New requirements of automotive have given the focus on the development of new intake system. Reduced space under the hood, NCAP, longer service life intervals, improved fuel-efficiency, cost reduction, lower noise and higher power require new high performance intake system. In order to achieve these requirements, a new conceptual development of intake system is necessary. TRIZ provides an appropriate problem solving approach. Unlike Conventional Trial & Error Method, TRIZ follows some rule to the ideal solution. It reduces the time for generating concepts. In other words, TRIZ is more systematical and promising innovation method like scientific law or mathematics. In this paper, the problem modeling methods, generating ideas, strategies, evaluation and verification about new intake system development of TRIZ area will be discussed.
