This study is aimed to compare choices on interaction problems, and to consider the reason of the choices. It was expected that the interaction problems are influenced from national culture, age, gender and so on. The first interaction problem in this study is default answer button when user operates to delete all messages on SMS in-box. Second one is action when pop-up window warning dangerousness of install showed on web browsing. The third one is type(analog/digital) and information expression of control panel on soup maker. 639 Korean data and 784 data from China, Japan and the Netherlands are analyzed through cross-tabulation and chi-square test. In the results, many Japanese choose ``No`` answer at SMS delete problem, while many Dutch choose ``Yes``. The result suggests that uncertainty avoidance effect on interaction problems. On warning pop-up, Younger generation and men choose actively ``install`` than older one and women. On type of control panel, Dutch subjects preferred analog type than other countries` subjects. On expression of control panel, older generation and individualistic subjects relatively preferred text style than other style.

웨어러블 디바이스가 새로운 IT 성장동력으로 기대를 모으며, 웰빙과 헬스케어에 대한 니즈가 증대되는 가운데, 건강정보를 측정, 조회해주는 손목 착용형 헬스 디바이스인 헬스밴드에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 어떤 사용자가 어떤 헬스밴드를 원하는가에 대한 답을 얻는 것이다. 이를 위해 인구통계학적 문항, 운동-라이프스타일, 헬스밴드사용경험, 디자인, UI/GUI, 기능에 걸친 총 26개 문항으로 구성된 온라인 설문을 작성, 252명에게서 설문을 얻어, 교차분석 및 카이검정, 평균비교 및 분산분석 등의 통계를 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 2~30대 젊은층은 matrix 디스플레이를 채택한 밴드형 디바이스를 원하며, 여성은 남성에 비해 복잡하고 화려한 외형과 UI화면에 더 수용적이다. 단순한 외형을 원하는 사람은 심플한 UI화면을 선호하고, 그 반대도 성립된다. 50대 이상은 그 이전세대에 비해 화려한 외형에 더 수용적이다. 여성은 디자인에 있어서 단순한 쪽으로든 화려한 쪽으로든 확실한 선호 태도를 보인다. 분석 결과, 연령대와 성별과 같은 인구통계학적 변수는 헬스밴드의 특성을 결정하는데 의미있는 변수였으나, 운동정도나 운동유형과 같은 운동-라이프스타일 변수는 예상과 달리 예측력이 약했음을 알 수 있었다. 사용자 유형에 따른 차별화된 헬스밴드 디자인 컨셉 수립 등의 연구결과 활용이 기대된다. Wearable devices are expected to be the new IT growth engine. With the increased demand for better health care and well-being, so are the interest in wrist worn devices that measures and monitors personal health information. The purpose of this research is to understand who wants which health band. An online survey composed of 26 questions in 6 categories: demographic factors, exercise-lifestyle, user experience of health band, design, UI/UX, and Functions. 252 samples were gathered and analyzed using cross-tabulation, Chi-test, mean comparison, and ANOVA. The finding states: Younger people (Twenties and Thirties) prefer band types with a matrix display. Women prefer more flashy and fancier designs than man. Most people like simple designs with an easy to read UI screen. Seniors in their fifties and over are more acceptable to flashy styles compared to the younger users. Women shows a more resolute preference in design than man. Demographic factors such as gender and age group are strong factors in determining the type of health band designs. However, exercise-lifestyle factors such as exercise intensity and type of exercise are not a meaningful factors in determining the type of health bands. This Study can be utilized to differentiate the type of health band designs concepts according to the user demographics.

This study is aimed to compare cross-cultural individualism, and consider an influence of nationality, gender and age on individualistic propensity. The survey data include 271 Chinese, 251 Japanese, 262 Netherlander and 267 Korean. The result of factor analysis, four factors named independent action, profit and opinion, indifference on other and will, were found out. The result of comparison on nationality, Netherlander and Japanese has a strong individualistic propensity, and Korean has a remarkable collective propensity. Chinese were middle grade among 4 countries. It can be said that certain factors correlated with a certain country, because Netherlander`s answer on questions belonged to profit and opinion factor were highest, and Japanese`s one belonged to indifference on other were highest. On gender, Man was more individualistic better than woman. On age, twenties has strong collective propensity better than other age groups. The number of significant difference on comparison among countries is 21 in 21 questions, but the number on gender or age is 6 or 7. Therefore, it can be said that nationality (or culture) is most useful variable to grasp individualism.
