Objectives This study aimed to assess the role of complex Korean medicinal treatment with Chuna manual therapy in two patients with chronic pain after posterior lumbar fusion surgery. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 2 patients postoperatively based on their medical records. The surgery regions were verified using T2-weighted axial magnetic resonance imaging. Patients with chronic pain after spondylolisthesis posterior lumbar fusion surgery received complex Korean medicinal treatment with Chuna manual therapy during hospitalization. Numeric rating scale (NRS) in the degree of 0-10 and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were measured before and after treatment. Results Case 1 had an improved NRS score from 7 to 4, and Case 2 had an improved NRS score from 7 to 5. In addition, ODI score improved in both cases. Conclusions Complex Korean medicinal treatment with Chuna manual therapy is effective for relief from chronic pain after posterior lumbar fusion surgery.
WRF Model의 초기 및 경계조건 개선이 태풍 강우량 모의에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 Weather Research and Forecast(WRF) 모델의 초기조건 및 경계조건의 개선이 태풍에 의한 강우량 모의에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 태풍 매미를 대상으로 WRF 모델을 구축하고, 다양한 방법으로 초기조건 및 경계조건을 개선한 후 각각의 개선방법별로 모의된 결과를 비교하였다. 태풍 경로의 재현에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 개선방법은 태풍초기화기법의 적용으로 나타났다. 누적강우량의 재현의 경우 태풍초기화기법을 적용하였을 때 강우의 공간적인 분포 형태에 영향을 미쳤다. 또한, 다양한 경계조건 중에서 상대습도의 조정이 누적강우량에 가장 큰 영향을 미치고 있었으며, 전 지구자료에 덧붙여서 지역 관측 자료를 포함하여 WRF 모델을 구축하는 것이 지역적인 강우량 분포패턴의 재현에 유의하게 도움을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 모든 개선방법을 적용할 경우, 태풍 매미의 공간평균 시간강우량이 더 잘 재현되는 것을 살펴볼 수 있었다. In this study, it is analyzed that the influence of the improvement of the initial and boundary conditions in Weather Research and Forecast (WRF) model on reproducing typhoon rainfall. After WRF model for typhoon MAEMI is constructed and its initial and boundary conditions are improved by various methods, the results of the typhoon rainfall simulation by each improvement method are compared. The application of the typhoon initialization technique had the greatest effect on the reproduction of the typhoon path. In the sense of the accumulated rainfall depth, the application of the typhoon initialization technique had a lot of influence on the spacial distribution. In addition, the adjustment of the relative humidity among various boundary conditions had the greatest effect on the cumulative rainfall depth, and building a WRF model including the regional data in addition to the global data significantly contributed to the reproduction of the local rainfall field. When all the improvement methods were applied, it could be said that the spatially averaged hourly rainfall pattern of the typhoon MAEMI was better reproduced.

극한강우사상은 사회적으로 심각한 영향을 미칠 수 있으며, 따라서 보다 과학적으로 극한강우사상을 산정하기 위한 방법론이 필요하다. 본 연구는 지역대기모델을 이용하여 한국의 최대 강수량을 산정하기 위한 사전연구이다. 이를 위해 과거 극한강우사상 들을 조사하고 사례극한강우사상으로 태풍 루사를 선정하였다. WRF(Weather Research and Forecsting) 모델을 이용하여 태풍 루사에 대한 재현능력을 평가하였다. 태풍 루사를 재현하기 위한 최적 물리옵션은 WSM6, BMJ 그리고 MYJ로 나타났다. WRF는 시간, 공간적 측면에서 태풍 루사로 인한 강수량을 잘 재현하였다. 이러한 연구는 우리나라 최대강수량 산정을 위한 방법론에 기여할 수 있을 것이라 기대된다. The extreme precipitation events can have severe impacts on society. Thus, a methodology to more scientifically estimate the extreme event is required. This paper presented a preliminary study to estimate the maximum precipitation using regional climate model in Korea. For this purpose, the historical extreme events are surveyed and the extreme event by a typhoon Rusa is selected as the case event. This study examines the ability of the WRF(Weather Research and Forecasting) model to reconstruct the Typhoon RUSA. The combination of WSM6, BMJ and MYJ scheme was the best combination for reconstruction of Typhoon RUSA in this study. The WRF successfully simulated the observed precipitation in terms of spatial and temporal distribution. This study is expected to contribute to the new approach in estimation of maximum precipitation in Korea.
척추전방전위증 환자 45예의 요추주변근육의 지방침착도와 전위정도의 상관성에 대한 후향적 연구

