본 연구에서는 학습자가 가상공간 내에서 교육 컨텐츠를 자연스럽게 조작할 수 있는 멀티모달 인터페이스 제어 모듈을 제시한다. 제안하는 모듈은 사용자가 가상공간과 인터랙션을 할 때 사용자의 모션을 인식하고 인식된 정보를 무선통신을 통하여 가상공간으로 전달한다. 제안하는 입력장치는 햅틱 액츄에이터를 탑재하고 있어 교육 컨텐츠와 사용자의 인터랙션에 따른 햅틱 감각을 생성하여 사용자가 교육용 컨텐츠들을 쉽게 조작할 수 있게 해 준다. This paper suggests a multimodal interface control module which allows a student to naturally interact with educational contents in virtual environment. The suggested module recognizes a user`s motion when he/she interacts with virtual environment and then conveys the user`s motion to the virtual environment via wireless communication. Futhermore, a haptic actuator is incorporated into the proposed module in order to create haptic information. Due to the proposed module, a user can haptically sense the virtual object as if the virtual object is exists in real world.

In this paper, 3D information extracting system using laser slit light and tow CCD cameras is proposed. Distance image expression method and the interpolation algorithm for obtained 3D information are also discussed. Finally, experimental results are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed systems and algorithms.

This paper presents an algorithm for the acquisition of height value of arbitrary points on contour map. Acquired map image is processed by a thinning process. Through a local feature classifier of legend, its position and digit string are extracted. Shorter lines are generated by removal of neighboring pixels of diverging point and lines shorter than threshold are eliminated as noise. To connect the disconnected contour line, end point is connected to another one nearest to adjacent end point centered by summit and not cross the another contour line. Decreasing height value with equal ratio is assigned to every contour line met by the left and right direction scan line from summit. To calculate height value at a point, distance ratio between it and neighboring contour lines or between summit and contour line is considered. Employing these steps, proposed algorithm successfully assigns height value to arbitrary points. Acquired information can be applied to the generation of detailed contour map and 3D reconstruction of it.

The personal seal is mainly used in eastern cultural area. Even if the frequency in use of it is gradually decreasing due to the simplification of administrative affairs, it is still used with caution to make use of one's right of property and to authenticate many other sensitive matters related to real estate in Korea. Because of the reasons mentioned above, it is uncomfortable to be issued a certificate of a legal seal impression. One has to attend the local office where his seal is registered to get a certification. There are several obstacles have to be solved to computerize it such as DB construction of precise seal images and recognition system with the registered legal seal images and input one. This paper describes the personal seal recognition system from image input procedure to sequential processes which provide the basis of interpretation centered on the final decision algorithm. Even though hardware device would be necessitated to construct a better recognition system, as a prototype, many image processing techniques and algorithms have been adopted and devised to solve the problem in a software point of view.
