The rubber roller grinding machine for color print is requested to get the high-quality and productivity increasing for the rubber rollers. It is necessary to develop the design and manufacturing technology for the special mechanism of rubber roller grinding machine with a wide width grinding wheel. Therefore, the rubber grinding machine with the compact structure and the spindle easy to assemble after balancing for high-speed processing and transfer is developed. So, a developed machine is tested and evaluated for the dynamic and thermal characteristics in this paper.

High speed machining is the core technology that influences the performance of machine tools, and the high speed motor spindle is widely used for the high speed machine tools recently. The important problem in this spindle is to reduce and minimize the thermal effect by motor and bearing. This paper presents the thermal characteristic analysis of a oil-air lubricated high speed motor spindle system with angular contact ball bearings and built-in motor. An analysis on the thermal characteristics of spindle is performed according to the cooling oil flow and viscosity by using finite element method. This result can be applied to the design and manufacture of a high speed motor spindle.

This paper was studied the air cooling effects between motor and bearings according to the air flow rate for the high speed motor spindle. This result can be applied to the design and manufacture of a high speed motor spindle to reduce the thermal displacement and temperature rise.

High speed machining is the core technology that influences the performance of machine tools, and the high frequency motor spindle is widely used for the high speed machine tools recently. The important problem in the high speed spindles is to reduce and minimize the thermal effect by motor and ball bearing. In this study, the thermal characteristics of the spindle with the axial directional cooling jacket are analyzed by using the numerical method. The temperatures and the thermal displacements according to the spindle speed are measured. This result can be applied to the design and manufacture of the high frequency spindle.
