        Authors experienced Garre's osteomyelitis that showed 24 years male patient who visited the Dental Hospital of College of Dentistry of Dankook University because of right facial asymmetry from recurred swelling in right mandibular angle area. Because we thought that this case was rare, we examined the clinical, radiological, histopathological features, and discussed the etiologic factors and the pathogenesis of Garre's osteomyelitis through a review of literature. The results were as followings. 1. In clinical features, 24 years male patient showed right facial asymmetry from recurred swelling in right mandibular angle area. 2. In radiographic features, slight periosteal bone formation in right mandibular angle area was found. 3. In histopathologic features, parallel trabecular orientation that occurred perpendicular to the cortex was associated with medullary trabecular in the back ground of hemorragic loose connective tissue with lymphocytes and plasma cells. Many lamellated trabecular lined by active osteoblast cells were found. In other area, empty lacunae in trabecular were observed. 4. We considered the etiologic focus to be a low grade infection from prolonged infection right 1st mandibular molar.

        Contact force and deformation relationships are derived by using the static Hertzian contact theory with respect to the spherical and the cylindrical contacting pairs. A linearized relation and a power law relation are developed by modification of the static force deformation relations. Using the developed relationships, general impact equations are derived on a simple general model of the clearance coupling, and are further extended to allow the surface damping coefficient as a function of the coefficient of restitution to be calculated for any series power law representation of the surface stiffness.

        치과대학생 및 전공 에 있어서 B형간염면항원의 발현빈도에 관한 연구

        Medical personnek are one of several groups that have been reported to have a high incidence of hepatiris B. It is also thought that the occurrence rate of hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg), aserologic marker for hepatitis B virus(HBV), is expected to be high in the dental personnel who are frequently exposed to the blood and saliva of the patients. Although many studies have been done to determine the HBsAg status of virus groups, limited investigations have been performed on dental personnel, especially in this country. The main purpose of this study was to identify HBsAg positivity among dental students, interns, and residents who would be expected to be a high risk group of hepatitis B infection. Screening test for HBsAg of a dental school population was performed by indirect hemagglutination(IHA)in 1982. The results were as follows : 1. Thirty four out of a total 362 persons(9.4%)tested in the study had positive response for HBsAg in their serum samples. 2. Twenty seven out of 320 dental students(8.4%)had positive for HBsAg, and in Senior class 12 out of 82 dental students (14.6%)had positive response that was the highest incidence among dental students group. 3. Seven out of 42 interns and residents(16.7%)had positive for HBsAg, and it was the highest incidence in this dental school population.

      • 드릴공정의 디지탈 제어

        The main work of this research consists of modeling and control of drilling process at its exit phase. The thrust force exerted by the drill on the part being machined was found to be a suitable variable for controlling the drilling breakage, wear of tool, degraded surface finish, etc. Thrust force is controlled to track a given force profile which is expected to produce good exit surface finish. The control of the force is accomplished by adjusting the feedrate. A drilling process model at drill breakthrough is developed considering the mechanics of cutting process and the cutting geometry change. The design of controllers based on the models developed is presented. A variable gain feed back controller is designed in order to compensate for varying cutting process dynamics due to cutting geometry change. A proportional plus integral(PI) control algorithm and a model following control algorithm with feedforward controller are developed and implemented in realtime. It is shown that both simulation and implementation results are consistent very well.

      • 간극이 있는 평면운동기구의 윤활 및 탄성변형의 복합효과에 관한 연구

        평면운동기구에 있어서 간극의 존재는 연결부에 있어서 구속의 와해를 가져온다. 따라서 연결부의 윤활효과 및 탄성변형 현상등의 운동의 동력학적 특성을 해석함에 있어서는 적절한 구속 방정식을 필요로 한다. 본 연구는 두 효과를 포함하는 구속 방정식을 제시하였으며 동력학적 방정식과의 동시해석을 통하여 접합부의 충격현상 및 내력 증폭현상을 확인하였다. 특히, 비정상상태의 레이놀즈 방정식을 적용하여 과도상태 및 정상상태에 있어서 동하중과 유막두께와의 관계를 중점적으로 조사하였다. 유막두께식의 유도에 있어서는 베어링의 탄성변형을 고려하였으며 모든 연성된 상미분, 편미분 방정식은 수치적분으로 해결하였다.

      • 형질세포치은염에 대한 증례보고

        After authors experienced patients with plasma cell gingivitis, who had visited Department of Periodontics of Dental Hospital of Dnakook University from 1984 to 1990, authors selected 13 cases which were very similar with plasma cell gingivitis on clinical and histopathological aspect, and then re-examined these 13 cases about following standards, sudden onset of the lesion, no favorable result on medicinal and surgical treatment, dense infiltration of plasma cell, eosinophils in the Hematoxylin-Eosin stain, mast cells in Toluidine-Blue stain. Authors concluded that 4 cases are exactly consistent with plasma cell gingivitis. Authors studied these 4 cases about clinical and histopathological feature, and reviewed the past case report and literature. The following results were elicited. 1. Clinical sign and symptom has generalized feature in oral cavity, but when the disease occurs at the lips, the lower lips shows more severe manifestation. And the disease have a predilection for female but do not have prediliection for any age. 2. The most characteristic feature of the plasma cell gingivitis is dense plasma cell infiltration in light microscope, and other characteristic microscopic features are as followings; microvesicles in the epithelial layer, proliferation of epithelium, proliferation of papillary layer in connective tissue, dilatation of capillaries and occasional infiltration of eosinophils and mast cells. 3. Plasma cell gingivitis is specific immunological reaction that plasma cells chiefly react with certain allergen but this immunological reaction is limited on few population.

      • 방사선조사후 타액선 조직세포변화에 따른 타액분비의 감소에 관한 실험적 연구

        After single fraction of 2, 5, 10 Gy irradiation on submandibular gland of 32 male rats, weighting 150 gm, respectively, these animal were sacrificed after 1, 7, 15 hours, 1, 3, 7, 14 days after irradiation. And excised submandibular gland were fixed in Bouin's solution for 2 hours. Paraffin sections were stained with H & E, and PAS for change of salivary gland tissue in order to get regeneration of salivary gland tissue cells and saliva secretion after irradiation. The results were following. 1. In PAS statining after 3 days of 5 Gy irradiation, decreased mucine serction of serous cells were seen, and after 7 dyas of 10 Gy irradiation, decreased mucine secretion of mucous cells were seen. Increased saliva secretion except mucous cells after 14 days was seen, but no resecretion of salivary gland tissue cells was observed in 10 Gy irradiation. 2. After 3 days of 2 Gy irradiation, 1 day of 5 Gy, and 15 yours of 10 Gy, degeneration of serous cells was seen and regeneration of these cells was seen after 14 days except 10 Gy irradiation.
