The more feeding distance of substation is long and travel vehicle increases in feeding section, power supply reaches the limits. And if it exceeds the limit, it causes a serious trouble for train operation. Therefore, it is designed that the number of train increases constantly until 2030. So consistent power supply according to the increasement of vehicle in power system at present Seoul-Pusan high speed railway, regular operation in case of extended feeding occurring accidents in substation and the least headway scheduled at relevant section in case of impossible extended feeding is examined.

Energy Storage System(ESS) is installed at feeding line of railway substation. ESS will absorb regenerative energy when train braking and also charge electric energy when feeding line is no load condition. Absorbed and charged energy will be supplied when train is accelerating condition. Due to ESS the energy variation will be minimized and this effect is estimated.

Energy Storage System(ESS) is installed at feeding line of substation with the energy storage capacity 42[MJ] in high speed railroad. ESS decrease the load fluctuation and the peak load, which can stabilize the collecting voltage and detrease maximum power load value. In this paper, fluctuation of the electric energy will be simulated with the capacity of 42[MJ] ESS. Also it will be estimated whether energy capacity with 42[MJ] is sufficient, and the reasonable capacity for satisfying maximum power decrease.

In order to analyze the power consumption pattern of the DC urban rail system, the method to obtain a solution establishing the current equation according to fixed position of the substation and varying position of the train is used. The proposed analysis method using the network analysis is to model the transfer function of the component constituting a direct current power supply system (dc substation, train, catenary) to the voltage and current. By multiplying the model formula consecutive, it can calculate the voltage and current of each element of power supply circuit and shows a simple case analysis.
영구자석을 이용한 Shield moving형 와전류 제동기의 철도시스템 적용연구

The railway ECB(Eddy Current Brake) is used for high speed vehicle of railway like as TGV, ICE, JR-500 because it has stable braking force at high speed. But it is not effective at low speed and it is difficult to save energy due to the excitation of electro-magnet. Although ECB with permanent magnet is used for roller-coaster, it can not control the braking force without clutch. In this paper, the shield moving ECB with PM is proposed for application of railway vehicle. The angle of shield can be changed for various braking force. It changes the flux amount from PM, then the braking force will be reduced. The brake of 800W is simulated by using the software, “Ansoft Maxwell”. The characteristics of braking will be shown by the shapes of magnet, disk and various speeds.

To leading subway technology Advanced Urban Transit System is developed by national research and development. Next-generation trains equipped with direct driving permanent magnet traction motor and individually controlled propulsion system. Electromagnetic properties of the Next-Generation Train from four perspectives will be discussed. The first is closely related to human hazards that affect the 60Hz low frequency electromagnetic field. The Second is inductive noise that affect railroad signal system. The third is conductive noise that affect communication line near railroad. The 4th is radiation noise that may affect electronic equipment near the railroad tracks.

This paper is analysis of multiple factor that should be considered in the design of an eddy current brake used as auxiliary brake system. The eddy current brake is a brake that generates a braking torque in a rotational direction opposite to the direction of the rotor by using a time-varying magnetic flux. The eddy current brake has the advantage of being able to take high current densities because this is used for a short period of time. Also, the eddy current brake is influenced by multiple factor such as number of slots, teeth width, coating thickness, air-gap length and so on. Therefore the eddy current brake was designed for use in railway application in consideration of the operation region and critical parameters.
