Today, many electric or electronic parts are used in the vehicles for high efficiency and driver"s convenience. The ISG (Integrated Starter and Generator) in the green car is merged with a starter and a generator motor. It is good to decrease pollution and to save fuel by appling idle stop & go system. Also, the ISG has function named regenerative braking system which changed the force of inertia into the electric energy when we operate brake. The ISG can assist the hybrid engine when need for power. But the ISG located near engine room is working at the severe environment relatively, so it need to take temperature for performance and endurance. In this study, we performed CFD analysis of ISG for predicting the cooling performance, and suggested enhancement points of heat dissipation structure.

The Electrical driven air-conditioning compressor is driven by sources of battery power in a hybrid vehicle or electric vehicle. The electric compressor is operated efficiently and degree of freedom of configuration location is high. The heat generation of the motor inside the electric compressor of inverter built-in type is mainly cooled by refrigerant and there is not a problem, but the increased refrigerant temperature may affect the reduction of compression performance. Also, according to the surrounding environment and system operation condition, the inverter is the possibility of going over the temperature limits. Therefore, we performed thermal analysis of compressor motor system, and suggested enhancement points of heat dissipation structure.
