The purpose of this study was to find out the influence of parental support perceived by third-year middle school students and the influence of school-life adjustment on career decision-making self-efficacy, to provide a conceptual framework and basic data for career education and for a career development program which will aid career counseling considering all family and social-environmental variables related to each student when putting career education into effect at school. The findings are as follows: First, career decision-making self-efficacy, school life adjustment, and parental support were higher in general than average levels. Second, differences in parental support as a background variable for middle school students shows significant levels according to student gender, father's schooling, family income, and student's school records while there are no significant levels according to mother's schooling or the existence and nonexistence of career counseling experiences. Third, the influence of background variables of middle school students, parental support, and school life adjustment on career-decision making self-efficacy is higher in cases where father's schooling is high, where students have had career counseling experience, where parental support is high, and where school life adjustment is high.
