The aim of this thesis is comparing secondary school teacher appointment examination in Korea and Japan and suggesting development plan for teacher appointment of two countries. Korea and Japan employ teachers at secondary school through teacher appointment examination. Streamlining the procedure and contexts of teacher appointment examination are essential tasks for selecting good teacher as well as improving the quality of education over certain level. Recently, research that by reviewing educational system, teaching method and content of education of other contries, formulating educational policy for implementation has been popular. By analyzing the system and problem question of the 2015 secondary school native language teacher appointment examination of Korea and Japan, the following conclusions are drawn. (1) in Japan, status of subject content education should be reconsidered, (2) problem question types will be developed to improve quality of questions, (3) more research is needed to find evaluation factors in the interview, (4) in Korea, diversification of the test system is required in terms of teacher recruitment policy, and (5) theoretical basis for each screening and empirical effects call for discussion.
