Vol.15 No.6

(Background and Purpose) Many modern historical museums exist for the purpose of preserving records, expanding knowledge, and enjoying culture for future generations. Museum collections, which are historical records of the world, are transmitted to future generations through professional preservation and restoration processes, so this process can be regarded as the most important role of historical museums, and these preserved collections become the central contents of museum exhibitions. Recently, in the historical museums, the interactive media that interacts in various ways from planning exhibitions in which various exhibitions are attempted due to its excellent variability induces visitors to visit and adds interest and experience. However, it can be seen that, depending on the attempt, it may cause damage to the collection, and based on this fact, preliminary research on the preservation of the collection is essential, and a method to utilize the characteristics of interactive media to match the exhibition should be prepared. Therefore, this study intends to prepare an index for presenting the method of using interactive media in planning exhibitions of historical museums, based on the characteristics of interactive media and preservation prevention methods. (Method) In this study, a case analysis was conducted based on the causes of damage to the collections and preventive preservation measures in the history museum and the representative characteristics of interactive media. In the case study, eight exhibitions of historical museums in Korea and abroad using interactive media were selected in order to evaluate and compare the conformity of interactive media used in history museums, and the results of the interactive media analysis of each exhibition are synthesized and finally compared. (Results) A case analysis of five representative characteristics of interactive media: interactivity, operability, complexity, playfulness, and consistency of collection participation, shows the associations of each characteristic; proves that complementary production is necessary when utilizing interactive media by demonstrating differences of interactive media content production in exhibitions of historical museums in Korea and abroad. (Conclusions) This study emphasizes that the characteristics of interactive media should be reflected in conformity with the exhibitions in history museums in order for interactive media to be directed in planning exhibitions together with the collections of historical museums while considering the safety of the collections first. For this purpose, professional research on the characteristics of collections in history museum and the characteristics of planning exhibitions should be carried out continuously. It is meaningful that basic data has been created as a result of this study, in order to present concrete and systematic utilization measures when producing interactive media contents for the planning and exhibition of history museums in the future.

Vol.15 No.6

(The Background and Purpose of the Study) Against the backdrop of this study, consumers' consumption standards are also being individualized according to the rapidly changing distribution industry. So, These days, customers approach experience-offline space focusing on brand experience rather than product sales, as their consuming behaviors turn into online shopping. Following this trend, companies tend to reduce sales-focused offline shops and induce customers to ‘experience’ brands by keeping them for a long time. As this experiencing space emerges, it is estimated to maximize various kinds of communication and experiences for customers, through the study of interbehaviorive design, to go along with changing times. This study has the purpose of rediscovering amibent user experience in flagship stores based on interbehaviorive design, by listing its features and importances, which is to improve the design of brand-experiencing space that interacts with consumers’ experience.(Methods of the Study) Therefore, this study learned about the concept of flagship store by analyzing documents and preceding studies, and defined amibent user experience in space. This study learns about features of amibent user experience through preceding studies, and analyzes the features of amibent user experience presented in domestic and overseas flagship store cases where functions of consumers and brands are effective by introducing interbehaviorive design. In the end, it sees the features and importance of the results after appreciating the cases and analyzing diagrams. (Results) The results of case study is following. First of all, the components of amibent user experience were important in the order of association, information, non-daily life, sense-motivation, dynamics and interaction. Through this, it has been obvious that association and information based on amibent user experience in flagship store are closely related. In other words, flagship store must motivate consumers with experiences through the unique image of brands, and it its essential to cause them to buy goods by stimulating them with new information, experiences and memory. (Conclusion) In the end, studies on amibent user experience are needed through consumers’ experiences from the view of flagship stores based on interbehaviorive design. And this would make flagship stores enable to establish an environment that brings positive brand image and identity. In addition to that, flagship store should learn about the importance of amibent user experience that comes from experience and communication with consumers in the space, and should go on pertinent studies. Consumption value would gradually rise through various trials due to various interbehaviorive techniques in flagship stores in the future, and strategic value of flagship stores would rise by offering distinctive brand experiences.

