The purpose of this paper is to propose basic data on convection heat-transfer coefficients in Ondol-heated room. Surface temperatures and several temperatures around each inside surface of wall, floor and ceiling composed of heating room are measured vertically in Ondol-heated model rooms, and the vertical temperature profiles could be expressed by nonlinear equation models. Also, the convection heat transfer phenomena are analysed from the nonlinear equation models. In the results, the convection heat-transfer coefficients of Ondol heated space are suggested by the term of temperature difference between each wall surface and room air temperature and by the relationship between Nusselt number and Rayleigh number of dimensionless numbers.

The radiation heat-transfer coefficient is generally used to calculate radiant heat exchange of heating space. The coefficient is evenly adopted in most cases, but it is not correct in actual cases. The purpose of this paper is to grasp the changing aspect of radiation heat-transfer coefficient needed for heating load calculation of radiant heating space. Surface temperatures are measured in an Ondol space, and the coefficients are derived and examined. Gebhart's Absorption Factor Method is used for the calculations of the rates of instantaneous radiant exchange in the room. As the result, it is confirmed that the coefficients are variant according to surface temperatures, and proper coefficients are needed for each of conditions.

The purpose of this paper is to provide an efficient method of operating and designing HVAC systems for reasonable energy consumption in building. Accroding to the conditions of indoor temperature and humidity, and the methods of dividing and grouping the capacity of boiler and refrigerator, the amount of their annual energy consumptions is simulated by using an energy analysis program which is developed in this paper, and opatimal design methods of HVAC system are suggested as well.
