The objectives of this study were to investigate the atomization characteristics and the engine performance characteristics using the change of injection nozzle form and ultrasonic-energy-added diesel fuel.<br/> 1. To evaluate the effect of ulrasonic energy and the change of injection nozzle form, droplet size<br/> measurements earned out using Malvern system. 2. To analyze the change of ultrasonic-energy-added diesel fuel, chemical analysis and physical analysis earned out using 'H-NMR spectrum, viscosity system and surface tension system.<br/> 3. In the diesel engine test, there were results about engine performance and exhaust emission.<br/> In Summary, the results of this study indicate that ultrasonic-energy-added diesel fuel induced beneficial changes in SMD, engine performance and exhaust emission. And the B type was excellent in all type of injection nozzle.

This paper describes briefly the effect of ultrasonic fuel supply device on the performance of four stroke cycle gasoline engine. Experiments were carried out to clarify the effect of ultrasonic fuel supply device on the engine output, traveling fuel consumption ratio, exhaust emissions. Attaching the ultrasonic fuel supply device to the conventional injector of the gasoline engine, engine output and traveling fuel consumption ratio, exhaust emissions were improved.

This paper describes briefly the effect of ultrasonic fuel supply device on the performance of four stroke cycle gasoline engine. Experiments were carried out to clarify the effect of ultrasonic fuel supply device on the engine output, traveling fuel consumption ratio, exhaust emissions.<br/> The results were obtained as follows:<br/> 1. Engine output was increased 9~14 % in comparison with that of the conventional injector. 2. Travelling fuel consumption ratio was improved 17~29 % in comparison with that of the conventional injector.<br/> 3. CO, HC exhaust emissions was decreased compared to the value of the conventional injector. 4. Fuel consumption ratio in highway driving test was improved about 10 % in comparison with<br/> that of the conventional injector.

This study investigated the characteristics of ultrasonic energy added diesel fuel. We compared the characteristics used ^1H-NMR spectrum, FT-IR spectrum, viscosity and surface tension between conventional diesel fuel and ultrasonic energy added diesel fuel.<br/> The result are obtained as follow :<br/> We knew that ultrasonic energy cause to reduce BI and aromatics Ha, decrease viscosity and surface tension but increase Alkanes Hγ.<br/> The effect of ultrasonic energy added diesel fuel was principally caused by change of chemical structures and a physical characteristics.<br/>
