This paper investigates and compare of EV drive motor rotor applied with carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). Recently, interior permanent magnet synchronous Motor (IPMSM) has incorporated a CFRP sleeve that wraps around the rotor. The sleeve keeps the rotor assembly from flying apart at high rotational speeds. The ipmsm with cfrp sleeve can reduce the magnetic flux leakage by removing the rib and bridge in the rotor to improve the performance of the motor, but it needs to be discussed and studied to minimize the strength performance of cfrp sleeve and cfrp and the change of electromagnetic performance. In this paper, the electromagnetic and mechanical properties of IPMSM motors with CFRP winding sleeves were compared through finite element method (FEM). A sleeve thickness of 0.5 mm was selected to minimize leakage flux that satisfies rotational stiffness according to the required maximum speed. In addition, magnetic torque, reluctance torque, and d-q axis inductance of CFRP winding sleeve applied IPMSM were analyzed and compared through FEM. By minimizing the d-axis inductance, a reluctance-maximizing model capable of high-speed driving was selected. As a result, it will be a useful reference in the development of the CFRP winding sleeve applied IPMSM.

In accordance with global energy conservation policies such as MEPS(Minimum Energy Performance Standard), electric motor industry is moving to super-high-efficiency machines and research to develop IE4 (International Energy Efficiency Class4) motors has been launched. In this situation, SynRM (Synchronous Reluctance Motor) has been attracting attention in place of induction motor which hardly provides super premium efficiency. As a result, much research on SynRM is being performed at home and abroad. Also, some products have already been appearing in the market. Compared to induction motor, SynRM has better efficiency per unit area and wider operating range. Although the utilization of control system in synchronous motor results in higher prices, we still need to concentrate on developments of SynRM so as to comply with the new policies. This study demonstrated the electromagnetic design methods of super-premium SynRM while maintaining the frame of existing IE3 induction motor for blower . We documented the design procedures for generating high saliency which is the most essential and mechanical stress analysis is also treated. In conclusion, we proved the validity of our design by manufacturing and testing our SynRM models.

SynRM (Synchronous Reluctance Motor) is a high efficient motor. With a simple structure and more cheaper than induction Motor, However, the torque ripple of Synchrous Reluctance Motor is very large. This paper analyzes the SynRM output characteristics with a new rotor flux barriers arrangment design, since the stator of SynRM is similar as that of an induction motor. And compares a basic Model. By designed the relative positions between outer edges of flux barriers and slots correspond. As a result torque ripple can be reduced.

In this paper, LS-SynRM (Line Start-Synchronous Reluctance Motor) has been attracting attention in replace of induction motor which hardly provides high efficiency. Compared to induction motor, LS-SynRM has better efficiency per unit area. This study demonstrated the electromagnetic design methods of LS-SynRM while maintaining the frame of existing IE3 induction motor for blower. We documented the design procedures for generating high saliency which is the most essential and mechanical stress analysis is also treated. In conclusion, we proved the validity of our design by manufacturing and testing our LS-SynRM models.

This paper investigates the behavior of active short circuit(ASC) in order to protect and inverter and a motor when any faults occur on inverter system at high-speed operation region of motor. The implementation of ASC function is to control the inverter output to be a zero vector which state can be named three phases short(3PS) in the fault condition. The ASC function causes unintended brake torque in the motor and the freewheeling current between the inverter and the motor which is called ASC-current. In general, the ASC current will be several times higher than the maximum power current. Therefore, the magnets selected for the motor design must ensure that they will not be demagnetized under the ASC current. This paper introduces an 8-pole 100kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, discussed the maximum current value of the motor in ASC state, and conducts finite element analysis of demagnetization through dynamic and static methods to verify the safety of permanent magnet selection.