Vol.14 No.6

(Background and Purpose) Art contributes to making life more fulfilling through a connection to things that humans desire and want to preserve. Yet, despite its role in encouraging life, from forms of appropriation to jouissance, art still exists as a culture that only some enjoy. This study identified the inequality of art jouissance as a class issue, which is a problem with the institutions supporting this inequality. Thus, the transformation of places in the field of art, where the production and consumption of art take place, can be considered a result of class struggle. Therefore, the researcher encourages a reflection on the field of art where art can be enjoyed uniformly through a consideration of the space and practices where the production and consumption of art intersect. (Method) The researcher mainly focused on Pierre Bourdieu and his concept of “field” as a reinforcing theory of research for an organic understanding of art and society. Bourdieu’s theory of “field” guards against the idea of a dichotomous separation. This provides a cross-linked theory of structure and action, or theory and practice, where both perspectives can be understood as fluid relationships. Bourdieu’s theory also expands the understanding of economic society by acknowledging the existence of a “symbolic capital.” In addition, the theory laid the foundation for the scientific understanding of the microcosmic social spaces with a rich cultural character, such as the art world. (Results) The field theory recognizes the autonomy of each field of cultural production. However, homology exists in the ranks of the social space and in the accreditation levels of participants in each field of cultural production. It is pointed out that heteronomy also exists in the field because the field of power, that is, the place of power in society, is a structure that can exert pressure on the field. Therefore, on the theoretical foundation called homology of the social space and the field of cultural production, the transformation process of places of fine art after modern times was analyzed from the perspective of heteronomy and autonomy. This study was an attempt to understand the field of art in society and history. At the same time, the understanding of the field of art as a synchronic-diachronic perspective led to the scientific discovery of the limitations of the field of art. (Conclusions) Therefore, this study identified multiple threats to the autonomy of the field. These threats have been preserved as a mechanism to solidify class in the social space and the field of art despite the repeated symbolic struggle. It is the hope of the researcher that looking at all of the real autonomy and strategies has provided languages that bring about the liberation of the field of art and of the audience.

Vol.15 No.7

(Background and Purpose) Recently there are so many attempts to deliver brand image and value to customers through brand space. The key role of planning brand space is not only planning and building up the brand’s message but also realizing their intention and messages in the communication flow which is the result of the cognitive response by customer experience. The aim of this research is to understand and build up a communication frame between customers and a brand and induce a positive responsive to customers by the application of it. (Method) The background of this research is based on the Strategic experiential modules by Bernd H. Schmitt and the cognitive response system. Base on it, the researcher plans to look into the relations between stimuli factors of the customer experience and their responses. It is reviewed that the communication between Consumers and Brands exists in the flow of delivering the message and affordable environment and consumer’s cognitive response process. Therefore a key factor, a brand space which is one of important channels to convey the brand message effectively to predict consumer’s response is examined. Additionally, because of recognizing customer experience marketing is one of best effective solutions to improve brand image and loyalty, various experiential methodologies and theoretical bases are plan to be reviewed. According to increasing the high complexity of products recently, most high involvement product brands try to expand communication channels to reach consumers directly. Considering this trend, Brand experience space rises up as a major messaging delivering channel. The cognitive response process by various customer experiences and the detail of cognitive response process will be examine for the elaboration of brand space design. Finally, the relation between each experiential factor and the cognitive response will be reviewed by case studies of high involvement product brand’s experience space to be focused customer experience. (Results) It is important to plan and set up the stimuli system based on customer’s cognitive response by this research’s frame work. Because various cognitive responses can be followed by experience factors, a core procedure which is offering the structuralization of stimuli in experience planning is confirmed. (Conclusions) Lately customer’s desires and awareness for each brand is getting diversified. Therefore it is an essential to set up the systematic and structural plan for brand experience space based on theories of the cognitive response and strategic experiential module in order to enhance brand image and loyalty. Accordingly it has to be activated to study a research for customer response and its stimuli plan in the communication flow based on the relation of customer response according to each experience’s characteristic.

