Present postmodern and multicultural condition drive us to reflect on introducing religious education into public schools. The purpose of this study was to suggest some urgent reasons for having religious education in public schools and to deduce its roles from those reasons. The result is as following. Religious education is required largely for three reasons. First, it is needed for religious literacy in liberal education. Second, it is required for cultivating mutual respects for civic purpose. And finally, it is required for moral education, giving a supportive framework for moral deliberation. From these, two large roles are deduced: one for liberal education, the other for civic education. For liberal aspect, religious education has to secure students` spiritual growth and to prepare them to face multiculture, and for the civic aspect, it must have students equipped with `reasonable disagreement` required for deliberative democracy.
자동차 인포테인먼트 네트워크를 위한 1394 오토모티브 분석 및 구현
한일석(IlSeok Han),김병수(ByoungSoo Kim) 한국자동차공학회 2009 한국자동차공학회 학술대회 및 전시회 Vol.2009 No.11
This paper introduces a new 1394 automotive multimedia network for in-vehicle infotainment and telematics applications. These require a large amount of data to be transmitted on-board and also exchanged with the external world. Because of a large amount of data, conventional in-vehicle networks could not be used in infotainment systems which QoS(Quality Of Service) required. Ethernet, 1394 Automotive, and MOST are vying for a slice of the rapidly expanding these applications. In this paper, the 1394 automotive network was adopted in order to apply these domains. A new design method to transmit simultaneously multiple real-time audio and video are also introduced. We also present an analysis of different protocols and technologies used in in-vehicle multimedia networks.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the neuroscientific findings of morality and examine their implications for moral education. Specifically it aimed to clarify their positions in moral or psychological outlooks, identify the main points in their findings, and draw out some practical suggestions for moral education. The result is as following. It is found that the neuroscientific findings came out of an implicit assumption of monism or physicalism and with a favor of or consilience with virtue theory in their outlooks. The main achievements in their research findings are found in the negation of 'free will', the localization of 'moral' brain, and the new emphasis on the role of emotion in moral judgment. The findings altogether suggest the need for a new balancing of cognitive and emotive sides of moral training, a new emphasis on prenatal care and infant nutrition, and the importance of practice.
인간성의 재옹호와 교육 - Raymond Tallis의 철학적 인간학을 중심으로
한일조(Han, Ill-Jo) 한국교육철학회 2018 교육철학 Vol.66 No.-
Present understanding of humanity is a kind of pessimism based on biological reductionism. However, an English physician and philosopher, Raymond Tallis, notwithstanding his career as neurologist, criticizes the scientistic interpretation of humanity, and then emphasizes some grounds for new humanism. His themes for new humanity consist of handkindness, existential intuition, and explicit knowledge. Educators thus could pursue the enlightenment project of human enhancement and progress based on reasonableness of men.
차례 : 공감(empathy)에 대한 신경과학적 설명과 그 교육적 함의
한일조 ( Iii Jo Han ) 한국교육철학회 2012 교육철학 Vol.46 No.-
The purpose of this study was to examine the explanations of empathy in neuroscientific studies, and draw out some implications for social and moral education. Especially, the study tried to focus on the origins and mechanisms of empathy. The result is as following. The main explanation of empathy in neuroscience is consist of the theory of evolutionary origin of human brain and some hypothetical theories concerning the phenomena of affective sharing and perspective taking. The relationship of empathy with prosocial or helping behaviors is still to be verified. The findings suggest the need for a more heightened interest in indirect experiences, more use of being-imitated, emotional contagion of positive feelings, and somewhat methodically detached caring of parents and teachers.
