This paper is launched to get an exact bore-sighting value in the process of assembling for a dual-barrel weapon. Image processing method with a CCD(Charged Coupled Device) camera is chosen for the error reduction of bore-sighting. The results of this method by using a CCD camera and the testing target method are described in this paper. After the performance of the dual-barrel weapon and that of the fire-control system in the dual barrel weapon system is confirmed, the bore-sighting which is a part of the process in the system assembly is accomplished. In this process, the position of the barrel is identified by using the testing target method that is an existing bore-sighting method. Then, the fixing line of the fire-control system is checked by a day-optical part. The precision of the bore-sighting is required within several mils, however the manual method using the naked eyes makes it worse. Therefore, a CCD camera is installed in the eyepieces. Next, we can get an image of the sighting and the center coordinate values of the laser-pointer from each barrel by image processing method. A required bore-sighting value is calculated from the eccentricity of the center coordinate. Finally, It can be applied to adopt this result in the assembling process of the dual-barrel weapon.

In this paper, a study on variation of an accuracy rate as the gradient of a rifle is shown. In the a state of hostilities, a soldier is not easy to take a shot vertically against the ground. If a soldier shoots as the pistol is inclined, how the accuracy rate is changed. While the pistol is shot, the change of ballistic curve is estimated. And we also verify the accuracy rate through the firing test. Then we compare two results and present some ideas which overcome the decrease of an accuracy rate. Hereafter, it is possible to adapt in the future soldier system and expected that the accuracy rate of the conventional gun is maintained.

In the traditional percussion locks of small arms, a firing pin is struck by a hammer rotating on a single center of rotation, which makes the percussion mechanism simple and reliable. In order to strike the firing pin by the hammer, however, the firing pin should be located within the radius of rotation of the hammer. As the distance between the striking point of the firing pin and the center of rotation of the hammer becomes longer, the radius of rotation of the hammer should also be increased, which results in the increase of the volume and weight of the small arms because the hammer needs the more space for its operation inside of the small arms. In this paper, a link type percussion lock was newly proposed in order to overcome the limitation of designing small arms when using traditional percussion locks, as mentioned above. The link type percussion lock was modeled by using multi-body dynamics software and designed to satisfy the requirements such as striking force level of the hammer exerting on the firing pin enough to detonate the percussion cap of ammunitions and the safety on the accidental drop. It was applied to the newly developed dual-barrel weapon system, in which the weight and overall length are important design factors, and verified by durability test and drop test on the ground.

Under the urban and counter-terrorism operations, soldiers are always exposed to danger from enemy fire. In case of foreign countries such as Israel, refracted firearm draw lots of attention due to its effectiveness from the beginning of its development and produced a lot of outcome such as increase of survivability and effective mission performance. Korean special operation forces are now using Israel"s CornerShot. However, continuous improvement requirements have been raised from the soldiers using CornerShot. Based on the derived improvement requirements of CornerShot, Korean refracted firearm for concept realization was recently developed. In this paper, results of research on concept realization of refracted firearm for special operations were briefly described and some complementary items to be considered during the full-scale development phase were derived.
