Sealings between doors and vehicle body are essential to keep airtightness of vehicle compartment and to cut off outside noise, rain and dust. They are usually made of expanded rubber and deform similar to cork whose poisson's ratio is nearly zero. Therefore hyperform material model is used for analysis. Simulation is done by using ABAQUS. In order to confirm this material model, simple tension test and door seal compression test are performed<br/> and the results are compared with simulation and they showed good agreement. Finally, design parameter study is performed using Taguchi method to find optimal seal design of reduced reaction force. The change of thickness and material strength of door seal of window frame is the most effective in reducing reaction force.<br/> <br/>

To obtain the proper surface hardening layer, maintaining the damping capacity and mechanical properties, Co and Al element was added to Fe-12Cr-22Mn alloy. The studies of damping capacity, mechanical properties and plasma ion nitriding characteristics of Fe-12Cr-22Mn-X alloys studied can be summarized thus : The volume fraction of ε-martensite was increased with the increase of degree of cold rolling for two specimens, as followed was decreased after maximum value. And damping capacity has been shown as the same transformation behavior. While tensile strength was linearly increased with increasing the degree of working due to transforming austenite to martensite by working for two specimens, elongation was dramatically decreased at early stage but slowly decreased with increasing the degree of cold rolling. While the E martensite content influenced on damping capacity, in case of a ' martensite, it influenced on tensile strength. And it was possible to obtain the coefficient of friction with over 1.5x 10-3 and the strength value with over 80 kgf/㎜2. The size of the effective case depth of both specimens increase with increase of nitriding time, temperature. We could obtain the effective case depth of about 30㎛ in specimens added Co and the effective case depth of about 36㎛ in specimens added %AI, after specimens were nitrided at 490℃ for 12 hours.
