Fine microgroove is the key component to fabricate micro-grating, micro-grating lens and so on. Conventional groove fabrication methods such as etching and lithography have some problems in efficiency and surface integrity. Therefore, mechanical micromachining methods using single crystal diamond tools is expected to be very efficient, and widely studied. This study deals with tool wear characteristics in the creation of micro V-grooves of electroless nickel coated plate using non-rotational single crystal diamond tool and 3-axis micro stages. For the analysis of tool wear characteristics in micro V-grooving, 3 dimensional images of tool tip are measured using noncontact type 3 dimensional shape measurement system.

Powder blasting technique is introduced to micromachine the micro pattern of LGP mould. The LGP mould with dot pattern is machined by using powder blasting. The machinability of circular and rectangular pattern by powder blasting is verified. Then a prototype of LGP is injected by the developed LGP mould with micro dot pattern. Shape analysis of dot pattern and performance of the injected LGP are verified. The results showed printless LGP with dot pattern could be produced by just single injection using the mould with micro dot pattern, and powder blasting technique could be successfully applied to micromachining of micro dot pattern of LGP.

The old technique of sandblasting which has been used for paint or scale removing, deburring, and glass decorating has recently been developed into a powder blasting technique for brittle materials, capable of producing micro structures larger than 100um. A large number of investigations on the abrasive jet machining with output parameters as material removal rate, penetrate and surface finish have been carried out and reported by various authors. In this paper, we investigated the effect of surface characteristics and surface shape of the abrasive jet machined glass surface under different blasting parameter. and finally we established a model for abrasive flow machining process, and compared with experimental results.

In this study, introduce about processing method of fluid passage channel in fuel processor by powder blasting. A processing meterial of the channel used LCD glass which thermal resistance and corrosion resistance are superior. For the comparison of heat transfer performance of methanol evaporator, numerical analysis using FLUENT code was carried out. Thereafter, processed fluid passage channel for fuel processor of LCD glass by powder blasting. After processing, analyzed about comparison of several channel forming cases channel depth, width and rib width.

In this study, introduce about processing method of microchannel in fuel processor. For the comparison of heat transfer performance of methanol evaporator, numerical analysis using FLUENT code was carried out. Channel shape and condition which could determine the heat transfer performance according to the channel conditions were obtained. For channel forming, besides the conventional etching method, mechanical machining methods of end milling and powder blasting was introduced. It was shown that end mining could reduce machining error remarkably and surface treatment by powder blasting could improve the performance of catalyst coating.

For the comparison of heat transfer performance of micro methanol fuel processor, numerical analysis using FLUENT code was carried out. Channel shape and condition which enhance the heat transfer performance according to the channel conditions were obtained. Computational results show that wide channel configuration is more effective in heat transfer than narrow channel in condition of same sectional area. And increase of channel number increase the heat transfer rate but also the pressure drop is increased.