Objectives Objective of this study is to investigate the role of paraspinal muscles by examining the correlation between slip percentage (SP) of spondylolisthesis and fatty infiltration of lumbar paraspinal muscle. Methods Retrospective analysis was performed on 45 patients diagnosed with spondylolisthesis based on medical records. Using T2-weighted axial magnetic resonance imaging, cross-sectional areas (CSAs) of psoas major (PM), multifidus (MU) and erector spinae (ES) were calculated and divided by CSA of lower level vertebral body (VB). SP was measured using sagittal T2-weighted images. Correlation of SP with muscle relative cross-sectional area (RCSA) and muscle fatty infiltration by Goutallier classification was respectively analyzed using Spearman correlation. Statistic assessment conducted by Wilcoxon signed rank test and paired t-test using program GraphPad prism 5 (GraphPad Software, Inc., San Diego, CA, USA). Results Spondylolisthesis forward slip percentage by Taillard's method was negatively associated with both side MU RCSAs. No significant correlation was found between PM RCSA, ES RCSA and SP. Forward slippage was significantly correlated with fatty infiltration of lumbar paraspinal muscle measured by Goutallier classification. Conclusions This study is to understand the role of paraspinal muscle affecting spinal instability by investigating correlation between statistical deviation of lumbar muscle characters (RCSA, fatty infiltration of lumbar muscle) and SP. We found that spondylolisthesis SP is positively related to fatty infiltration of lumbar paraspinal muscle. and is negatively associated with both side MU RCSAs. 본 연구에서는 원격탐사기법으로 구축된 SRTM(The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) DEM의 격자기반 분포형 강우-유출모형의 적용성을 분석하였다. 충주댐유역에 대하여 격자해상 도 500m의 SRTM DEM과 수치지형도로부터 구축한 TOPO DEM을 구축하였고, 모형의 적용을 위하여 Stream-burning 기법으로 전처리하였다. 두 DEM으로부터 표고, 흐름방향, 수문학적 경 사, 추출된 유역셀의 개수, 종단형상을 비교한 결과 SRTM DEM과 TOPO DEM이 매우 유사한 특성을 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다. 6개 강우사상을 대상으로 격자기반 분포형 강우-유출모델 KIMSTORM을 이용한 분석결과에서도 첨두유출과 유출용적의 상대오차 평균값이 각각 0.91%, 0.29%로 차이를 보이지 않았다. 분석결과로부터 SRTM DEM이 TOPO DEM과 같이 격자기반 강우-유출모형 적용시 만족할 수 있는 결과를 도출할 수 있는 지형자료임을 나타내었다. In this study, the applicability of SRTM(The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) DEM(Digital Elevation Model) which is one of the remotely sensed shuttle`s radar digital elevation was tested for use as the input data in a grid-based rainfall-runoff model. The SRTM DEM and digital topographic map derived DEM(TOPO DEM) were building with 500m spatial resolution for the Chungju-Dam watershed which located in the middle east of South Korea, and stream-burning method was applied to delineate the proper flow direction for model application. Similar topographical characteristics were shown as a result of comparing elevation, flow-direction, hydrological slope, number of watershed cell, and profile between SRTM DEM and TOPO DEM. Two DEMs were tested by using a grid-based rainfall-runoff model named KIMSTORM with 6 storm events. The results also showed no significant differences in average values of relative error for both peak runoff(0.91 %) and total runoff volume(0.29 %). The results showed that the SRTM DEM has applicability like TOPO DEM for use in a grid-based rainfall-runoff modeling.
상부 관절와순 전후방 파열(Superior Labrum tear from Anterior to Posterior)의 한의학적 치료에 대한 국내 연구 동향

Objectives The purpose of this review is to investigate the domestic trends of Korean Medicine treatments on superior labrum tear from anterior to posterior(SLAP). Methods We searched the studies on Korean Medicine treatments for SLAP by 3 Korean search engines or databases (NDSL, RISS, and OASIS). Appropriate articles were attained by the inclusion/exclusion criteria. Results 5 case reports were included. Acupuncture, Pharmacopuncture, Herbal medicines, Cupping therapy, Physical therapy, Moxibustion, Pharmacopuncture(deep region), Exercise, Chuna, Motion Style Acupuncture Treatment(MSAT) were used as interventions for SLAP. Decreased Shoulder Pain And Disability Index(SPADI) scores, Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and improved Range of motion(ROM) were reported by all 5 reports. Conclusions In this review, we analyzed the domestic trends of Korean Medicine treatments on SLAP. Although there were some limitations, we concluded complex Korean Medicine treatments could be an effective treatment for treating SLAP.
