The plant of Pedicularis resupinata var. oppositifolia(Scrophulariaceae) is described to be used for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, malignant abscess (tumor), urolith and diuretics in oriental medicinal books. This study is concerned with some general pharmacological activities. It was observed that the methanol extract of the aerial part of this plant showed some effects on acute toxicity, carrageenin induced edema in rat paw, bile juice secretion and antibacterial effect. From this result it was obtained that the methanol extract revealed the antiinflammatory activity and bile juice secretion increasing effect. Thus, it was fractionated and buthanol fraction has obvious inhibition effect on edema and bile juice secretion increasing effect. The total extract showed low acute toxicity i.e., the minimum lethal dose was more than 8000mg/kg in oral administration in mice.

From the root of Rhamnella frangulioides(=Microrhamnus frangulioides), three compounds (Comp. I ; mp 140∼142°, Comp. II; mp 196°, Comp. III ; mp 136∼138°) were isolated by silica gel column chromatographic purification which were identified as β-sitosterol, chrysophanol, 1-methyl-2-carboxymethyl-3-methoxy-4, 8-dihydroxy anthraquinone, respectively, by spectral analysis.

The presence of saponin, terpenoid, steroid, anthraquinone and flavonoid were screened with the usual test methods in forty five(sixty four parts) Korean plants belonging to Urticaceae, Celastraceae, Rhamnaceae, Sterculiaceae and Rubia ceae. Plants were extracted with methanol and fractionated with hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate and butanol. Each fraction was tested for the components. The result showed that in saponin test, 21 plants were positive and 11 plants were weak positive; in terpenoid and steroid test, 26 plants were strong positive; in anthraquinone test, 20 plants strong positive: in flavonoid test, 31 plants were positive and 9 plants were weak positive.

The determination of berberine in Berberis koreana was examined by the high performance liquid chromatography using u-Bondapak C<sub>18</sub> column and CH₃CN/phosphate buffer (pH 5.2) (60/40) as a mobile phase. The seasonal variations of berberine contents in Berberis koreana were as follows; 1) In roots, the average berberine content was 0.94% with the highest level of 1.32% in October. 2) In stems, their average berberine content was about 0.1% and in March, April, October and November, the contents were relatively high. 3) In leaves, however, the content was as low as 0 005%. According to the experimental results obtained, we found that Berberis koreana roots can serve as the useful natural plant resources for the berberine and October is the optimal season for the collection.

Heavy metals may cause trouble(s) in human body. For consideration of the safety of crude drugs cultivated in Korea, we selected some medicinal plants and soils from cultivated site and estimated their heavy metal contents by inductively coupled argon plasma spectrometry (ICAP). Among heavy metals tested, the highest level of Cu and Zn were shown in plants cultivated in Kyung Ki; the highest level of Fe in those in Youngnam and the highest level of Mg and Mn in those in Youngdong. The heavy metal contents were as low as to be permeasible at least for the medicinal plants we selected. There were no significant correlations between heavy metal contents of soils and cultivated medicinal plants.

국내 한약자원을 논하는데 있어서 관점에 따라 또는 분류기준에 따라서 몇가지의 방법이 있을 수 있다. 즉 식물·동물·광물별, 자생종·재배종별, 분포지역별, 효능별, 함유성분별, 분류학적분류법에 따르는 방법 등을 들 수 있는 것이다. 무릇 국내에서 생산되는 한약자원중 역사가 오래되고 이용도가 높았으며 산출액이 큰 종류는 이미 검토가 거듭되어 그 기원이나 성상 등은 많이 밝혀져 있다. 또한 이용되고 있는 자원의 거의 대부분을 차지하고 있는 것은 식물성 자원이며 동물성·광물성 자원은 그 비중이 아주 낮은 편에 있는 것이다. 따라서 여기에서는 국내에서 생산되는 식물성한약자원만을 다루고져 하며 순수한 한약원료식물뿐만 아니라 넓은 의미의 생약원료식물을 약간 보태서 고찰하려고 한다. 우선 식물분류학상 門 또는 綱 별로 소속된 자원식물의 생약명을 기재하고 이어서 재배되고 있는 자원식물의 생약명과 재배를 권장해야 할 종류와 보호를 요하는 自生種의 생약명, 그리고 끝으로 자원식물중 약간의 문제가 되는 종류를 추려서 좀더 자세히 언급할려고 한다.

This study suggested the occurrence source of weld-defects and its solution methods in a welding of Electrolyte injection hole by pulsed Nd:YAG laser. In experiment, the ramp down was used in order that solidification crack was removed. Furthermore. shrinkage stress and heat input were reduced by changing of weld trajectory and defocused distance. As a results of a experiment, a sound weld bead shape and crack-free weld bead can be obtained. In conclusion this show that the welding stability is greatly affected by modulation of laser pulse shape for the same laser energy and welding parameters.

Laser material processing is a very fast advancing technology for various industrial applications. because of many advantages. Its major advantage of less and controlled heat input has been exploited successfully for the very critical application of aluminium alloy welding. This study suggested the occurrence source of weld-defects and its solution methods in a welding of lithium ion battery by pulsed Nd:YAG laser. In experiment. battery case has changed over joint geometry from welding of side position to flat one. In the case of a electrolyte injection hole in order to seal it. welding is carried out after pressing Al ball. At this time. an eccentric degree. contact length and gap are worked as a major parameters. As improving the method of Al ball pressing. it was able to reduce an eccentricity. increase the contact length and decrease gap. As a results of a experiment. a sound weld bead shape and crack-free weld bead can be obtained.

Manufacture of motor by laser has been studying realization that was demands on market for lightening and miniaturization. Moreover. early in the 1980s. manufacture of parts for automobiles by laser welding was already successfully introduced. The purpose of this study was to develop production technology of the high quality laminated stator core for motor by pulsed Nd:YAG laser heat source. In the event of adjusting defocus and voltage to control humping in laser welding of the laminated core. sound bead could be obtained. but deep penetration was not. Therefore. explosive evaporating plasma was controlled by adjustment of peak power on pulse width. Particularly, because explosive evaporating plasma induced high peak power, made molten metal in keyhole scatter. a suitable adjustment of peak power was required to obtain sound bead. As a results of experiment. sound bead and deep penetration could be obtained.
