Chip on board type white light emitting diode on metal core printed circuit board with high thixotropy silicone is fabricated by vacuum printing encapsulation system. Encapsulant is chosen by taking into account experimental results from differential scanning calorimeter, shearing strength, and optical transmittance. We have observed that radiant flux and package efficacy are increased from 336 mW to 450 mW and from 11.9 lm/W to 36.2 lm/W as single dome diameter is varied from 2.2 mm to 2.8 mm, respectively. Double encapsulation structure with 2.8 mm of dome diameter shows further significant enhancement of radiant flux and package efficacy to 667 mW and 52.4 lm/W, which are 417 mW and 34.8 lm/W at single encapsulation structure, respectively.
부유식 수직축 풍력발전 시스템의 운동특성 및 계류특성에 대한 연구

This paper presents the results of an experimental study on the motions and mooring characteristics of a floating vertical axis wind turbine system. Based on a comparison of regular wave experiment results, the motions of structures with different types of mooring are almost the same. Based on the tension response results of a regular wave experiment with a catenary mooring system, the mooring lines in front of the structure have a larger tension effect than the back of the structure by the drifted offset of the structure. The dynamic response spectrum of the structure in the irregular wave experiments showed no significant differences in response to differences in the mooring system. As a result of the comparison of the tension response spectra, the mooring lines have a larger value with a drifted offset for the structure, as shown in the previous regular wave experiment. The results of the dynamic response of the structure under irregular wave and wind conditions showed that the heave motion response is influenced by the coupled effect with the mooring lines of the surge and pitch motion due to the drifted offset and steady heeling. In addition, the mooring lines in front of the structure have a very large tension force compared to the mooring lines in back of the structure as a result of the drifted offset of the structure.
VPES 방식을 이용한 R.G.B.Y LED 광원 제작

본 연구에서는 고집적 R.G.B.Y 단일 광원을 개발하기 위하여 평면상의 COB 형태의 패키지에 VPES (Vacuum Printing Encapsulation System) 공법을 적용하였다. 전산 모사 결과 Hyperbolic 형태가 가장 높은 광 추출을 보였으며, 실제 패키징 한 실험 결과 에서는 80℃(1시간) - 150℃(1시간)에서 Curing한 Spherical 형태의 봉지형태가 광 출력이 우수하였다. 이 실험을 토대로 R, G, B, Y 패키지를 제작하여 광 특성을 측정한 결과 CRI는 88, CCT는 5,720K, Efficacy는 52 ㏐/W의 효율을 보였다.

A cylindrical structure has a very long period of heave and pitch motion response in ocean waves. To obtain the dynamic stability of a cylindrical structure, it is necessary to obtain the suitable metacentric height (GM). However, in a structure with sufficient metacentric height, Mathieu instability can occur if the natural frequency of the heave motion is double the natural frequency of the roll and pitch motion. This study carried out numerical calculations and experiments for vertical-axis wind turbines with cylindrical floaters, which had three different centers of gravity. In the regular wave experiment, the divergence of the structure motion without yaw was observed when the natural frequency of the heave motion was double the natural frequency of the roll and pitch motion. In the irregular wave experiment, the motion spectra of the structures with the different centers of gravity were compared, and one was very high when the natural frequency of the heave motion was double the natural frequency of the roll and pitch motion.
진공 프린팅 성형 인쇄법(VPES)을 이용한 R.G.B.Y(Red, Green, Blue, Yellow) LED 광원 연구

In order to develop highly-integrated RGBY(Red, Green, Blue, Yellow) LED light, a high thermal radiation ceramic package was manufactured, and the encapsulation process was applied with a vacuum printing encapsulation system(VPES). After the completion of vacuum printing, the shape of the encapsulation layer could be controlled by heat treatment during the curing process, and the optical power became highly increased as the encapsulation layer approached a dome shape. The optical characteristics involved in a Correlated Color Temperature(CCT), a Color Rendering Index (CRI), and the efficiency of RGBY LED light were able to be identified by the experimental designing method. Regarding the characteristics of the white light of RGBY LED light, which were measured on the basis of the aforementioned optical characteristics, CRI posted 88, CCT recorded 5,720[°K], and efficiency exhibited 52[lm/W]. The chip temperature of RGBY LEDs was below 55[℃] when the consumption power of LED chips was 0.1[W] for the red, 0.3[W] for the green, 0.08[W] for the blue, and 0.24[W] for the yellow. Also, the thermal resistance of the highly-integrated RGBY LED light measured by T3Ster was 2.3[K/W].

본 연구에서는 나이트라이드계와 실리케이트계 적색 형광체의 효율 및 열적 안정성, 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위하여 인듐(Ⅲ)아이소프로폭사이드(C9H21InO3)를 졸-겔 반응(Sol-Gel reaction)을 통하여 코팅하였다. 졸-겔 코팅 후 형광체 표면을 관찰한 결과 코팅 횟수에 따라 박막 표면 코팅층이 1회 코팅시보다 4회 코팅시 130㎚이상 두꺼워졌다. 코팅 횟수에 따른 효율 및 온도에 따른 열적 안정성은 실리케이트계 형광체에 비하여, 나이트라이드계 형광체가 우수하였다. 85℃85Rh% 신뢰성 test(700시간) 후 효율 감소율은 코팅 전 나이트라이드계 형광체 9%, 실리케이트계 형광체 19%였으며, 4회 코팅 후 나이트라이드계 7%, 실리케이트계 14%로 신뢰성에 개선 효과를 보였다.
LED용 실리콘 봉지재의 경화방법이 신뢰성에 미치는 영향

Encapsulant curing in terms of convection oven leads to thermal induced stress due to nonuniform thermal conductivity in LED package. We have adopted infrared (IR) light for silicone curing in order to release the stress. The light uniformity irradiated on an encapsulant surface is confirmed to be uniform by optical simulation. Shear strength of die paste using IR compared to convection oven is increased 19.2% at the same curing time, which indicates curing time can be shortened. The indentation depth difference between center and edge of silicone encapsulant in terms of convection oven and IR are 14.8% and 3.4%, respectively. Curing by IR also shows 2.3% better radiant flux persistency rate of LED at $85^{\circ}C$ after 1,000 h reliability test compared to convection curing.
