민들레 씨앗의 상징성에 기반한 장신구 디자인 제안 - 금속 상감 기법을 활용한 본인 작품 중심으로 -

연구배경 인간은 아름다움을 추구하는 본성이 있다. 고대의 유물과 유적에서도 실용품에 다양한 장식이 되어 있는 것을 미루어 보아 공예는 유희성을 바탕으로 미적 쾌감을 갖게 하는 장식 본능에 의의가 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 공예 중에서도 특히 현대 장신구는 제작자의 예술적 감성과 철학이 더해지며 예술적 실험의 매개체 또는 자기표현의 중심 수단으로 정체성을 나타내는 장식적인 기능과 역할을 하고 있다. 이러한 공예의 장식 본능에 초점을 맞추어 역사적으로 유래가 깊고 표면 장식의 요소를 가지고 있는 전통의 상감 기법을 활용하여 공예에서의 장식 미에 대해 깊이 고찰하며, 전통의 기법과 현대적 디자인으로 장식의 깊이감과 표현의 풍부함을 보여주는 작품 제작 연구를 진행하고자 한다. 연구방법 공예에서의 장식의 중요성과 본질 그리고 상감 기법에 대해 깊이 고찰하고, 장신구 디자인에 응용하는 방안에 대해 모색한다. 그리하여 민들레 씨앗을 모티브로 씨앗의 동적인 움직임을 상감 기법으로 표현하여 균형있는 조화로운 디자인을 보여주고자 한다. 연구결과 장식은 인류의 시작과 함께 본래 필요한 산물이며, 공예에서의 장식은 공예 본질의 쓰임이 포함되어 있어 시각과 촉각에 의해 표현되기에 재료의 사용과 표현 기법에 따라 각각 다른 색과 형태를 창조할 수 있다. 또한 장식을 통해서 조형적 형태는 강조될 수도 있고, 상황에 따라서는 작품 전체 해석을 지시하는 역할도 수행한다. 이처럼 장식은 심미성의 효과를 전달하며 작품의 마지막 마침표 같은 존재로 인식되고 있다. 결론 공예에서의 장식은 보는 것 이외에 직접 느끼는 것이 가능하며, 심미성은 물론 유희와 기능적 강조도 가능하다. 금속의 상감 기법은 다양한 표면 장식의 요소를 표현할 수 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 이를 통하여 전통의 기법을 현대적으로 해석하여 조형성과 장식성을 동시에 표현한 장신구를 제작하였다. 공예에서의 장식 미에 관해 깊이 고찰하였으며, 앞으로도 꾸준한 연구를 통해 전통의 기법과 현대의 소통이 가능한 장식 표현 방법을 모색하고자 한다. Background Humanity has an extinct of pursuing beauty. Considering various decorations found in ancient relics and remains, crafts hold significance in the decorative instinct for feeling the aesthetic pleasure based on the enjoyment. Especially, modern jewelries among craftworks are combined with the craftsman’s artistic sense and philosophy to serve the decorative function and role that express the identity as the medium of artistic experiment and mean of self-expression. This study focuses on such crafts’ decorative instinct, deeply explores the decorative beauty of crafts by utilizing the traditional inlay technique with a long history and surface decoration element, and researches on making the artwork that demonstrates the depth and rich expression of decorations with traditional technique and modern design. Methods This study deeply explores the importance and essence of decoration in crafts, examines the inlay technique, and finds measures for utilizing inlay technique on the jewelry design. In response, this study tries to show a balanced and harmonious design by expressing the dynamic movement of a seed with the inlaying technique with the motif of a dandelion seed. Result Decorations have been essential since the beginning of the humanity. In crafts, as decorations include the essential use of the craftwork, they expressed by vision and touch. Therefore, craftworks are able to create different colors and shapes depending on the material and expression technique. Also, decorations can emphasize a formative shape while guiding the interpretation of the whole artwork depending on the situation. Likewise, decorations deliver the aesthetic effects and they are perceived as a period of the craftwork. Conclusion In crafts, decorations are visible and touchable and decorations present the features of aesthetics, enjoyment, and functional emphasis. Metal inlay technique enable expressing various surface decoration elements and this study tried to interpret the traditional technique in a modern way and make a jewelry that expresses formativeness and decorativeness at the same time. This study deeply explored the decorative beauty in crafts and this study seeks to find more decoration expression methods that enable communication between the traditional technique and modern time through continuous researches.

