Transparent conductive metal oxide films of In<SUB>2-x</SUB>Ti<SUB>x</SUB>O₃ (ITiO) and In<SUB>2-x</SUB>Sn<SUB>x</SUB>O₃ (ITO) were deposited by RF magnetron sputtering at relatively low substrate temperature (~300℃) and at high rate (~10㎚/min). Electrical and optical properties of the films were investigated as well as film structure and morphology, as it is compared with the commercial F:SnO₂ (FTO) glass. Near infrared ray transmittance of ITiO is the highest for wavelengths over 1000㎚, which can increase dye sensitized compared to ITiO and FTO. Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) were fabricated using the ITiO, ITO and FTO. Photoconversion efficiency (η) of DSC using ITiO is 5.5%, whereas 5.0% is obtained from DSC with ITO, both at 100 ㎽/㎠ light intensity.

In this work, TCO-less dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) using Ti-mesh layer is fabricated for high-efficient low-cost solar cell application. The Ti-mesh metal can replace TCO in the photo-electrode part of DSCs, thus the cell structure is composed of a glass/dye sensitized TiO2 particle/ Ti-mesh layer/electrolyte/Pt sputtered counter electrode/glass. The Ti-mesh electrode with high conductivity can collect electrons from the TiO₂ layer and allows the ionic diffusion of I?/I₃? through the mesh hole. Thin Ti-mesh (∼40㎛ in thickness) electrode material is processed using rapid prototype method. The efficiency of prepared TCO-less DSCs sample is about 1.45 % ((ff: 0.5, Voc: 0.52V, Jsc: 5.55 ㎃/㎠).

Ti-layer was deposited onto TiO₂ nanopartcles layer by RF magnetron sputtering in 500㎚ thickness. The transparent conductive oxide (TCO) layer was replaced by the high porosity Ti thin film. Thus TCO-less dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) sample was fabricated. The porous Ti layer with high conductivity can collect electrons from the TiO₂ layer and allows the ionic diffusion of I?/I₃?to the dye molecules through the holes in Ti thin film. The effeciency of as-fabricated TCO-less DSCs is 3.73% (Voc:0.68V, Jsc:9.61mA/㎠. FF:0.58).

In this study, SUS-Mesh replaced high-cost transparent conductive oxide (TCO) layer. To improve conversion-efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs), SUS-Mesh was also coated with Al2O₃ and SiO₂. In result, the conversion-efficiency of DSC coated with Al₂O₃ by sol-gel method was 1.68% (Jsc:9.27㎃/㎠, Voc:0.73V, ff:0.24). This result had higher efficiency (0.3%) than non-coated DSC. The short-circuit current density (Jsc) also improved considerably, however, the DSC coated with Al₂O₃ by sol-gel had low fill factor.

Bidirectional DC/DC converters allows transfer of power between two dc sources, in either direction. Due to their ability to reverse the direction of flow of power, they are being increasingly used in many applications such as battery charger/dischargers, dc uninterruptible power supplies, electrical vehicle motor drives, aerospace power systems, telecom power supplies, etc. This paper proposes a new bidirectional Sepic/Zeta converter. It has low swicthing loss and low conduction loss due to auxiliary communicated circuit and synchronous rectifier operation, respectively. Because of positive and buck/boost-like DC voltage transfer function(M=D/1-D), the proposed converter is very desirable for use in distributed power system . The proposed converter also has both transformerless version and transformer one.