Vol.15 No.7

(Background and purpose) Globally, modern society is rapidly experiencing change and development. However, local identity was gradually lost due to the decline of early industries, and indiscriminate development without consideration of regional characteristics resulted in the loss of the inherent environment and meaning of regions. In the process of reorganizing the city, the importance and necessity of the cultural industry gradually expanded, and interest in social relations and local culture increased, concentrating on the community aspect. In addition, we are currently making efforts to improve the old local environment by creating local linked projects and contents in various facilities such as creative studios and alternative spaces, and to achieve community consciousness, regional development, and identity formation. The purpose of this study is to analyze what direction our country pursues through domestic project cases using these community art, to recognize and understand the importance and problems of community art. Through this, we hope that the Korean community art will continue to improve its quality in the right direction.(Method) Chapters 1 and 2 describe the theoretical background of the research background, purpose and concept. It also considers the type and necessity of concept and presents it in a table. In Chapter 3, we examine representative domestic examples of government-led community art aimed at establishing regional identity, then substitute them into four types of community art by Pascal Gillen, then draw conclusions through classification and analysis, and in Chapter 4, we conclude the study.(Results)As a result of substituting community art types, “conforming” was included as a whole and divided into two types, “self-organizational” and “type-related.” Projects centered on markets and idle facilities were combined with two types of self-organizing and type-related. On the other hand, the fields of murals and public art only had “self-organizing” tendencies. (Conclusions) Analysis reveals that the nation's community art aims to attract both writer support and regional development. The project's planning intent seems to be successful, but if you look closely, there are many writer-centered tendencies. For regional development, the establishment of regional identity and the sense of community of residents should be improved, and the development of projects and content that can actively involve participation is necessary. Also, it is necessary to listen to the opinions of private groups without expertise as well as writers and make various attempts. Improving the identity of the region is to revive urban competitiveness both at home and abroad, so all of our members should always be interested in the region.

Vol.15 No.7

(Background and Purpose) Contemporary science museums are spaces that provide a window into the development of science technology and various fields through the materials on display. Additional emphasis is placed on STEAM convergence education, which takes an integrated approach to curriculums of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics to increase interest in and understanding of rapidly developing contemporary science technology and expand the convergence thinking power. Furthermore, various types of scientific communication is required even for science exhibition. Therefore, science exhibition planners need to plan and showcase interesting content of scientific knowledge through various media and space and induce immersion in a natural learning atmosphere to ensure pleasant learning experiences for the visitor. Thus, this study was intended to establish a specific activity that could accommodate the visitor’s need for an integrated experience and the phase of experience based on learning at science exhibitions and to analyze the immersion environment necessary for offering an optimal experience, which can be provided as an integrated experience structure for immersive experiences of visitors at science exhibitions. (Method) This study aimed to examine the characteristics of science museums and science exhibitions, and on this basis, analyze the phase of specific experience necessary for immersion of the visitor. To this end, we analyzed characteristics of science exhibitions differentiated from other museum exhibitions and considered the need for an integrated visitor experience by investigating the phased process of science learning and scientific communication in the non-formal learning space. Based on theoretical consideration, we established a framework for phased structure of an intuitive, thoughtful, and integrated experience with regards to the phase of experience of the visitor, and derived activity elements of specific experience accordingly. Moreover, we examined the conditions for an immersion environment necessary to provide an optimal experience and presented the integrated immersive experience by taking such an environment into overall consideration. (Results) Science exhibitions need to allow visitors to increase their understanding by linking their experience from a learning perspective. Thus, exhibition planners should provide visitors with multi-faceted experiences that stimulate their cognition and senses to allow them to interpret and understand on their own, and create an immersion environment by providing visitors with opportunities for participation at a proper level. If such experiences are accumulated continuously, they will be able to uncover their relationship or laws and gain a truly integrated understanding. (Conclusion) This study presented an exhibition planning method through an “integrated immersive experience structure.” This study hopes that such process will help not only merely convey scientific concepts and information but also form new meanings. Furthermore, it can be used as a methodology for exhibition planning to create activity elements conducive to developing a scientific attitude.