물길 조형적 해석에 기반한 테이블과 의자 디자인제안 - 금속단조기법을 활용하여 -

연구배경 고도의 성장과 함께 복잡해진 현대 사회에서 살아가는 사람들에게 주거공간은 심리적 안정감과 감성적 만족감을 충족시킬 수 있는 공간으로 요구되고 있다. 현대인에게 있어 자연은 동경과 그리움의 대상이기도 하며 자연의 순환과 생명력은 인간에게 안도감을 준다. 연구자는 자연 이미지를 조형화하여 일상적 공간에서 시각적 편안함과 안도감을 느낄 수 있는 역할의 공예 디자인 작품을 제시하고자 한다. 연구방법 선행연구 분석과 각종 문헌을 통하여 물의 성질과 상징성 물과 선을 주제로 하는 작가의 작품분석을 통해 철학적, 미학적, 내용을 고찰해 보고 본 연구자의 작품 전개에 있어 유사성과 차별성을 분석해 보고자 하였으며 자연의 근원적 요소 중 물을 모티브로 하고 물의 흐름과 물속의 흐름, 혹은 물이 전체적으로 흘러가는 길을 「물길」이라 하고 물길의 관찰에서 얻은 이미지를 조형화한다. 단조기법의 반복적 실험으로 선의 흐름과 율동성을 표현하고자 하였다. 물의 흐름을 테이블과 의자의 다리 부분에 물의 흐름을 표현한 선재금속을 입체적으로 넣어 주어 다른 소재와의 어울림으로 대상에 의해 물길이 변화는 모습을 표현하기 위해 연구하였다. 연구결과 본 연구자는 자연에서 얻을 수 있는 심리적 안정감과 안락함을 일상에서도 느끼고 감상할 수 있도록 독창성 있는 물길 이미지를 만들고 조형적 공예작품으로 디자인하였다. 연철을 이용한 단조기법을 실험하고 물길 이미지에 적합한 텍스처를 결과물로 얻을 수 있었으며 손 단조로 표현할 수 있는 다양한 텍스처의 발전 가능성을 발견하였다. 결론 현대인들이 연구자의 작품을 사용하고 감상함으로써 자연에서 얻는 치유의 에너지와 같은 감각적 힐링을 느끼고 조금이나마 바쁜 일상에서 심신의 안정과 여유를 가지기를 기대하고 있다. Background As modern people live through the complicated modern society with a rapid growth, they require the residential space to be a space for having psychological stability and fulfilling emotional satisfying. Modern people admire and long for the nature. Also, circulation and life force from the nature provide feeling of relief to the modern people. In response, this study seeks to suggest a craft design work that provides visual comfort and feeling of relief in the daily space by referring to the image of nature. Methods This study analyzed preceding researches and various literatures to examine the pieces with themes of property, symbolism, and lines of water for the philosophical and aesthetic features. Also, this study tried to analyze the similarity and distinction in development of the pieces. Then, this study took a motif from water among the basic elements of the nature, defined the flow of water, flow inside water, and overall flow path as [Waterway], and modeled the image obtained by observing such waterway. This study had a repeated experiment on forge welding technique to express the flow and rhythmicity of the line. Also, this study put linear metal expressing the water flow on the table and chair’s leg parts in three dimensions to express how the waterway changes in harmony with other materials. Result This study made a unique ‘Waterway’ image and designed formative craft piece that provides psychological stability and comfort from nature in daily lives. This study tested on forge welding applied with soft iron and obtained a texture suitable for image of waterway. This study also discovered the possibility of development for various textures that can be expressed with a hand forging technique. Conclusion This study hopes that the modern people using and appreciating the piece would feel emotional healing such as n atural energy, rest their body and mind, and have relaxation in their busy daily lives.

