This paper intends to analyze different perspectives of the two translators, reflected into the two versions of Korean translation of Native Speaker (1995), the first novel written by the Korean-American novelist Chang-rae Lee. As literary translation is a product of another form of the translator`s personal reading of the text, different versions of translation often indicate different perspectives of translators toward the original text, and these differences become more important to understanding the meaning and value of the work, more than endless debates regarding mistranslation of the text. Hyun`s Korean translation of 1995 attempts to situate Lee`s novel under the umbrella of Korean literature, considering the theme of the novel as Korean immigrants` nostalgia for Korean culture and identity. This perspective leads to more natural translation with the frequent use of Korean cultural equivalents, trying to remind Korean readers of cultural connection to the author. However, Chung`s translation of 2003 views Lee`s novel as part of contemporary American literature which deals with the alienated life of immigrants in the multi-cultural society of America in which these immigrants are required to create a new kind of hybrid identity. This perspective is reflected in Chung`s careful attention to word choice, sentence structure and stylistic characteristics, often found in poetry translation. However, this difference does not exclusively derive from the translators` personal views on the novel. Rather, it has been critically influenced by the elevated status of the writer as one of the most representative contemporary American writer, not anymore Korean-American writer. Also, more careful attention in Chung`s translation to the writer`s style and literary identity leads to the translator`s efforts to keep Lee`s linguistic elegance and literary style intact in the translation, often creating poetic effect. Literary translation is never a form of perfect and omniscient reading of the text by a translator, and, in this sense, analyzing translators` perspectives reflected in the translations of the same novel provides a valuable tool to understanding the text from different perspectives.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza could not be identified visually. It takes time to identify the symptoms by its incubation period. Without taking a quick step, the diffusion area of HPAI has dramatically increased, the extent of damage becomes bigger. In network research, the algorithm of finding the central node on the network applied to various diffusion of epidemic problems, was used in control system of tracing the diffusion path, blocking central nodes. This study tried to make the diffusion of HPAI network model for the crowded farms area, and reduce the diffusion rate to control the high-risk farms.
스마트폰 내장 가속도계와 카메라를 이용한 케이블 장력 추정에 관한 연구

Estimation of cable tension through proper measurements is one of the essential tasks in evaluating the safety of cable structures. In this paper, a study on cable tension estimation using the built-in accelerometer and camera in a smartphone was conducted. For the experimental study, visual displacement measurement using a smartphone camera and acceleration measurement using a built-in accelerometer were performed in the cable-stayed bridge model. The estimated natural frequencies and transformed tensions from these measurements were compared with the theoretical values and results from the normal visual displacement method. Through comparison, it can be seen that the error between the method using the smartphone and the normal visual displacement is sufficiently small to be acceptable. It has also been shown that those errors are much smaller than the difference between the values calculated by the theoretical model. These results show that the deviation according to the type of measurement method is not large and it is rather important to use an appropriate mathematical model. In conclusion, in the case of cable tension estimation, it can be said that the visual displacement measurement and acceleration using a smartphone can be a sufficiently applicable method, just like the normal visual displacement method. It is also noteworthy that the smartphone accelerometer has a larger magnitude error and has more limitations such as high-frequency sampling instability compared to the visual displacement method, but shows almost the same performance as the visual displacement method in this cable tension estimation.

Purpose : To apply to Program of Auto processor quality control after comparison of Film density variations with amendments to Auto density by using Check density program and Adjust density program of calibration mode into the Laser imager. Methods : Observe Check and Adjust density variations on the Control chart with standard step and value during seven months from December, 1995 to June, 1956 extending twice a week. (1) Measure density value on the steps after printing out 17-step sensitometric pattern of the Check density program. (2) In the same way, measure density values after amending density by using Adjust density program If they are exceeding allowable error limit. Results : In case of Check density program, the exceeding limit rates of Density difference(DD) and Middle density(MD) are: FL-IM3543 DD=75%. MD=72.5%, FL-IMD DD=0%. MD=30.8%(14.5%) After amending density by using Adjust density program, the exceeding limit rates of all both Laser imager were zero percent. The standard deviations are show lower FL-IM D than FL-IM3543 on the Check density control chart, but higher on the Adjust density control chart. Conclusion : (1) Check density variations by printingout sensitometric pattern extending once a week at least for quality control of the Laser imager. (2) In case of a dusty place, check the Laser beam transmission after cleaning Laser optical unit extending once a month. (3) Be sure to measure and check density values by using adjust density program if they are exceeding allowable error limit. (4) Maintain much better film density by performing the adjust density program even if check density values are existed within normal limit.
