This essay critically reviews the 'Bioethics & Biosafety Law' (Law No.7150). The law was passed on December 29th 2003 at National Assembly and promulgated on January 25th 2004. The law will take effect wholly on January 1th 2005. But the law has many problems in respect to the bioethics and the dignity of human life. 1. The aim of this law is inappropriate. The aim of this law is to be the guarantee of the bioethics and biosafety, 2. With regard to the application scope, this law is possible to be a lower law than other related laws. 3. The role and constitution of the 'National Bioethics Committee' is problematic especially in the constitution. 4. The articles related to the human embryo research are to be mostly eliminated or fully amended. Because the human embryo research raises many bioethics problems and violates the dignity of human life. 5. The articles related to the genetic test are to be specified. Therefore this law is to be amended before to take effect. The 'Bioethics & Biosafety Law' ought to serve and protect the dignity of human life.

What would be the acceptable criteria for the authorship of research papers? In order to study this question, we analyze the relevant part of the results from the on-line survey that we performed to investigate the general attitudes of biomedical researchers as regards a number of issues of research ethics. The survey targeted the members of the Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology, and 659 members responded. We ask questions such as who should be included as author, who is generally de factoincluded as author, and what are the problems in the decision of authorship. The results show that there are significant difference between Principal Investigators and research students in their responses, and that researchers in general tend to think the authorship is actually given more generously than it should be. We also examine the authorship criteria suggested by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors(ICMJE), and its trend of changes. Finally, we discuss a few major issues Korean researchers facing when they decide authorship.
MODIS NDVI와 강수량 자료를 이용한 북한의 벼 수량 추정 연구

식량수급을 이해하기 위한 농업 현황 정보가 부족한 북한을 대상으로 위성영상과 기후자료를 이용하여 객관적이고 재현 가능한 벼 수량을 추정하는 방법을 개발하는 것을 본 연구의 목적으로 하였다. 2002 년부터 2014년까지의 MODIS 위성 식생지수 평균 NDVI 최대값과 27개 관측지점의 9월 강수량 자료를 이용하여 북한의 벼 수량 값을 추정하였다. 모형의 결정계수는 0.44, RMSE는 0.27 ton/ha로 다소 크게 나타났고, 분산분석결과 F비가 3.0983, 유의확률이 0.1008을 보였다. 벼논 지역의 MODIS 평균 NDVI 최대값과 등숙기의 기후자료를 이용하여 추정한 북한의 벼 수량은 2007년이 2.71 ton/ha로 가장 낮게, 2006년이 3.54 ton/ha로 가장 높게 나타났다. 통계 값과 추정 값의 산점도를 통하여 비교한 결과 벼 수량이 약 3.3 ton/ha 보다 적을 때는 모형의 추정 값이 높고 그 이상일 때는 통계 값이 더 높게 나타나는 경향이었다. 모형의 종속변수와 독립변수로 사용되는 위성영상의 품질, 단일 시기의 벼논 마스크 영상, 기상 관측지점의 수 와 자료의 품질, 통계 값의 품질 등으로 벼 수량에 대한 추정 성능의 한계가 있지만 객관적 자료를 사용하여 재현 가능한 방법을 제시하였다는 의미를 가진다. 모형 구동을 위해 사용되는 자료의 품질을 높여 나가야 하는 과제를 안고 있다. Lack of agricultural information for food supply and demand in Democratic People’s republic Korea(DPRK) make people sometimes confused for right and timely decision for policy support. We carried out a study to estimate paddy rice yield in DPRK using MODIS NDVI reflecting rice growth and climate data. Mean of MODIS NDVImax in paddy rice over the country acquired and processed from 2002 to 2014 and accumulated rainfall collected from 27 weather stations in September from 2002 to 2014 were used to estimated paddy rice yield in DPRK. Coefficient of determination of the multiple regression model was 0.44 and Root Mean Square Error(RMSE) was 0.27 ton/ha. Two-way analysis of variance resulted in 3.0983 of F ratio and 0.1008 of p value. Estimated milled rice yield showed the lowest value as 2.71 ton/ha in 2007, which was consistent with RDA rice yield statistics and the highest value as 3.54 ton/ha in 2006, which was not consistent with the statistics. Scatter plot of estimated rice yield and the rice yield statistics implied that estimated rice yield was higher when the rice yield statistics was less than 3.3 ton/ha and lower when the rice yield statistics was greater than 3.3 ton/ha. Limitation of rice yield model was due to lower quality of climate and statistics data, possible cloud contamination of time-series NDVI data, and crop mask for rice paddy, and coarse spatial resolution of MODIS satellite data. Selection of representative areas for paddy rice consisting of homogeneous pixels and utilization of satellite-based weather information can improve the input parameters for rice yield model in DPRK in the future.
생명과학 연구윤리 교육과정 개발을 위한 일 연구 -학부교양과정을 중심으로-

