The enforcement of the Kyoto Protocol to reduce greenhouse gas is definitely a challenge we cannot avoid. Korea ranks 10th in the world and 1st among OECD countries in terms of the volume of greenhouse gas emission and is expected to join Annex I countries which have to reduce emission after 2012. For the sustainable development, we shouldn't depend upon fossil fuel energy longer. This study will provide preliminary data to developing renewable energy systems for urban generation. There are investigated a recent case study of CONCERTO projects co-funded by the European Commission and analyzed application of renewable energy systems as a urban energy source.

The aim of this study was to develop phased reduction prototype targeted at reducing Green House Gas(GHG) arising from the emissions of existing public office buildings. A base mode was established by analyzing the current architectural conditions of existing public office buildings and the specific properties of Green House Gas(GHG) emissions were determined through energy simulations. Green House Gas(GHG) reductions of 15, 25 and 40%, compared to the base level, were obtained by combining technologies for energy efficiency and renewable energy applicability, resulting in recommended phased reduction prototypes.

Sustainable building is more and more important topic in 21C, then building energy reduction standard is going increased in Korea. Especially, insulation standards are revised continuously after 1979. Then this study is evaluate about correlation of revised insulation standards and heating and cooling load on residential building. In the result, the standard of insulation is related with heating load more than cooling load and cooling load is more related another sources. Also when compared with the standard of Green Building, the green house standard(Passive House and Green Tomorrow) have bigger cooling load than heating load. Therefore cooling load will be magnified importantly in the future more than heating load.

As problems caused by global warming become more serious to humans, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, which has a direct influence on global warming is emerging as one of the principal challenges. Accordingly, the reduction of greenhouse gas produced in the process of operating a building, or the reduction of energy consumption is emerging as a main issue. As part of such a trend, we select passive design based on elementary school, Therefore, this study suggested an energy-saving design plan considering passive design elements by experimental design. By evaluating the influence, classified the design elements based on their importance and suggested a final design plan.
국내 건물 단열기준에 따른 냉·난방 부하 분석 및 최적 단열기준에 관한 고찰

Sustainable building is getting more and more important topic in 21C. Following this trend building energy saving standard has been reinforced in Korea. Especially insulation standards are revised continuously after1979. This study aims to evaluate the correlation between the revised insulation standards and heating and cooling loads of a residential building. This study shows that the standard of insulation is more related with heating load than cooling load and cooling load is more related with other sources such as glass types and solar incidence through windows. In case of highly-insulated building such Passive Houses or Zero Energy Houses the cooling load should also be considered as important as heating load when revising the building energy saving regulations in the future.

As the utilization of air conditioning system by EHP is increasing in these days as the heat source of small office buildings, it should be considered to strengthen thermal performance up to double-layered Low-E or triple layered Low-E glass at planning window system for energy saving. Also the consideration of U-value and G-value as the thermal characteristics of office building must be emphasized on the optimized choice of window. In this study, utilizing ECO2-energy efficiency appraisal program, we suggest the optimized window system of small office building with EHP system, considering the initial cost and energy cost of each window system including thermal performance. Furthermore, during the economic estimation, we suggest the design guideline of passive energy saving techniques for the skin of small office building.
