Objectives:This study was conducted to evaluate the validity of the Antisocial Features(ANT) scale of the Personality Assessment Inventory(PAI) with Psychopathic Personality Inventory-Revised(PPI-R) total score to assess psychopathy in Korean criminal offenders with schizophrenia. Methods:The subjects included 177 inpatients with schizophrenia who committed crimes. All subjects filled out PPI-R and PAI. The statistics are carried out by SPSS version 17.0. Results:The result shows that ANT scores are correlated highly with the PPI-R total score(r=0.56). Of the three subscales of ANT ; Egocentricity(ANT-E), Stimulus Seeking(ANT-S), Antisocial Behavior(ANT-A), ANT-E(r=0.53) and ANT-S(r=0.56) subscales showed strong correlations with PPI-R total score, and ANT-A (r=0.38) subscale was moderately associated with PPI-R total score. Among the 8 subscales of PPI-R, Rebellious Nonconformity(RN), Machiavellian Egocentricity(ME), Blame Externalization(BE) subscales were relatively strongly correlated with PAI scales ; ANT, ANT-E, and ANT-S. Between 2 factors of PPI-R, Self-Centered Impulsivity(SCI) factor showed relatively powerful association with ANT scale of PAI. ROC curve for ANT with PPI-R diagnoses of psychopathy tells that ANT scale dose not seem to make categorical prediction of psychopathy on PPI-R. Conclusions:ANT scale of PAI tapped primarily behavioral symptoms of psychopathy rather than interpersonal and affective symptoms. Despite of strong correlation between PPI-R total score and ANT score of PAI, the result of ROC curve suggests that it might be better to use ANT score as dimensional measure of psychopathy rather than categorical, in Korean criminal offenders with schizophrenia.

Objectives:This study was conducted to investigate if the neurological soft signs and dysfunction of frontal execution would be a potential marker of neurodevelopmental abnormalities in individuals with schizophrenia. Methods:We examined subjects using the Neurological Evaluation Scale(NES) and EXIT of Kims frontal executive neuropsychological test in 20 patients with schizophrenia, 20 of their first relatives, and 20 normal controls. Results:In terms of NES, it showed significant difference in Motor Coordination and Sequencing complex motor acts(Patients≥Relatives≥Controls) and Others of NES showed more frequently in Patients than Relatives and Controls. However, there is no difference in sensory Integration among the three groups. Total score of NES were the greatest in patients with schizophrenia, first degree Relatives had intermediate score(Patients>Relatives>Controls) (p<.0001). In regards to the quantity test of EXIT, Stroop, Word fluency, and Figure fluency were lower in Patients and Relatives than Controls, and Recognition were the lowest in Patients. Only Recognition efficiency was significantly lower in Patients than other groups(Patients≥Relatives≥Controls). Generally, EIQ was significantly lower in Patients than Relatives and Controls. Subtest of EXIT were negatively correlated with Motor Coordination, Sequencing complex motor acts, and Others of NES. Conclusion:Although there are a few limitations in this study, it is found that neurological soft signs have a significant correlation with frontal executive function in patients with schizophrenia and their first degree relatives and patients with schizophrenia have greater neurological soft signs and deficits of frontal execution than their relatives.
