본 연구에서는 고로슬래그의 원료인 수쇄슬래그를 Ball mill로 분말도에 다양한 변화를 주어 제조한 다음 종전에 진행되었던 Hydrometer를 이용한 비중계법 콘크리트 조기 강도 추정의 원리를 적용하여 BS의 분말도 품질을 저렴하면서도 간편하고 신속하게 평가함으로써 BS 분말도 수입검사에 효과적으로 활용할 수 있도록 함에 있어 그 가능성을 분석하고자 하였다. 실험 결과 BS의 분말도가 클수록 액체밀도계의 침하시간이 지연되는 것으로 나타났으며, 3분의 혼탁액 밀도와 분말도의 상관관계 회귀식 y = 198 120 x -193 936(R=0.9398)을 활용할 시 BS 분말도의 신속한 품질평가가 가능할 것으로 판단되었다. 따라서 레미콘 인수검사에서 BS의 분말도 품질 신속평가로 본 연구에서 제시하는 방법을 적용할 경우 저렴하고 간단하며 신속하게 BS 분말도 평가가 가능할 수 있을 것으로 분석되었다. The aim of the research is to analyze the feasibility of rapid quality evaluation method for blast furnace slag using hydrometer based on the former research of the prediction method for concrete compressive strength using hydrometer. Using this method, it is expected to provide a new application for blast furnace slag quality evaluation easily and rapidly during the receiving inspection. According to the experimental results, the settling time period of hydrometer was delayed with increased fineness of blast furnace slag. By using the regression equation of y = 198 120 x – 193 936(R=0.9398) obtained from the correlation between density of suspension at three minutes and fineness, it was possible to evaluate the quality of blast furnace slag fineness rapidly. Therefore, for ready-mixed concrete receiving inspection, the suggested method can be used as a cheap, a simple, and a rapid inspection method.

In this research, the blast-furnace slag powder using the hydrometer also attempted to analysis the influence factor due to the temperature change of water and sample, and the number of upside down turns at the time of rapid evaluation. As a result, the influence of the number of turn was not large, but was the temperature of the water and sample are greatly affected.

Recently in the construction industry, industrial by-product admixtures like blast-furnace slag fine particles (BS henceforth) are being used as binding material, reducing the use of cement, and measures to reduce CO2 emissions are being examined on various levels. However, the BS being used domestically varies depending on the origin of resources, and by circulating BS that is inappropriate to the KS standard, problems are occurring in terms of changes and declines in the quality of concrete which uses it. Therefore in this study the liquid densimeter principle was used to assess various BS fineness qualities; with 100 g/L fixed, a 1,000cc mass cylinder was most appropriate for assessing the quality of cement fineness.

Recently on construction sites, there is increased use of concrete with large quantities of blast-furnace slag(BS) admixture replacements, for purposes of reducing CO2 created from cement, one of the ingredients of concrete. But such high-BS fineness changes can have a huge effect on the quality of mortar and concrete. Therefore in this study an experiment was conducted in which liquidity and intensity of mortar depending on an artificially-applied change in fineness degree at degree 7. The results, though subtle, were that the larger the fineness degree, liquidity increased and air quantity decreased, and compression and flexural strength increased.
