launched EMS for microgrid but the cost was expensive and the system was large size. For releasing this system from industry as a whole, it is imperative to develop PMS(Power Management System) for microgrid. However, the cost of EMS for microgrid is expensive, some systems because it is a large development of the all of the first fruits in urgent PMS(Power Management System) for microgrid to be used in industry in general. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the ESS model considering the power systems characteristics and extensibility in korea. and also we propose the PMS to manage the ESS systems.

Wind power generation system share of electric power system has been increasing gradually. Wind power generations are very irregular with varying characteristics associated negative impact on power quality in power system. Wind power generation systems and associated power distribution line voltage as a function of wind power to simulate the effects of static and dynamic analysis will examine the appropriate voltage improvement.
