Poongsoo(Fengshui) is originated from natural feature of East Asia and developed for centuries as a site selection method and design guidelines for space of living, villages and palaces. Poongsoo provides one of the bases of traditional architectural culture of the region. It is continuously exercised in the contemporary architecture of Hongkong region and may suggest a direction for making new modern architecture having Korean traditional architectural culture. In this context, this paper explores the value and applying possibility of Poonsoo, one of the Korean traditional architectural method, with case study of modern architecture of Hongkong Island. In the study, the region is limited in Hongkong Island of Hongkong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, because the region is the first cession region in Hongkong territory and well urbanized and has many modern buildings expected to adopt Poongsoo factors. By literature survey, Hongkong Shanghai Bank Headquarters(Design by Sir Norman Foster1985), Bank of China Tower(Design by I. M. Pei, 1990), Repulse Bay Hotel(Design by Anthony Ng, 1984) and Hopewell centre(Design by WMKY Ltd, 1980) are selected as object architectures of this study. Through the study, it is found that the Poonsoo is applied in many various ways in those selected modern architecture of Hongkong Island. This shows that Poonsoo has great value as an alternative for seeking a new method of plan and design of modern architecture fitted with Korean culture.

Pungsu acts as a strong guideline for selecting a location of the village having a certain geographical condition. The attitude of choosing an auspicious site regarding the shape of mountains and water stream, is widely accepted by the intelligent class of Josen period. Therefore, the theory is one of the main factor influenced on the traditional village and house in Korea. Regarding the fact that a real effect of pungsu on the formation of traditional village and house, Study with a view of Pungsu theory could be a good method for deeply understanding the traditional architecture in Korea. In this context, the study analyzes the site and space lay out of an upper class house of vice minister Lee(Lee, Jung Ryul, 1868~1950) in Oeam historic village with Pungsu theory. The house is composed of Anchae(house for the women) and Sanrangchae(house for the men and receiving guests) and Hangrangchae(servants’ quarters). Through the study, It finds out that the house is carefully selected and planned considering surrounding physical environment so called Jusan(back hill), Ansan(front hill), Choengyong(blue dragon) and Beckho(white tiger) of Pungsu theory.

환경관련 포장규제 현황 및 발전방향

환경이 인류의 최대 현안으로 부각되기 시작한 것은 80년대 이후 최근의 일이며, 특히, 90년대에 들어 전세계적으로 포장폐기물이 문제가 되기 시작했다. 우리나라에서 '93년도에 "제품의 포장방법 및 포장재의 재질 등의 기준에 관한 규칙"을 제정하여 서울 등 일부 자치단체에서는 조례로서 상품의 포장방법 등을 규제하고 있다. 결국은 국내 뿐 아니라 국제적으로도 정책적, 강제적으로 포장방법을 규제하기 시작한 것이며, 이러한 규제가 포장발전에 많은 영향을 미칠 것이라고 예측할 수 있다. 환경문제는 인류의 생존과도 밀접한 관련이 있으므로, 어떠한 법률이나 규정이 제정된다면, 생산자, 소비자 모두 적극적으로 준수하여 효과를 극대화하여야 해야 할 것이다. 포장규제정책은 포장폐기물의 원천적 감량, 환경 친화적 포장재의 사용, 유해성의 감소, 포장폐기물 재활용 촉진 등으로 압축된다. 단, 그 정책의 입안 및 수행에 있어서, 소비자와 생산자간의 책임소재를 명확히 하고 일관성 있고 통일된 포장환경 기준 원칙을 설정해야 하며, 특히, 포장폐기물의 폐기 및 처리에 대해 보다 확실하게 입장을 정리해야 한다. 그리고 마지막으로 포장과 폐기물처리에 대한 국민적 교육이 필요하며, 관련 전문인력의 양성이 절대적으로 필요하다.

金庾信 將軍傳說 硏究

In order to study the lives of the generals of Chungbuk Province, I have considered how the legends of General Kim Yoo-shin have been down from generation to generation and the meanings of the legends. First, I have described the life of Kim Yoo-shin and then considered how he is portrayed in the legends and their implications. I have reconstructed the legends based on his whole life, and considered the legends by dividing them into phases, i.e., the stones of his birth, his birth place, his military training, his becoming active in the society, his brilliant military achievements, his last life, and his life after death. I have also considered the meaning of the legends by diviging them into several stories, i.e., the story related his birth, the legend related to his growth and military training, the legend related to his going into the world, the legend related to the unification of the Three States, the legend related to his death and his life after death. Among 21 oral legends related to General Kim, 12 of them have been handed down in Chungbuk Province. While the legends of other provinces are mainly concerned with his military training and activities, his whole life is described in the legends handed down in Chungbuk Province and, among other things, there are many stories about his birth and growth, i.e., stories related to his military training is his Wharang days (Wharang is an elite youth corps of Shilla Dynasty). His life is believed to have been preordained. The story of his birth is expressed more beautifully in the oral legends of this province than in any written literature.

I have also considered the meanings of the legends by dividing them into several stories, On the basis of each Legend shown the above, the peculiarities of the Legend are presented.

Legends which are handed down by the people of a nation or region depend largely upon the beliefs of a group, natural surroundings or social life in comparision with myths and folk stories. This paper studied the characteristics of legends collected from Chechon and Chewon districts in relation to its regional characteristics. As a way of study this paper briefly examined the characteristics by classfying 137 legends into 15 items in character collected from these districts and also examined their regional distribution.
