This paper describes the design and implementation of the DMI display based on ERTMS specification for the Integrated Onboard Signaling System (IOSS). IOSS is consists of ATS ATC and ATP based on ERTMS/ETCS Level 1. We propose an improved DMI display design which has single layout concept for the IOSS. When a train is in the ATS ATC or ATP railway section it is protected by the ATS ATC or ATP equipment respectively. Therefore DMI should display the different information according to the each signaling system. We design DMI display implemented as single layout for ATP ATS and ATC information. This single layout display has a well integrated look and feel using the ERTMS specification and layout. This is for the driver to perceive the information easily and not to experience inconvenience resulting from the sense of difference when the train crossed into the different signaling section. Finally we show the implementation result following this concept.

Realistic Modeling is to maximize the reality of the environment in which perception is made by virtual environment or remote control using two or more senses of human. Especially, the field of haptic rendering, which provides reality through interaction of visual and tactual sense in realistic model, has brought attention. Haptic rendering calculates the force caused by model deformation during interaction with a virtual model and returns it to the user. Deformable model in the haptic rendering has more complexity than a rigid body because the deformation is calculated inside as well as the outside the model. For this model, Gibson suggested the 3D ChainMail algorithm using volumetric data. However, in case of the deformable model with non-homogeneous materials, there were some discordances between visual and tactual sense information when calculating the force-feedback in real time. Therefore, we propose an algorithm for the Volume Haptic Rendering of non-homogeneous deformable object that reflects the force-feedback consistently in real time, depending on visual information (the amount of deformation), without any post-processing.

In this paper a protocol design for bus network communication between onboard signalling system and MMI(Man Machine Interface) will be presented and illustrated. Recently many onboard signailling systems adopt hot standby for safety reasons. Hot standby is a method of redundancy in which the primary and secondary systems run simultaneously. It is convenient to use bus network(bus topology) in a hot standby system for communication between onboard signalling system and MMI. Because bus network is the simplest way to connect multiple clients such as onboard signalling system MMI and etc. However there are many problems when two clients want to transmit at the same time on the same bus. A effective protocol is necessary to solve that problems. We will describes protocol design which is useful when onboard signalling systems and MMIs are connected via RS485(Bus Network).
