      • 팔씨름 活動이 女子中學生들의 팔굽혀 매달리기 遂行에 미치는 影響

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of daily arm wrestling activities on the static upper body endurance of young school girls. The clustened sampling method was employed for selection subjects; Two classes in 2nd grade of a junior girl high school were selected. One class of 60 girls was the experimental group, and the other class of 60 was the control one. Only the experimental group performed arm wrestling 2 to 3 times every day except Sunday at the classroom for 10 weeks, while the control group did not for the same period. Flexed-arm hang test was used for measuring the static upper body endurance of both the groups. The test was performed every other weekend, 6 times including pre-test in all. The results were as follows: 1. After 10 weeks, the experimental group showed some 26% increase (Z ratio=15.11, p〈0.001) in the flexed-arm hang score, compared with the pre-tested one, but no significant increase was found in the control group. 2. About 8 weeks of arm wrestling activities was suppasedly the sufficient period for improving flexed-arm hang performance, since there was no significant gain from the 8th week on.

      • 睡眠의 短縮이 空氣小銃 射擊遂行에 미치는 影響

        The purpose of this study was to investigate (1) the length of sleep deprivation period that just began to affect air rifle shooting scores and (2) the effects of the sleep deprivation period insetted variously in ordinary sleep duration on the scores. The subjects were 9 air rifle shooting players in junior girl's high school. During the 2 experimental periods, their havitual sleep duration was 8 hours a day and their daily life was controlled according to the schedule. Repeated measurement design was used for this study. The results of this study were as follows; 1. From 1 hour's deprivation, the significant decrements began to come out. 2. When 1 hour's deprivation period was insetted in turn (1) just after going to bed, (2) between the 1st sleep 2 hours and the 2nd sleep 5 hours, (3) between the 1st 3.5 and 2nd 3.5, (4) between the 1st 5 and the 2nd 2 and (5) just before getting up, the degrees of each performance were (1) 97.0%, (2) 93.8%, (3) 93.4%, (4) 92.3% and 94.6% of ordinary days' scores.

        책가방 무게가 초등학생의 보행에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of backpack weights on elementary school boys, aged 11 to 12, were volunteered for this study. Each subject attended 4 experimental conditions by rotation design. The independent variables were four backpack weights(0%, 5%, 10%, and 20% of body weight), and the dependent variables were step length, joint angles(ankle, knee, and hip), and ranges of those joints and upper arm swing. During walking to a metronome(108 beats/min) every subject with 7 markers on his right side was filmed at 60 frames/sec with a video camera. Ariel Performance Analysis System was used for analysis of all the images taken. One way ANOVA was used, and all statistical tests were conducted at the 0.05 level of significance. The results were as the following; 1) Step length was significantly(p<0.05) affected by backpack weight. The more backpack weight increased, the shorter step length became. 2) At initial touch of heel, hip angle was significantly (p<0.001) affected by backpack weight. The heavier backpack weight increased, the smaller the initial hip angle beame. 3) At initial stance with a single leg, hip angle was significantly(p<0.01) reduced as backpack weight gained. 4) As backpack weight was gained, range of hip motion was significantly(p<0.01) increased while swing range of upper arm was significantly(p<0.05) decreased.

        The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of caffeine ingestion on metabolism during endurance exercise.Six male competive cyclists did cycling exercise on a road as far as 100㎞ at a speed of 40㎞/h.Double blind over cross method was used for the experiment.A glass of cold water containing 300㎎ caffeine was ingested 60 min before the exercise and 150㎎ caffeine was reconsumed immediately after 50㎞ cycling in the experimental trial while only a glass of cold water was consumed in the controlled trial. Blood samples were drawn from an antecubital vein 60 min before the exercise, at just before the exercise, in the middle of the exercise, and immediately after 100㎞ cycling.These samples were assayed for glucose and triglyceride.Body weights were measured before and after the exercise, and heart rates were recorded every 5 min through the exercise. The results were as follows. 1.There were no significant differences for the plasma glucose and triglyceride values between the experimental trial and the controlled trial. 2.Body weight was decreased on an average by 2.25㎏ as a result of the exercise in both the trials. 3.66.4% of subjects in the caffeine trial complained feeling like frequellt urination during the exercise.

      • 몇가지 다른 形態의 5분간 Warm-up들이 男子大學生들의 敏捷性에 미치는 效果

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of some different types of 5 minute warm-up on agility. The subjects were 90 male college students, aged 18 to 21, who were volunteers. They were randomly divided into 5 groups, which were one controlled group and four experimental ones(group Ⅰto Ⅳ). Each group consisted of 18 subjects. The warm-up prescriptions of each experimental group were general calisthenics to group Ⅰ, jogging approximately 1,000m to group Ⅱ, rope skipping to group Ⅲ, and jogging about 200m and general calisthenics with 10 hurdle stretches, 10 squat jumps and 3×10m trottings group Ⅳ. Pre-test and post-test control group design was used for this study, and Squat Trust Test was used to measure the agility of each subject. Rest interval between warm-up and the test was 3 to 4 minutes. The results were as follows; 1. Generally, warm-up was 5.6% more beneficial to agility, compared with no warm-up. 2. In the degree benefit, there was no significant difference among warm-up types.

