Purpose: This study speculated the experience by mothers of an adult child with mental retardation during an adult child’s lifetime. Methods: A qualitative research method was employed using the Giorgi’s phenomenological research method. The participants were five mothers of an adult child with mental retardation. The authors interviewed the participants to listen to their experience. The participants’ statements were analyzed, and 12 sub-themes and five main themes were driven. Results: Five themes were “psychological change for disability,” “residential facilities for an adult child with disability,” “ineffectiveness of education and therapy,” “marriage of an adult child with disability,” and “information management for an adult child with disability.” Conclusion: First, the mothers of an adult child with mental retardation experienced psychological change for disability issues. Second, the mothers currently experienced the needs for residential care facilities. Third, the mothers regarded their efforts for education and therapy as ineffective. Fourth, the mothers were reluctant to let their adult child get married. Finally, an information management was essential for caring an adult child with mental retardation after their parents’ death.
미술학사 취득자의 미술치료 석사과정 경험 연구 : 교과과정 및 임상훈련과정 중심으로

Purpose: This study researched the master's course in art therapy that those who had graduated from college of art experienced, through which it purported to examine what they experienced and what meaning and essence they had. Methods: It applied Giorgi's phenomenological research method, which is a qualitative research method. The participants was those who had obtained a master's degree in art therapy after majoring in art in undergraduate school. After In-depth interviews the participants' statements were analyzed and derived 29 sub-constituents and 10 constituents. Results: The constituents are Expectation of the study of art therapy; Feeling the study of theory-centered courses beyond their capacity; Feeling a lack of logic language skills; Difficulty in internal art works; Viewpoint that puts emphasis on aesthetic sense; Recognition that the formative ability which is cultivated through art experience becomes a resource; Acquisition of the feeling of self-value by showing creativity; Change in the sense of values of art; Expansion and integration of viewpoints; Continuous impatience for the study. Conclusion: First, in art therapy 'art' is not aesthetic sense-centered art, but the internal language, and it is treatment medium that leads to self-growth. Second, those who major in art are concentrated on visual thinking and subjective expressions so they can be short of logical language skill, but in order to work as professionals well, they need to train it. Third, the formative ability and the creativity that were cultivated while they majored in art become resources. Fourth, in order for those who majored in art to adapt to change of educational background and to do their best role in clinical field, psychological foundation should be constructed in a bachelor's course.
어머니 애착유형과 결혼갈등 , 자녀양육행동 및 아동행동문제와의 관계

This study examined how the attachment styles of married mothers influence their marital conflicts and caring behavior and the behavior problems of their children. Subjects were 60 mothers and their 60 elementary school children. Data were analyzed with correlation, multiple analysis of variance and path analysis. Mothers with unstable attachment styles had more children with behavior problems and they had more serious marital conflicts. Mother`s with preoccupied attachment styles experienced more marital conflict than all other styles. Seriousness of marital conflict was related to negative caring behavior and negative caring behavior was related to behavior problems in children. There were direct paths between the attachment style of mothers and both externalized and internalized behavior problems of children in the clinical group.
여중생들이 경험하는 동성 친구와의 갈등에 대한 현상학적 체험연구

Purpose : The objective of this study is to figure out what kind of conflicts middle school girls have with their same sex friends and what they experience and learn through the conflicts and to provide primary data with the middle school girls who are suffering from conflicts with their friends. Furthermore, this study aims to know how they form an intimate friendship with their same sex friends through the experience of conflicts. Method: One of quality research methods of hermeneutic phenomenology by Max Van Manen was adapted for this study and 17 girls who are in the 1st ∼ 3rd grade of a middle school were intensively interviewed from August to November in 2007 and their poems and pictures were collected, too. Result : As a result of analyzing what the middle school girls had experience through the conflicts with their same sex friends, 9 ultimate themes have been basically categorized. ‘They tend to get estranged from their close same sex friends who treat them with a careless and rude manner’, ‘They hope that their same sex friends associate more intimately with them than with any others’, ‘The number of friends could be a cause of a conflict’, ‘They tend to have an antipathy against a friend who consider them as a competitor or a rival’, ‘Even though they feel the state of lassitude with their same sex friends, they have a tendency to avoid and ignore it’, ‘Try to get it over thinking the troubles that they would get in the future’, ‘They have hard time enduring the situation of conflicts with their same sex friends’, ‘A third person could help them to solve the problems with their same sex friends’, ‘The conflicts with their same sex friends could result in a better relationship in the long run’.