국내 공예산업 활성화 방안에 관한 연구

전통과 수공예적 섬세함을 기반을 둔 공예품은 현대의 대량생산품과 확연히 다른 가치로 구매자들의 감성을 자극한다. 그것은 대량생산된 제품의 몰개성에서 벗어나 공장 생산제품과는 확연히 차별화되는 것으로 오늘날 구매자들의 개별적 취향이 반영된 다품종 소량생산의 트렌드와 일치하다. 이러한 실정에서 최근 몇 년간 해외공예시장에 두각을 보이고 있는 것은 이커머셜 시장과 공예의 조합이다. 그러나 현재 한국 공예품의 유통 및 판매는 대부분이 오프라인 중심으로 판매되고 있으며 온라인을 통한 판매는 국내 시장에 한정되어 있어 판매량 또한 높지 않은 수준이다. 그러므로 과거의 방식에서 벗어나 글로벌 트렌드에 부흥하여 현 상황 개선을 위한 새로운 전략이 마련 되여야 할 것으로 보인다. 따라서 국내 공예산업이 글로벌 이커머셜 플랫폼과의 연계를 통한 새로운 공예 생산 및 유통방안을 제시하였으며 글로벌 이커머셜 사례와 유통구조의 변화를 연구함으로써 현 상황을 개선하기 위한 경쟁력 있는 유통판로 확장과 판매 활성화에 그 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 기존 발표된 국내 공예산업의 생산 활동 통계자료를 토대로 현상을 분석하였고 국내 이커머셜 시장 분석과 국내와 대비하여 빠르게 대응하고 있는 국외 이커머셜 시장을 비교하였다. 대표적인 업체인 엣시(etsy)와 핸드메이드 카테고리를 만들어 업계에 진출한 아마존(Amazon)을 비교 분석하여 세계화 할 수 있는 현실적 대안을 제시한다. 그리하여 지금까지 분석을 토대로 우수한 품질의 국내 공예품이 전 세계를 대상으로 판매되는 온라인 시장에 공급 될 수 있도록 이커머셜 플랫폼으로의 진출이 속히 시행하여야 한다는 것으로 결론을 도출하였다. 이를 통해 한국 공예품 유통을 활성화하는데 보탬이 됨과 동시에 글로벌 온라인 시장으로의 방향 설정과 전략수립에 도움이 되기를 기대한다. Crafts based on tradition and handicrafted delicacy stimulate buyers emotions with a distinctly different value from modern mass production. It is distinct from the factory-produced products, deviating from the deindividuation of mass-produced products, which is consistent with today s trends of multi-product and small volume production that reflects the individual taste of buyers. Under this circumstance, it is the combination of e-commercial market and crafts that has been outstanding in the overseas craft market in recent years. However, current distribution and sales of Korean crafts are mainly off-line, and online sales are limited to the domestic market, so sales volume are not high either. Therefore, it is expected that a new strategy should be prepared to improve the current situation by moving away from the past methods and reviving to the global trend. Therefore, the domestic craft industry has proposed a new craft production and distribution plan through linkage with the global e-commercial platform and its purpose is to expand the competitive distribution channels and revitalize sales to improve the current situation by studying in the global e-commercial case and the changes of distribution structure. To that end, the phenomenon was analyzed based on statistical data on production activities of the domestic craft industry announced previously and domestic e-commercial market analysis and freign e-commercial markets that are responding quickly in contrast to domestic were compared. This study presents realistic alternatives to be globalized by comparing and analyzing Amazon, which has created a handmade category with a representative company, Etsy and entered the industry. Thus, based on the analysis so far, it was concluded that the entry into e-commercial platform should be implemented quickly so that high quality domestic handicrafts can be supplied to the online market which is sold worldwide. It is hoped this helps to promote the distribution of Korean artifacts, and to set the direction to global online market and establish strategies at the same time.

