Tensile properties and fracture behavior of AISI 4340 steel have been measured as a function of tempering temperature from 200℃ to 600℃ and measured direction. The tensile and yield strengths, and the hardness of specimens decreased with increasing tempering temperature and these did not vary much with test direction, whereas the ductility and toughness increased with tempering temperature. The reduction ratio in rolling direction had the higher value compared with that in transverse direction, the charpy impact value and the fracture toughness increased with increasing tempering temperature, the properties in the rolling direction were superior to those in the transverse direction, and the relation between K_(IC) and CVN values showed (K_(IC)/σ ys)² = 0.382 (CVN/σ ys+0.01) in the rolling direction and (K_(IC)/σ ys)²= 0.582 (CVN/σ ys-0.000054) in the transverse direction.
Effects of the Temperature of the Universe on Black-Hole Evaporations

Assuming that black holes are in thermal equilibrium with the Universe, which is considered a heat bath, we investigated the finite-temperature effect of the Universe on black-hole evaporation. We found that if a black hole receives cosmic background radiation from the Universe, it steadily acquires mass if its initial mass is greater than the critical mass Mc = (8TU/TP ) 1MP ; where TU is the temperature of the Universe, TP and MP are the Planck temperature and the mass respectively. If the initial mass of the black hole is less than Mc; it evaporates at a finite time te: For TU 2:725 K; the average temperature of microwave background radiation, the critical mass is approximately equal to 4:5 1019 kg; or 2:26 10 13M⊙:
큐물런트 전개와 양자물리학적 섭동에 의한 에너지의 이동

By applying the cumulant expansion and Gell-Mann and Low theorem to the time-independent perturbations, we show that the energy shifts can be obtained easily. Especially, the series expansion of the energy shift obtained by using a perturbation is equal to the cumulant expansion of the action operator corresponding to the perturbing potential energy operator. 양자물리학의 시간에 무관한 섭동의 계산을 위해 겔만과 로우의 정리와큐물런트 전개를 사용하면 섭동에 의한 에너지의 이동은 모든 차수에대해서 간단히 구해짐을 보였다. 특히 에너지의 이동의 섭동론적 전개는섭동 퍼텐셜에너지에 해당하는 작용량 연산자의 큐물런트 전개와 같다.

Changes in arterial blood gases and, cardiac rhythms associated with bronchofiberscopic examinations were studied in 23 patients with various pulmonary diseases. Analyses of arterial blood gases and electrocardiograms were made before and during examinations, During the bronchoscopy the arterial oxygen tension fell significantly by a mean of 11.8mmHg, but arterial pH and carbon dioxide tension showed no significant changes. The arrhythmias developed during bronchoscopy were sinus tachycardia, premature atrial contractions, and premature ventricular contractions. All of these appeared in patients of above 50 years of age, particularly in those with electrocardiogrphic findings of left ventricular hypertrophy, and in a case of old myocardial infarction. These facts suggest that it is advisable during bronchoscopy to give supplemental oxygen to the patients with an initial arterial oxygen tension of 60mmHg or less, and also to monitor electrocardiograms in the aged and in those with clinical heart disease or electrocardiographic abnormalities.

본 연구는 복지에 대한 이미지를 오스굿(Osgood, C. E.)의 의미분석법을 활용하여, 대학생들이 인식한 복지이미지를 파악해 봄으로써, 복지에 대한 인식을 살펴보고자 한다. 특히, 요소구성 특성별 측정법 중에서 의미차별법에 의한 연구는 그간의 복지 인식이나 복지이미지 관련 연구들과는 차별성을 띠고 있다. 이와 같이, 본 연구는 특성 용어를 통한 복지이미지를 분석해 요인 도출 및 명명과 분류 검증을 시도한다. 또한 복지이미지의 전반적 인식, 그리고 일반적 특성에 따른 차원별 비교를 통해 대학생들의 복지 인식을 분석했다. 본 연구의 분석 결과, 복지이미지의 하위 차원에 대한 요인분석은 복지이미지 중 기대 차원에 대해서는 약간의 능력이 있는 것으로 긍정적인 인식을 보였고, 활동 차원에 대해서는 부정적으로 인식하고 있다. 또한 인구특성상 평균비교를 통해 살펴보면, 복지이미지 중 기대 차원에 대한 성별, 연령, 소속 학문 계열, 학년, 장래 희망 분야의 집단 간 평균의 차이가 유의미하게 나타났다. 복지이미지 중 활동 차원에 대해서는 연령, 학년의 집단 간 평균의 차이가 유의미하게 나타났다.
Ultrasonic transducers for medical diagnostic imaging

Over the past decades, ultrasound imagingtechnology has made tremendous progress in obtainingimportant diagnostic information from patients in a rapid,noninvasive manner. Although the technology has benefitedfrom sophisticated signal processing technology andimaging system integration, much of this progress has beenderived from the development of ultrasonic transducersthat are in direct contact with patients. An overview ofmedical ultrasonic imaging transducers is presented in thisreview that describes their structure, types, and applicationfields. The structural components of a typical transducerare presented in detail including an active layer, acousticmatching layers, a backing block, an acoustic lens, andkerfs. The types of transducers are classified according tothe dimensions of ultrasound images: one-dimensionalarray, mechanical wobbling, and two-dimensional arraytransducers. Advantages of each transducer over the otherand the technical issues for further performance enhancementare described. Application of the transducers to variousclinical imaging fields is also reviewed.
