Due to the increase of oil price, the needs of the reduction of the fuel cost is rising. Therefore, necessity of hybrid vehicle that runs with engine and the electric motor is on the rise. In order to improve the performance of hybrid vehicle, many researches is carried out. Hybrid vehicles have been developed with the various layout such as serial type, parallel type, power split type, and multi-mode type. The multi-mode hybrid vehicles are designed to show the efficient driving characteristics at low speed and high speed. But the multi-mode system have the problem such as frequent clutch engagement. Frequent clutch engagement causes the shock of vehicles, and the shock inhibits the ride comfort. In this study, automation mechanism of clutch operation is proposed to mitigate the shock at engaging clutch. For this purpose, the dynamic characteristics of motor control is numerically analyzed by using Matlab/Simulink.

The core of the automotive industry’s strategy to handle the climate change can be explained as the development and distribution of the vehicles with high fuel efficiencies and low emission. Clean Diesel, hydrogen fuel cell, electric, and especially hybrid power-train vehicles have been actively studied. This paper dynamically analyzes the performance of a hybrid systems five driving modes. The research subject consists of one engine, two electric motors, two simple planetary gears, and one compound planetary gears with five clutches. To define the steady state equation of the system, interaction formulas of five driving modes are introduced with motion variables and torque variables. These formulas are then used to analyze the speeds, torques, and power flows of each mode.

Because of the increases in international oil prices and the level of global warming, the automotive industry has much interest in developing green cars with high fuel efficiencies. In addition, researchers in Korea are actively responding to high oil prices and CO₂ emission regulations in many ways. One example is, the multi-mode hybrid system, which is being studied to improve its performance. Because a multi-mode hybrid system is able to overcome the weaknesses of a system that uses simple planetary gears, excellent fuel efficiency and driving performances are the key features of the system. This paper analyzes the driving performance of the power-train system of GM-2MT70, which consists of one engine, two electric motors, one simple planetary gear, one double planetary gear, two clutches, and two brakes. The driving performance of the systems steady state is analyzed using performance modeling. The dynamic performance is analyzed using Matlab Simulink.

본 연구의 목적은 하이브리드 시스템의 구조별 성능 분석 프로그램을 개발하고 각각의 구조에 대한 성능을 분석하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 주요 동력 발생/전달 요소인 모터/제너레이터, 변속기, 배터리에 대한 모델을 구성하였다. 이로부터 각 단품 별 성능 평가 모듈을 구성할 수 있었다. 이들 프로그램을 시험하기 위해 각 단품들이 하나의 동력전달계를 구성하도록 프로그램을 완성하여 시험 입력 토크에 의해 차량의 상태가 변화하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 각 단품들의 상태를 계산하여 성능 평가프로그램의 신뢰도를 검증하였다.

General vehicle is evaluated by its acceleration, fuel economy, NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) and subjective (such as launching feel) performance. The first step to enhance its performance is to know how much each component affects on the vehicle performance. It is very important to know what is the key factor of the component among many specifications. Hydraulic torque converter can be expressed by means of its performance curve (torque ratio and capacity factor). In this paper, the key factor of torque converter, which affect vehicle performance, are explored by using Taguchi method. Moreover, general sensitivity analysis method is compared with Taguchi's experiment.