‘예(藝)’의 특성을 강조한 일품공예 작품연구 - 본인의 금속공예 작품을 중심으로-

연구배경 기계화와 디지털 정보화로 인해 대량생산이 가능해지고, 빠르고 편리한 세상이 되었지만, 재화의 풍요와는 별개로 인간성 소외 현상이라는 문제가 발생하게 되었다. 이러한 현실에서 인간성의 회복을 끌어낼 수 있는 대안으로 예술의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 예술은 인간에게 어떠한 메시지를 전달하고 개인의 감정을 이끌어내어 순화시키는 순기능을 지니고 있다. 복잡한 사회에서 예술의 역할에 대한 중요성이 부각되면서 일부 예술가들을 필두로 예술의 진정한 가치에 대한 회고와 성찰의 움직임이 일어나고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 예술은 현실과 동떨어져 많은 사람들에게 전해지지 못하고 일부 여유 계층에만 전달되고 있는 현실이다. 이러한 현실에서 공예는 인간의 생활 안에 근접하게 위치하며, 개인의 삶을 풍요롭게 만들고 개인들의 감정을 이끌어 내어 소통할 수 있는 장을 마련한다. 시대적 흐름에 따라 공예분야에서도 제품 공예와 일품 공예라는 영역이 나뉘게 되었다. 제품 공예는 기계의 힘을 빌려 대량생산 가능하며, 일품공예는 작가의 예술세계와 고도의 기술력이 집약된 공예로써 소품종 소량 생산의 특징을 가지고 있다. 본 연구자는 생활 속에서 쓰이는 물건에 예술성을 강조하여 인간의 마음을 풍성하게 만드는 역할을 하는 일품공예를 주제로 연구해 보고자 하였다. 또한 연구를 토대로 금속공예작품으로 연결하여 일품공예의 가치를 재현해보고자 하였다. 연구방법 연구자는 일품공예에 대한 연구를 토대로 ‘예(藝)’의 특성을 강조한 일품공예 작품을 제작하고자 하며, 세상의 근원이라고 생각하는 빛의 생명력과 빛에 의한 인간의 삶과 기억을 형태 연구를 통해 작품으로 표현하고자 한다. 또한 아름다우면서도 실용적인 공예의 장점을 살려 벽 거울, 조명, 오르골, 장신구 등의 기능이 있는 작품을 단일 작품, 혹은 소품종 소량 생산의 방식으로 제작하고자 한다. 연구자는 작품을 통해 관람객 또는 사용자와 소통할 수 있는 계기를 마련하고자 한다. 연구결과 연구자는 세상의 본질이라 생각되는 빛의 형상을 금속공예작품으로 표현하였으며, 이를 통해 작품을 접하는 관람자 또는 사용자가 바쁜 일상에서도 삶의 본질에 대해 돌아볼 수 있는 여유를 제공하고자 하였다. 또한 소품종 소량 생산을 통해 작품의 예술적 가치를 높여서 일품공예의 독보적인 입지를 확립하고자 하였으며, 쓰임이 있다는 공예의 기본정신을 통해 인간의 일상을 풍성하게 만들 수 있는 기회를 제공하고자 하였다. 결론 경쟁과 변화가 일상화되어 여유가 사라져 가는 현대사회에서 인간의 삶에 조그마한 휴식과 위로를 전하는 것이 예술이라면, 공예 역시 공산품의 틀에 예술을 담았다는 개념을 뛰어넘어 기능을 생각지 않고 순수예술의 관점에서 보아도 완벽한 작품으로 인정받을 수 있어야 한다. 연구자는 이것을 일품공예라고 정의하고자 하며, 개인의 감정을 평화롭게 하고 인간의 삶을 행복하게 하는 것이 일품공예 작가의 사명이라고 생각한다. 연구자는 일품공예를 통해 공예의 표현 영역이 더욱 넓어질 것이라고 기대하며, 공예인들의 노력과 사회적 여건의 확보로 공예 시장의 활성화가 이루어지기를 바란다. Background While mechanization and informatization allowed quick and convenient world with mass production and affluent goods, they resulted in the alienation of humanity. In such situation, the importance of arts is emphasized as the solution for deriving the human dignity. Arts deliver messages to human beings and purify the derived personal emotions. In the complicated society, the importance on role of arts is emphasized. In response, some of the artists are carrying out retrospection and introspection on the true value of arts. Nevertheless, arts are distant from the reality and they are limited to only few classes rather than majority of people. In such reality, crafts exist close to daily lives of people and they try to enrich the personal life and arrange the platform for deriving personal emotions and communicating with others. In response to the flow of time, the crafts are divided into industrial craft and masterpiece craft. The industrial craft utilizes the machines for mass production while masterpiece craft integrates the artist’s art world and advanced techniques. Masterpiece craft holds a characteristic of small quantity production with fewer varieties. This study researched on the masterpiece craft which emphasizes the artistic value in daily supplies and enriches hearts of human beings. Also, this study tried to reproduce the value of masterpiece craft by connecting to metal craft works. Methods Based on the researches for the masterpiece craft, this study tried to make the masterpiece craft work by emphasizing on the characteristic of ‘Art’. Also, this study tried to express the life force of light considered as the source of the world and life and memory of human beings from the light through the researches on the form. In addition, this study emphasized the strengths of beautiful and practical crafts and made single works with functions such as wall mirror, lighting, music box, and jewelry in the small quantity. Through the craft works, this study used to arrange an opportunity for communication between audiences and users. Result This study expressed the figure of light regarded as essence of the world in the metal craft work. In the work, this study tried to provide audiences and users a chance to look back on the essence of life in their busy daily life. Also, this study enhanced the artistic value of the craft work through small quantity production and tried to establish the leading position of the masterpiece craft. Furthermore, this study provided an opportunity to enrich the daily lives of people based on the craft’s basic principle of ‘Practicality’. Conclusion In the modern society where leisure disappears as competition and change become daily routine, the arts deliver small break and comfort for people’s lives. In this sense, craft work should go beyond the concept of reflecting the art on the frame of industrial products. Instead, craft work should be regarded as a complete work in the aspect of pure art without considering the function. This study defines such craft work as ‘Masterpiece Craft Work’. This study also believes that the artists involved in masterpiece craft work hold mission of making personal feelings peaceful and making people’s life happier. This study expects that masterpiece craft work would broaden the expression field in craft and hopes that the craft market would be vitalized based on efforts of craft artists and securing of social conditions.