This study was designed to develop a research ethics curriculum for the life sciences at the undergraduate level. The aims of research ethics education should support the aims of the life sciences. Therefore, research ethics education should, in the first place, help to prevent research misconduct; secondly, it should respect the dignity of life. The educational program developed in this study places emphasis on the teaching of fundamental values related to research ethics. It is argued, furthermore, that for pedagogical purposes, good examples of research ethics are preferable to examples of misconduct.

본 연구의 목적은 유아 체육과 멀티미디어 융합을 통해 유아의 신체적 조절 능력, 대근육발달, 공간에 대한 판단 능력 등을 향상시켜 유아 실내 체육활동을 지원하는 것에 있다. 유아체육과 멀티미디어의 효울적인 융합을 위해서는 유아교사의 경우에도 유아의 컴퓨터활동을 성공적으로 이끌기 위안 방편으로 컴퓨터를 적절하게 사용할 수 있어야 하므로 멀티미디어 활용능력이 필수적이다. 유아교육현장에서 유아교사의 멀티미디어 활용을 활성화하기 위해서는 교사의 멀티미디어 활용능력을 개발하는 차원에서 연수기회를 강화하고 유아교육기관 단위의 조직 차원에서 연수 및 동료 간의 상호교류를 통해 멀티미디어 활용수업을 권장하고 관련 정보를 공유하는 지원환경을 마련하는 것이 필요하다. 왜냐하면 유아의 발달에 맞게 멀티미디어를 활용하여 교육적 환경을 풍요롭게 만드는 것이 교사들의 태도, 지석 및 기술에 달려 있기 때문이다. 그러므로 본 연구는 유아 체육 교육의 멀티미디어 활용 교육을 활성화하기 위해 미래지향적 접근에서 멀티미디어 활용을 통한 교수 학습 방법의 중요성을 제시하고, 현장에서 응용 가능한 실질적인 도움을 주는 교사교육에 일조하고자 하였다. The purpose of this study is to support indoor early-childhood physical activity by improving manipulation ability, gross motor development, ability to judge space through multimedia convergence with early-childhood physical education. In order to integrate the multimedia and early-childhood physical education effectively, it is essential for early-childhood teachers to be able to utilize computers appropriately as a way to successfully lead children` s computer activities. In order to encourage the use of multimedia by early-childhood teachers in the field of early childhood education, it is necessary to strengthen the opportunities for training in developing multimedia literacy ability of teachers and to encourage the use of multimedia by teaching and interacting with colleagues at the organization level of early-childhood education institutions. It is also necessary to establish a support environment to share related information. This is because it depends on the attitudes, knowledge and skills of teachers to make use of multimedia to enrich the educational environment in accordance with child development Therefore, this study suggests the importance of teaching-learning method through the use of multimedia, in future-oriented approach, in order to activate the multimedia education of early-childhood physical education and to contribute to teacher education that can be practically applied in the field.
