The introduction of high speed railway(KTX) in Korea after the Korean high speed train through the KTX-Ⅱ of the development is being run is made. Thus the demand for the railway technology advances and high performance, Korean government promoted the development of the next-generation high speed train system(HEMU-400X). In addition to the production of train system essential element of the train through an on-line test is to evaluate the performance. Through the on-line test of the train in order to evaluate the performance test items should be selected first and need to the test procedures are required. In addition, an Overall Measuring System(OMS) to measure the performance of the train system should be established. In this study for the on-line test of the HEMU-400X test items was selected for detailed measurements and performance evaluation of a comprehensive and efficient trains to test an OMS for the development are discussed.

Sound power is one of the most significant factors to predict and assess noise from sound source. However, many researchers developed indirect methods to calculate the sound power with noise level because it is impossible to measure sound power directly while a train is running. In this paper, we proposes a method to estimate separately each sound power for rolling noise and propulsive noise with the noise emitted from rolling stocks and verifies the validity of the estimation method using other sound power estimation formula.

This study is the fundamental research to establish comprehensive measurement system for train performance evaluation of HEMU-400x(High-speed Electric Multiple Unit - 400㎞/h eXperiment). The purpose of establishing comprehensive measurement system is to evaluate train performance during trial run test, as well as to secure the train system stability and reliability by solving the trouble causes which are found during HEMU Pilot Train static test and main line trial run test. Therefore, this study collected measurement systems for development completed domestic high speed train units and cases from developed countries to establish more advanced comprehensive measurement system than current system. The contents of this study are to be utilized as basic research document for next generation high speed train technology development.

This study examined the overall measurement system for the power dispersed high speed railway with 400㎞/h of maximum test speed. The measuring system evaluating an efficiency, stability and reliability is important for developing the high speed railway. In order to organize the comprehensive measuring system, it is needed to determined the test item, a number of channel and the specifications of the measurement system. In this study, we made lists for the performance evaluation tests of the next generation high speed railway expected to be developed in the future, and prepared generalization channel sheets for the specification of the overall measurement system. In addition, the specifications for the measuring system were discussed and synthesized.

In Korea high-speed train(HEMU-400X) system with distributed power is being developed and the highest test speed of this train is 400km/h. This developed the first high-speed train as a distributed power train in Korea as well as for the development of train system and evaluation system included evaluation technology is needed. Accordingly a comprehensive and efficient OMS(Overall Measurement System) was build up for verifying the performance of HEMU-400X. By the case study of the G7 and TTX OMS of HEMU-400X was improved the test performance and maintainability. In particular the existing Window-based systems has a limit to the control due to this reason OMS applying enhanced RT(Real-time) system. In this study compare the advantages and disadvantages of RT systems with Window-based systems as well as the configuration of the RT systems.

Generally speaking, the uniqueness of Korea for the high-speed railway rolling-stock is mainly perceived through the travel over the high-speed electric railway by passengers, which consists of the organization of space in the coach and its interior design. For such purpose, it is necessary to build a series of independent cultures with high-speed railway i.e. to have the development of design technologies oriented to harmonizing human beings, their society and culture with the systematic integration of production technologies to support the culture and its substructure foundation which constitute the frame of superstructure in the society, by defining the relationships with travelers on the high-speed railway as well as enhancing the comfort and convenience of high-speed railway through drawing up the development of links with the systematic integration among lines of technologies on the basis of 'User Train Interface. This thesis aims at introducing the study carried out to build the evaluation standards of performance outputs for 'HEMU-400X rolling-stock Design' derived from the performance for the first year in the research 'Development of Technologies for the Next-Generation High-Speed Railway' as part of "Development Project for the Future Railway Technologies" from 2007.

An interest is increased of environment and energy so, importance on railroad high energy efficiency is magnified. And after Gyeong-bu High speed rail is completed, share rate freight transportation of railroad is expected to be gradually increased due to expand investment for railroad and operate mainly freight transportation on convention line. Therefore a research on DMT freight cars is necessary under like this situation. In paper, we developed analysis model for DMT freight car and DMT freight was analyzed numerically using VI-Rail in each condition of railway having different curve and carried out vibration analysis on curving using developed analysis model. And we carried out test on driving stability follow changing curve radius then measure against UIC code 518.