기하학적 패턴을 활용한 조명디자인-꽃봉오리를 매개체로 한 금속공예 작품 중심으로-

연구배경 생명의 영속성이라 함은 살아있는 모든 생물체의 생성과 소멸을 반복하는 과정이다. 본 연구자는 이러한 일련의 과정들을 시각화하기 위하여 꽃봉오리를 매개체로 사용하였다. 본 연구자에게 있어 꽃봉오리는 새로운 탄생과 희망 그리고 생명의 순환 과정을 함축한 상징적인 의미로 해석했다. 이러한 꽃봉오리가 지닌 생명의 영속성을 표현하기 위하여 꽃봉오리의 형태를 기하학의 조형적 요소와 결합하여 패턴화 하고, 그 패턴들은 반복과 중첩을 통해 조명의 빛과 그림자로 새로운 패턴을 형성시켜 시각적 리듬감을 느낄 수 있도록 유도하였다. 조명 속 그림자로 표현된 패턴이 심미감과 환상적 이상 공간으로 감상자들로 하여금 심리적 감동을 주어 내면을 정화시키고자 하는데 목적을 두었다. 본 연구자가 조명기구로 의도하고자 하는 것은 현대인들의 복잡한 삶과 끝없는 경쟁의 일상 속에서 연구자가 유도하는 유토피아를 제공함으로 인해 자연치유적 역할을 하는 계기를 마련하기 위함이다. 연구방법 조명제작의 방법으로는 꽃봉오리의 생명력과 자연의 영속성을 표현하기 위해 기하학의 조형요소인 점, 선, 면을 이용하여 생성과 소멸을 형상화한 패턴을 제작하였다. 기하학 요소들을 반복적으로 나열하여 패턴화 하고 전구의 거리나 조명 빛을 다양하게 연출하면서 빛이 중첩이 되도록 의도하였다. 또한 관절 조명의 구조로 제작하여 형태와 빛의 방향이 자유롭게 움직임 일 수 있도록 하고, 비춰진 그림자의 중첩 효과로 감상자들에게 유희성과 심미성을 동시에 느끼도록 하여 시각적 흥미를 높일 수 있을 것이다. 조명의 역할에 있어 빛에 의한 명암의 밝기, 조명색의 중첩, 마지막으로 조명의 자유로운 위치변화 등으로 그림자의 다양한 효과를 제시하는 것이었다, 거리와 형태에 따라 빛이 다양하게 연출되면서 보여 지는 그림자로 하여금 시각적 환영을 유도하고자 하였다. 연구결과 본 연구의 작품 속에 나타난 패턴은 장식과 기능적 효과로서 장식 그 이상의 의미를 포함해 작품의 가치를 높여주고자 하였고, 반복적 패턴의 중첩과 기능을 갖춘 조명의 융합으로 흥미로움과 새로운 시각적 유희성을 제공하였다. 본 연구자가 제작한 패턴의 조형적 특성으로 점, 선, 면의 기하학의 단위 형태로 조형요소들을 자유롭게 반복하여 구성함으로써 수렴적 구심 공간을 형성한다. 패턴의 중첩은 리듬감과 동시에 생명감을 느낄 수 있도록 하고 반복의 효과를 통해 심리적 안정감을 준다. 결론 이 연구의 목적은 2차원의 정적인 이미지가 다양한 그림자 효과로 인해 동적인 이미지로서 생명력을 가지고 유기적인 형태로 작품을 구현하는 것이다. 끝으로 작품 속 심상과 감상자가 자유라는 공통분모를 가지로 상호 영향을 주고받으며 교감할 수 있도록 모색하는 것이 중요할 것이다. Background Permanence of life is the course that repeats creation and extinction of all living creatures. This study used flower buds as a medium in order to visualize a series of the course. Flower buds were interpreted to me as a symbolic meaning that implies new birth and hope, and a cycle of life. The purpose of this study was produce lighting apparatus with full organic vitality in order to express permanence of life by patterning the formative elements of geometry. In addition, it aimed to introduce visual rhythm and psychological emotion with geometric patterns shown by light and shade of lighting and purify the inside of appreciators by aesthetic sensibility and fantastic ideal space of patterns shown by shade. Flower buds used as a medium of the research work express full vitality and time flow, and the geometric patterns in the work imply permanence of life through infinite revolving continuity and organic movements. This study intended to prepare for a chance to play a role in natural therapy by providing utopia induced by me in daily life of endless competition as well as complicate life of the moderns. Methods As for the method of lighting production, the dot, line and side of geometric formative elements were used to express the full vitality and natural circulation, and produced patterns that embody creation and extinction. It also attempted to make light overlapped by arranging and patterning geometric elements repetitively and producing the distances or light of lightings diversely. Furthermore, it was produced as a structure