      • Hip角度의 變化가 男子大學生들의 背筋力 成績에 미치는 影響

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the best hip angle for exerting the back strength lift, and to compare the new back lift test with the two traditional methods. The subjects for the 1st experiment were 104 college men, aged 18 to 21, who were volunteers, and for the 2nd experiment 36 of them were selected. In the 1st experiment, the subjects were equally divided into 8 groups, and according to the 8×8 rotation design each group's back lift was measured by the prescribed hip angle. In the 2nd experiment, three different back lift tests were compared one another according to the 3×3 rotation design. The results were as follows. 1. The best hip angle for exerting back strength lift was 160°, followed, in descending order, by 170°, 150°, 140°, 130°, 120°, 110°, and 100°. 2. By the new testing method with the hip angle 160°, about 5% (7kg) higher score was made at significance level p<0.01, compared with the two traditional testing methods, while there was no significant difference between the two traditional ones.

      • 準備運動이 靜的 및 動的 筋力에 미치는 效果

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a moderate warm-up on static and dynamic muscular strength. The subjects were 60 male and 60 female college students, ages 18 to 21, who were not athletically inclined. Repeated measurement design was used for this study. Each subject was tested following the two conditions that one was no warm-up and the other was a 5 minute moderate warm-up. Rest interval between warm-up and test was 5 to 8 minutes. The order of test was randomized. For the measurement of static muscular strength Back Lift Test was used, and for dynamic muscular one Vertical Jump Test was used. The results were as follows: 1. In back lift test following warm-up, male got 7.06%(9.27kg) of significant increment (p<0.001) while female got 4.06% (3.60kg) of that (0.1<p<0.2). 2. In vertical jump test, male got 8.33%(4.70cm) of significant increment (p<0.001) while female got 1.69%(2.57cm) of that(p<0.001). In conclusion, the warm-up demonstrated significant superioity of muscular performances over no warm-up, and was more helpful to male than to female in both static and dynamic muscular strength, and was more benefical to dynamic muscular strength than to static muscular one.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between 1,000m run test and four other tests, and to find the best one in them in considering the usability of test.The subjects were 31 college men who were in the department of physical education, and tested in five test items ; 1,000m run, vital capacity test, breath holding test, Foster' s test and Harvard step test. The results were as followings : 1)There were negative, moderate relationships between 1,000m running and breath holding, Foster's test and Harvard step test, and was no significant relationship between 1,000m running and vital capacity while there was a low, present but slight relationship between 1,000m running and % vital capacity. 2)In considering the usability of test, breath holding test was thought as a good substitute test for 1,000m run test. 3)Harvard step test measured both the aerobic power and anaerobic power while Foster's test mainly did aerobic power.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the immediate after-effects of various weighted preperformances on the kinesthetic perception of college men. The subjects were 56 college men, aged 18 to 21, who were volunteers. In the 1st experiment, all of them were tested according to the repeated design. In the 2nd experiment, 24 of them were equally devided into 8 groups and tested according the 8 x 8 rotation design. Distance Perception Jump Test(DPJT) was used to measure the kinesthetic ability of the subjects. The preliminary tasks for the 1st experiment were 10 trials of DPJT without weight and 10 trials of DPJT with 20% of each subject's body weight (2 treatments). and those for the 2nd experiment were 1, 4, 7 and 10 trials of DPJT with 10% of body weight and the same trials of DPJT with 20% of body weight(8treatments). During the tasks the eyes were used. In due form every subject was tested just after each of the tasks. The results were as follows: 1. There was no significant difference between 10 trials of DPJT without weight and 10 trials of DPJT with 20% of body weight, and none of them did not affect the DPJT scores of the subjects. 2. There was also no significant difference among all the treatments which were made up of weights and trials. 3. When the post-test scores (after whole tasks in the 2nd experiment) were compared with the initial test scores (before tasks), errors of distance perception were significantly decreased.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the pattern of ground reaction force(GRF) and the effect of shoe on GRF during the rapid lateral braking movement. A total of 12 male adults were asked to perform 3 to 4 lateral steps and in reverse derection 3 lateral steps at their maximum speed. The experimental variables were bare foot and shod foot. Kistler force platform, adjusting to 500Hz per channel, employed to determine time and kinetic variables. For statistical analysis paired t-test was used. The results were as follows: There were three peaks in vertical GRF and medio-lateral GRF respectively. The first vertical GRF peak(??) was 220% of body weight(BW), the second one(??) 160% of BW, and the third one(??) 150% of BW while the first medio-lateral GRF peaks(??) was 120% of BW, the second one(??) 100% of BW, and the third one(??) 90% of BW. The magnitude of vertical impact peak(??) and vertical loading rate(??) were significantly reduced by the shoe condition while the magnitude of ?? and ?? were significantly increased by the same condition.
