We have studied Al_xFe_(3-x)O₄ produced by direct composition method using X-ray diffraction and Mssbauer spectroscopy. The cation distribution for Al_xFe_(3-x)O₄ was determined by the ratio of sub-spectra absorption area. The charge state of Fe atoms in octahedral site(B-site) is Fe^(2.5+) based on electron hopping, Fe²+ ↔ (Fe³+, Al³+) without dependency of substituted Al amounts.
소금 - 촉매에 의한 M형 Barrium Ferrite의 제조 및 Mossbauer 분광학적 연구

Hexagonal M-type barium ferrite (BaFe₁₂O_(19)) was prepared by a direct solid state reaction between BaCO₃ and α-Fe₂O₃ powders at temperatures ranging from 800 to 1000 ℃ in a nitrogen or air environment. The effects of NaCl on phase transformation of mixture of BaCO₃ and α-Fe₂O₃ to BaFe₁₂O_(19) were studied using X-ray diffraction and Mossbauer spectroscopy. Regardless of the environment for heat treatment or the added NaCl, two phases, BaFe and α-Fe₂O₃, coexist for samples heat treated at 800 ℃, but a single phase was observed from samples heat treated at 1000 ℃ in both air and nitrogen environments. It was found that the addition of NaCl reduced the amount of a-Fe₂O₃ phase.
사인파속도형 Mossbauer 분광계의 속도눈금 매기기와 Magnetite의 Mossbauer 분광법에 의한 연구

We have gone into details about the velocity calibration of sinusoidal mode for Mossbauer spectrometer. Since sinusoidal Mossbauer spectrometer has a γ-ray source that oscillates at the end of loudspeaker with the natural frequency, Doppler velocity is accurate and stable. From the analyzing Mossbauer spectra of Fe₃O₄ and U-Fe₃O₄ (unbalanced Fe₃O₄), we have shown the power of correct velocity for sinusoidal mode.

We have calculated the reduced spontaneous magnetization in different environments and average value as function of reduced temperature of the magnetic ions(Fe) for A(tetrahedral) and B(octahedral) sites in spinel ferrites AB₂O₄ using A-O-B superexchange interaction. The reduced spontaneous magnetization and average value by A-O-B superexchange interaction are compared with that by A-B direct interaction. To contrast A-O-B superexchange interaction with A-B direct interaction, Mossbauer spectra from previous two interactions are obtained.
α-Fe₂O₃ 미세입자의 크기분포에 관한 Mossbauer 분광학적 연구

α-Fe₂O₃ was accomplished by chemical method as low temperature as possible and the crystallographic and magnetic properties have been studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The sample heated at 150 ℃ is found to have a Corundums symmetry with the hexagonal lattice constant a=8.26±0.05Å, c=8.75±0.05Å. The Mossbauer spectra between the 4.2K and the room temperature show that the α-Fe₂O₃ crystalized with a single phase and fine sizes. The particle size distribution has the Gaussian distribution center at 98Å and the half width of 32Å.