of joint lamps to make shapes and the directions of light free, and have appreciators simultaneously feel pleasure and aesthetic impression from the overlapped effect of illuminated shade and finally it can raise visual interest. In the formative expression of lighting design utilizing geometric patterns, this study attempted to provide diverse effects by brightness of light and shade by light, overlap of lighting colors, and free location changes of lighting. As light is produced differently according to distance and shape, it induces visual illusion from shown shade. Result The patterns and decoration shown in this research work intend to improve the value of the work including significance more than decoration as functional effects. As the role of aesthetic art and lighting giving aesthetic impression, it offers tension, interest and new visual pleasure from functional combination. Point of formation properties of the study free production pattern, is that it is constituted by the form of units of the geometry of the lines and the surface is repeated a shaped element to form a converging afferent space. In order to feel the pattern of and saengmyeonggam rhythm, and overlay at the same time, it gives a psychological sense of security due to the effect of the repetition. Conclusion In conclusion, two-dimensional static images have full vitality and embody works of organic shapes as dynamic images due to various shade effects. 3D프린터를 활용한 건칠장신구 제작기법의 다양성에 대한 연구 -본인작품의 디자인을 중심으로-

연구 배경 오늘날 장신구가 단순히 장식적인 목적이 아닌 조형예술로써 부각되면서 다양한 물성의 소재가 연구되고, IT 산업의 발전으로 제작 기술 또한 혁명이 일어나고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 전통기법인 옻칠의 건칠 제작 기법에 최첨단 산업인 3D 기술을 접목하여 그동안 수작업으로 제작돼 느린 공정의 한계를 넘어서고, 시간적으로나 경제적 측면에서 능률적인 작업이 될 수 있도록 연구하고자 하였다. 이로 인해 디지털 첨단 기술에 아날로그적 감성을 더하여 독창적이고 혁신적인 디자인 연구에 기여하고자 하였다. 연구 방법 본 연구는 건칠장신구의 과정에서 조형의 틀을 디자인하고 소지를 입히는 과정을 캐드 소프트웨어를 이용한 3D프린터를 사용해 보고자 하는 것이다. 1) 건칠의 특성과 장점 단점을 서술하여 건칠 장신구의 이해를 돕는다. 그리고 3D프린터의 접목이 필요한 이유를 제시한다. 2) 3D프린터를 건칠의 소지 제작에 도입시켜 디자인 프로세스의 과정을 연구한다. 3) 1)과 2) 두 가지 연구로 인해 나타나는 결과들을 분석하여 최적화된 작업과정을 제시한다. 4) 1),2),3) 연구를 토대로 독창적이고 실용적인 건칠장신구를 제작한다. 연구결과 첫째, 건칠 제작을 위한 모형을 제작하는 데 있어서 수공으로 하기가 다소 까다로운 부분(작고 디테일한 예각의 표현)이 3D 소프트웨어의 작업으로 훨씬 섬세하게 표현 되었다. 둘째, 건칠 제작이 가지고 있는 장점인 가벼운 중량을 무게 측정을 통해 비교해 보니 3D프린터도 가벼운 중량이 가능하다는 것을 알 수가 있었다. 셋째, 건칠 제작이 모형을 제작하는데 걸리는 시간이 10일~2주가량으로 다소 긴 시간인데 3D프린터는 1~2일만에 제작이 가능하였다. 또한 디자인을 컴퓨터가 저장하므로 똑같은 디자인이 가능하였다. 넷째, 건칠 기법과 3D프린터를 이용한 옻칠 장신구를 제작했을 때 심미적인 결과물을 도출해 내는 데 있어서 좀 더 섬세하고 디테일한 디자인이 빠른 시간에 가능하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 결론 지금까지 수공예로만 제작된 옻칠의 건칠 기법에 현대 첨단 기술인 3D프린터를 접목한 장신구 제작을 통해서 예술과 제품의 두 가지를 다 만족시킬 수 있는 중요한 대안이 구현되었다. 이와 같이 3D프린터는 빠른 속도로 우리 생활에 가까이 와서 현실에 도입될 것이므로 3D프린터를 이용한 건칠장신구는 앞으로 더욱더 다양하고 독창적인 디자인으로 연구될 것이다. 