A vertical closed loop ground source heat pump(GSHP) is used to produce heat from the low-grade energy source such as the outside air and ground source. It is known that a heat pump system type has better efficiency comparing to the electric heating system. This study only demonstrates that the vertical closed loop GSHP system is a feasible choice for space cooling of air conditioning. The coefficient of performance (COP) is the ratio of heat output to work supplied to the system in the form of electricity. For the vertical closed loop GSHP system in a cooling mode, the COP is the most commonly used way for judging the efficiency. For the purpose of this experiment, vertical closed loop GSHP system was installed in the laboratory and the experiment was executed. As a result, an average COP of vertical-closed loop GSHP system was 3.62 when the outside average temperature was 33℃.

In the area (37.55 N, 126˚84 E) to get the data for the design and heating performances of heat pump for water to water system, the experiments were run. The vertical-closed loop ground source heat exchanger was installed under the 150m of ground from surface. The temperature, flow rate and electric power was measured. Released heat was 17,989.91kcal/h, used electric power 4,71kW/h and COP 4.44, and the average out side temperature was -8.64℃. Also the capacity of water was sufficient for supply ing the heating system.

The purpose of this study is to secure possibility that can be applied to heat exchanger for industry, by measuring thermal performance of TPCT(Two Phase Closed Thermosyphon), which was made by simplifying the making procedure and method. For this study, TPCT-typed heat exchanger was made, which comprised a copper pipe with length in 600mm, inner diameter in 8mm, outer diameter in 9.52mm, adiabatic section length in 320mm, and length of evaporator and condenser section in 120mm, respectively. Also, for heating and cooling the evaporator and condenser section, the water jacket was made with a copper pipe, which is 120mm in length and 28.58mm in outer diameter. The working fluid was used distilled water. 15% of the whole volume was charged. For heating evaporator and cooling condenser, hot water and cold water were used, respectively. To measure the temperature in the surface of TPCT and in the inlet & outlet of hot and cold water, it attached 13 temperature sensors and calculated the heat transfer rate of TPCT. As a result of surveying each thermal performance through experiment as for a case that the temperature of inlet in hot water jacket of evaporator is 60℃, 70℃ and 80℃ and that an angle of inclination in TPCT is 22.5°, 45° and 90° from horizontality. TPCT was confirmed to have the maximum heat transfer performance given being 80℃ in the temperature of hot water and being 22.5℃ in the inclination from horizontality.

To develop the solar air heater, prototype of solar heater with test room set up on the roof of test chamber and operation characteristics were examined with solar radiation. Air induced from outside was supplied by a blower and also heated air was supplied to the test chamber(size of 1,000㎜(in width)*2,000㎜(in length)*2,000㎜(in depth)) established already for performance. It was clear that almost 30% of solar radiation was converted into effective heating energy at maximum and the highest air temperature was 46℃, and thus solar air heater in winter could be used as an possible alternative heating system in building. Furthermore, heat energy obtained from solar air heater can be applied to regenerate absorber in the solar desiccant cooling system.

It is essential to know the climatic characteristics of the site for energy efficient building design. However, it is difficult to obtain a climate data through the new energy system device. Even if the new data is obtained, it is difficult to be applied to the building. Because it is usually consisted of just series of efficiency. In the meaning, a solar air heating has low efficiency compared with the solar water heating because of the smaller thermal capacity. The heat received by solar air-water combined system plate is not fully transferred to the air and then a part of them became the losses to the environment through conduction and convection process. This research is focusing on the investigation of efficiency of better combined multi-purposed system suggested by us and aims to secure the more effective solar energy utilization by combining the hot water and air heating system.
태양열 공기난방기에서 핀의 형상에 따른 열전달 성능 평가

It is essential to reduce the amount of fossil fuel because facing with the natural problem such as a global warming. To achieve this goal, many of interests in the use of renewable energy is growing. Especially, as one of these renewable energy systems, a solar air heater invention has been conducted for enhancing the efficiency of solar air heater. According to this trend, scale-down sized experiment apparatus was constructed and performed for searching a proper fin and confirming the heat transfer performance by fin shape on constant heat condition to enhance efficiency of solar air heater. In this experiment, heat gain, convection heat transfer coefficient, number of transfer units, Nusselt number, Reynold’s number, friction factor, performance factor were investigated in order to evaluate the thermal characteristics based on the real data obtained. By comparison with the each fin performance, a zigzag shape keeping a right angle to the plate had the highest value among them.
