The purpose of this study is to examine experimentally mechanical behavior of concrete beams spliced by couplers. Concrete beams are tested in compression stress state. Ten beam specimens are used for this experiment. The principal results obtained from this study are as follows. Comparing deflection of coupler beams with lap splice, Concrete beams spliced by couplers is larger than concrete beams connected by reinforcing steel, but deflection of coupler beams doesn't come up to serviceability limit. Behavior of concrete beams connected by reinforcing steel showed that the tip of lap splice was failed. Concrete beams spliced by couplers showed flexible failure and the strain of couplers is less than reinforcing steel.