Vol.14 No.3

(Background and Purpose) As society changes, the mobility space structure is emerging, aided by the development of digital technology. To induce user participation, they are pursuing application and deformation by developing space into a geometric straight line, with a static form, focused on making space more natural instead of seeking mere simplicity. This study analyzed Liquid Space based on the perspective of Deleuze in Title of work (year of publication) on the discourse on formative X. In recognition of the directing characteristics of Liquid Space, this study aimed to determine the correlation between character and space in formative language, as well as the orientation of modern commercial space design. (Method) The scope is a study of the characteristics of the book Liquid Space through a type of case. Based on the philosophy of Deleuze’s Other Geometry, the theory of Sinography and Liquid Space and the characteristics of the relevant formative language were discussed through literature and data investigation. Case characteristics were analyzed by type of Liquid Space based on the results of previous research. (Results) The present analysis showed that formative language could be through geometric, temporal, dramatic, and immersive spaces, as well as perspective of other geometries. Of all types, unformatted forms appeared prominently in geometrical spaces, interconnection appeared in temporal and immersive spaces, and intercommunication appeared in dramatic and immersive spaces. In an immersive space, natural elements could be used by including the characteristics of interconnection and intercommunication. Meanwhile, the characteristics of the Liquid Space could be known to change through the user’s participation and correlated occurring events. (Conclusions) Liquid Space was able to identify communication that led to participation by creating new events through the users’ movements. Diversified space structures and forms of design are liquidized through geometric order. By the introduction of time systemization, the meaning of a liquid continuum space could be created. It could be used in the design field if it uses the directing characteristics of formative language. This study is expected to be used as basic reference for efforts in expressing the directing characteristics of cases of Liquid Space by type in domestic spaces and in presenting the relevant concepts and future direction for mutual technology and design method.

Vol.13 No.6

(Background and Purpose) Spaces of multi-layered and complex connectivity, especially “social spaces” that emphasize flexible thinking and diversity, are becoming increasingly important in modern society. However, residential environments are full of hierarchical spatial structures based on the past masculine and mainstream thought that denies change at the center of mechanical social structure and deterministic thinking. On the other hand, as futurologist John Naisbitt mentioned, women value flexible networks as well as creativity, and commonly seek change considering the results, which implies that “femininity” may present new values to modern society. In this sense, compared to the existing male-centered mainstream thought, this study examines “the spatial value of femininity” by perceiving “feminine value” as “distinction” rather than “difference.” (Method) First, the Western and Eastern meanings of femininity were investigated through a literature review of previous research, and the meaning of feminine values for social relationships was examined. Second, the flow of feminist architecture was recognized; the method of feminine design approach mentioned in preceding research was understood, its characteristics were reestablished, and the direction of the case study was then decided. Third, the frame of the case analysis was constructed based on the characteristics of the method of feminine design approach and those of architectural spatial composition. Fourth, the method of feminine environmental design approach and the elements of spatial composition were derived from the social space of the architectural works of Kazuyo Sejima and Jeanne Gang, female architects representing the East and West. (Results) First, in the method of environmental design approach, totality was the highest in both groups, followed by confluence and sensibility. In other words, the goal of this method is to focus on various types of relationship in order to totally grasp users, the usage of space, and the spatial structure, depending on cultural, social, and physical contexts, and then to consider what type of sensitivity users should feel. Second, all the elements of spatial composition emphasized spatial composition through programs considering various types of relationships that were designed as mostly empty spaces of flexibility and variability, though they had differences in terms of volume and level. (Conclusions) With the method of community space design, Kazuyo Sejima and Jeanne Gang induced accessible and accidental traffic lines using familiar spaces such as natural elements, parks, playgrounds, schoolyards, and cafes. They used a method of smooth and flexible feminine design approach to lower psychological barriers, induce natural meetings, and raise the “social relationship” of the community. They also used a flexible-thinking feminine design methodology, leading to open results through ideation conferences with various interested persons rather than to top-down authoritative decisions in communication for designing.
