Since first introduced in the middle of 1990’s, brake system with electric control transmission, called ‘Brake by Wire’, have gradually started to embodied in a complex braking system like EHB, EMB because its lots of benefits . But, there will be some safety-related risk if we use the system without consideration of electric failures. In this study, along with analysing international harmonization regulations(UNECE Regulation 13-H), a vehicle equipped with partial electric control transmission have been tested according to the present KMVSS No.90-1 for brake system and surveyed braking response on surfaces having different friction coefficient after setting various electric signal failure mode in hydraulic control unit, and the result of the study will be reflected on the KMVSS in future.

Nowadays, the importance of Brake Assist System(BAS) is getting increase because of the rising population of a weak drivers and the adoption as impulsary directives in European 27 Countries according to the injury-risk reducing effect study in traffic accident. The ratio of the vehicles sold in market originally equipped with BAS were increased by 100% from 15.7% in 2007 to 28.4% in 2009. UNECE adopted Brake Assist System as its safety regulations in Jun. 2009. In this study, 4domestic vehicles were tested by the new UNECE BAS regulations and the result of this study will be reflected for establishing on the Korean Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for Brake system.

전기방사 및 전기분무의 두 가지 전기유체역학적 기법을 이용하여 포켓 내에 세포가 함입되어 있고 정렬된 섬유구조체를 갖는 관형 스캐폴드를 제조하였다. 스캐폴드 제조를 위해 분산액을 회전 드럼에 전기 분무하는 동시에 섬유구조를 형성하기 위해 고분자 용액을 동시에 전기방사하였으며, 전도성 와이어를 통해 정렬된 구조의 스캐폴드가 형성되고, 전기분무를 통해 섬유구조체 내부에 존재하는 포켓에 세포를 함입시켰다. 제조된 스캐폴드의 두께 및 세포 농도는 분무와 방사시간을 통해 조절되었으며 해당 스캐폴드 제조기술은 신경, 뼈 및 혈관의 조직재생에 활용할 수 있다. Fibrous tubular scaffolds with cells in pockets were fabricated by a combination of electrospinning and electrospraying methods. Cell dispersions were electrosprayed onto a rotating drum while a polymer solution was electrospun at the same time for the production of the fibrous structure. The electrospun fibers were aligned onto the rotating drum using conductive wires, creating pockets with cells present within the scaffold. The thickness of the scaffold and the number of the cells were controlled by varying the processing time. These scaffolds could be potnetially utilized for the tissue engineering of nerve, bone, and blood vessels.
한 차선 내 복수 차량이 존재하는 추돌 상황에서의 ADAS 차량의 차량 인식에 관한 연구

In this study a safety evaluation method is presented for a ADAS vehicle to be tested in collision situation when multiple vehicles are present on a single lane. Test scenarios are developed based on Euro-NCAP assessment scenarios, accident database and related simulation results in previous works. An automated evaluation system that is called as the K-target mover is used for active safety evaluation experiments. The experiments are conducted with two types of tests. First, the rear-end collision tests with 25% and 50% overlap for the test vehicle and target vehicle are conducted with the two kinds of test vehicles. On the other hand, the rear-end collision tests which include multiple vehicles in a single lane with 25% and 50% overlaps, are also conducted. Experimental results show that the test vehicles with ADAS cannot recognize the collision situation sometimes in the developed test scenarios, even in the case that the test vehicle showed stable performance in the simple overlap scenarios.
Fabrication of Starch-Lauric Acid Nanoparticles for Potential Tumor Therapy

라우르산의 양을 변화시킴으로써 잠재적인 암 요법을 갖는 전분-라우르산(starch-lauric acid; St-LA) 나노 입자를 제조하고 최적화된 St-LA 나노 입자를 발견하였다. 또한 주사 전자 현미경(SEM) 및 푸리에 변환 적외선 분광법(FTIR) 분석을 통해 St-LA 나노 입자가 성공적으로 제조되었음을 확인하였다. 세포 실험에서, St-LA 나노 입자는 A549 및 Caco-2 세포에서 세포 독성을 나타내지만 NIH/3T3 세포는 나타내지 않았음이 LIVE/DEAD 염색 및 형광 이미징에 의해 확인되었다. 따라서 St-LA 나노 입자는 잠재적으로 암 화학 요법에 적용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. This manuscript reports on the fabrication of starch-lauric acid (St-LA) nanoparticles having potential cancer therapy. St-LA nanoparticles were fabricated by varying the amount of LA, and the optimized St-LA nanoparticles were found. In addition, it was confirmed that the St-LA nanoparticles were successfully fabricated through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis. In vitro, the St-LA nanoparticles showed cytotoxicity in A549 and Caco-2 cells but not NIH/3T3 cells. These results were confirmed by LIVE/DEAD staining and fluorescence imaging. Our next goal is to evaluate the St-LA nanoparticles containing various anticancer drugs through in vitro and in vivo studies. St-LA nanoparticles can potentially be applied to cancer chemotherapy.
브레이크 로봇을 활용한 제동안정성평가 신뢰성 향상방안 연구

The Korean New Car Assessment Program (KNCAP) has been carried out by the Korean government since 1999 in order to encourage that the auto makers shall launch the safer cars into the domestic market. The brake NCAP test has been adopted to reduce the stopping distance. Braking tests were performed with pedal force applied by driver/robot individually and their effects upon pedal force requirements were analyzed. The differences of stopping distance were significantly shorter with pedal force applied by brake robot compared to pedal force applied by driver. Accordingly, this study evaluated the effectiveness of brake robot that will reduce the deviation of stopping distances through pedal force requirements of brake NCAP. The methodology to integrate the respective ratings from the braking tests considering environmental variables would be studied for the future application.

The inertia (overrun) braking system of a trailer comprises the control device, the transmission and the wheel brakes. The Inertia braking systems convert the trailer’s inertia force to braking force in their wheel brake. The Inertia braking systems are widely used for small trailers because of the mechanism is relatively simple. But, safety evaluation method and test procedure are not well defined. In this study, along with analysing international harmonization regulations(UNECE Regulation 13) and the result of the study will be reflected on the KMVSS in future.