끝으로, 본 연구인 건칠과 3D프린터의 결합이 또 하나의 장르적 명칭으로 인식될 수 있기를 희망하고 앞으로도 옻칠과 3D프린터를 이용해 작업을 하고자 하는 디자이너들에게 본 연구가 도움이 될 수 있기를 희망한다. Background As accessories are not simply used for decorative purposes, but stand out as plastic arts, various kinds of materials have been studied. Furthermore, a revolution for production skills breaks out due to the development of the IT industry. Accordingly, this research aimed to investigate how to converge 3D technology that is a high-tech industry into a traditional technique, ‘dry-lacquer Exsiccata manufacturing technique of lacquer, overcome a limit of slow processes due to handwork, and efficiently manufacture accessories in time and economic terms. This also tried to contribute to a study on unique and innovative design by adding analog features into a digital high-tech technique. Methods This paper aimed to use a 3D printer using CAD software in designing a modeling frame for dry-lacquer exsiccata accessories and varnishing it with basis material. 1) Describe characters and strong and weak points of Gunchill exsiccate and help to understand dry-lacquer exsiccate accessories. Also, suggest reasons why the 3D printer is necessary to converge two techniques. 2) Study design processes through the introduction of the 3D printer into basis material production for dry-lacquer exsiccate. 3) Analyze results of 1) and 2) researches and suggest the best work process. 4) Produce unique and practical dry-lacquer exsiccate accessories based on 1), 2), and 3) researches. Result First, in producing a model for the production of dry-lacquer exsiccate, several details that were quite particular to be made by hand (make a small and detailed acute angle) were designed in much more delicate ways through 3D software. Second, in comparison to handwork by measuring the light weight of dry-lacquer exsiccate that’s a great merit, it figured out that it was possible to make a lighter-weight accessory using a 3D printer. Third, it used to take 10 days or 2 weeks to produce a model of dry-lacquer exsiccate by hand, but it just took one or two days to make it using the 3D printer. Also, it was possible to design the same thing because a computer saved the design. Last, it was assured that the dry-lacquerl exsiccate technique and 3D printer facilitated more delicate and detailed design for aesthetic lacquered accessories in less time than handwork. Conclusion This paper has implemented a significant alternative to satisfy both of arts and products through the production of accessories designed by the convergence of a modern high-tech technique, 3D printer, into a lacquering dry-lacquer exsiccate technique that has been designed only by hand so far. Likewise, as the 3D printer is introduced into our lives as soon as possible, the dry-lacquer exsiccate accessories made by the 3D printer will be researched in more diverse and unique ways further. As a result, there is a hope that the convergence of dry-lacquer exsiccate and a 3D printer will be regarded as one of generic titles and this paper will be a big help to designers who want to make art works using the lacquer and 3D printer.
