The present studies were attempted to extend and confirm the previous studies concerning the role of appendix in immune response, and. were undertaken in order to define the distribution of lymphocyte bearing rabbit thymus specific antigen (RTA) in the rabbit lymphoid organs. For the detection of lymphocyte bearing RTA, lymphocytoxicity and indirect immunofluorescence were' employed with goat anti-rabbit thymocyte serum. An early hemagglutinin response in rabbit injected intravenously with 200mcg of bovine gamma globulin (BGG) was abolished by appendectomy and whole body irradiation(900g), but preserved in rabbits whose bone marrow was shielded. during irradiation and autologons appendix cells were reconstituted. These results support strongly the view that rabbit appendix apparently plays a role in immune response. It was demonstrated by cytotoxicity test that approximatly 97% of thymocytes, 40% spleen lymphocytes, 75% of lymph node lymphocyte and 21% of appendix cells were RTA-bearing. It was found by indirect immunofluorescene that 95% of thymocytes, 39% of spleen lymphocytes, 66% of lymph-node lymphocytes and 14% of appendix cells were RTA-bearing.

In this paper, four types of solderable polymer composites (SPCs) with different reductant concentration (0, 7.5, 15 and 30 phr) were formulated to investigate the influence of reductant concentration within the SPCs on the coalescence and wetting behaviors of low-melting-point alloy (LMPA) fillers. Two types of wettability test including solder ball wetting (solder ball diameter: 760 ㎛) and solder powder wetting (solder powder diameter: 42 ㎛ and 30 vol%) tests were conducted. Additionally, to examine the chemical reactions of polymer composite depending on the reductant concentration, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis was conducted for the mixture of polymer and reductant. The LMPA fillers within the SPC with a reductant concentration of 15 phr showed excellent coalescence and wetting behaviors for the Cu metallization because of the favorable removal of surface oxide film on the LMPA fillers and metallization. Meanwhile, the selective wetting properties of LMPA with a reductant concentration greater than 15 phr showed decreasing tendency due to the shift of curing temperature to the low temperature range because of the increased chemical reaction between the reductant and epoxy. These results demonstrate that the optimal reductant concentration exist to achieve the most favorable coalescence and wetting behaviors of LMPA fillers for the metallization.

In this paper, novel carbon nanotube (CNT)-filled Solderable electrically conductive adhesive (ECA) and joining process have been developed. To investigate the bonding characteristics of CNT-filled Solderable ECA, three types of Solderable ECAs with different CNT weight percent (0, 0.1, 1wt%) were formulated. For a joining process, the quad flat package (QFP) chip was used. The QFP chip had a size of 14 × 14 × 2.7 mm and a 1 mm lead pitch. The test board had a Cu daisy-chained pattern with 18m thick. After the bonding process, the bonding characteristics such as morphology of conduction path, electrical resistance and pull strength were measured for each formulated ECAs. As a result, the electrical and mechanical bonding characteristics for a QFP joints using CNT-filled ECA were improved about 10% compared to those of QFP joints using ECA without CNT.
