The church is the body of Christ and extended family. Believers are a member of the family. Apostle Paul`s expression of the church and the human body (1 Cor. 12) as well as his emphasis on growth, healing and systemic interconnection (Eph. 4:11), are powerful images of a healthy community working together. God has called us as Christian to minister to one another and to bear one another`s burdens in our church. The church should be a community of helping for many hurting people in this broken world. The lay counseling helps restore the purpose and mission of the church. Trained lay counselor in the church have an important role to play in extending pastoral care to all members of the church. In churches where the pastor believes that all problems can be resolved by only exhortation, or is convinced that the church should avoid any appearance of being a therapeutic community, lay counseling are likely to flounder. A Christian, biblically-based approach for vitalizing lay counseling ministry by nonprofessional is described in this paper, It emphasizes the following: (a) a model that sees the church as a caring community where care, counsel, and healing are natural parts of church life. Specialists for cure are developed out of the context of caring process that encourage each member to find his or her place of ministry in the Body of Christ; (b) comparing caring community with cure model and truth community; (c) the central place of Christian values and intervention in lay counseling. A biblical approach to counseling that explicitly utilizes Christian religious values or perspectives and intervention makes unique contributions to counseling effectiveness; (d) lay counseling and discipleship training. Lay counseling enables counselees to reach their fullest potential and to become involved in growth as disciplers for Jesus Christ; (e) lay counseling and cell ministry; (f) lay counseling and the need for the church to provide prevention.

기독교상담 방법론으로서 예수의 비유 고찰

This paper proposes a need for the development of a verbal intervention tool that could be utilized in Christian counseling. As one of the suggestions, the paper argues that the parables of Jesus can be a necessary resource. It takes a look the characteristics of parables and their interpretation related to Christian counseling. It pays particular attention to metaphoric aspect of the parables, looking at the recent studies on metaphor and its use in counseling. Metaphor is no longer seen merely as a rhetorical technique; it influences human beings’ lives as it encompasses their thoughts and experience, which shows counseling intervention through metaphor. Next, this paper draws three elements revealed by research on the parables of Jesus and metaphor, and proposes how they relate to Christian counseling. First, it emphasizes that figure brings about cognitive insight. Both the parables of Jesus and metaphor help with cognitive change and reorganization. Figure can give insight to the counselee through God’s perspective and will. Second, figure is useful in breaking habits that have been shaped through desires which contains the roots of sin. Figure approaches to counselee profoundly with deeper understanding. Third, just as the parables of Jesus were demonstrated through Jesus’s personality and life, a Christian counselor should have foundation on God’s faith and attitude to make and deliver the figure. 논문은 기독교상담에서 활용 가능한 언어적 개입의 도구가 개발될 필요성을 제안하고, 구체적 방법 중의 하나로 예수의 비유를 생각해 본다. 우선 기독교상담과 관련한 예수 비유의 성격과 비유 해석의 흐름을 살핀다. 그리고 비유 중에서 은유에 초점을 두어 현대학자들의 은유연구와 상담에서의 은유활용의 실례를 찾아본다. 은유는 수사학적 기법으로만이 아니고 인간의 사고와 경험을 담아 삶에 영향을 끼치고 있다고 평가된다. 이것이 상담적 개입의 근거로 작용하는 것을 보게 된다. 다음은 예수의 비유와 현대은유 연구를 통해서 드러난 세 가지 요소를 구분하고 기독교상담 방법으로 활용 가능하다는 것을 강조한다. 첫째, 비유는 인지적 통찰을 불러일으킨다. 비유와 은유는 인간 인지의 조성과 변화에 도움을 주고 있다. 기독교상담에서 비유를 통해 하나님의 관점과 뜻이 내담자의 삶과 생각에 통찰로 작용하도록 할 수 있다. 둘째, 비유는 생각 그 이면의 갈망으로 인해 습관으로 굳어진 내면을 탐색하고 그 틀을 깨는데 유용하다. 비유는 죄의 속성과 연결된 숨고 저항하는 갈망의 분별과 변화에 도움을 준다. 셋째, 예수의 언어적 비유가 그의 인격과 삶으로 표현되었듯이 기독교상담자는 비유를 만들고 그 내용을 전달하는 전 과정에 하나님께 대한 믿음의 태도와 삶을 근거로 삼아야 한다.

직면에 대한 이해와 기독교 상담자의 준비

The purpose of this study is to provide basis for a caring confrontation to Christian Counseling. First, this study try to understand several kinds of confrontation: confrontation in the counseling process, confrontation with past, confrontation in Reality Dynamic Counseling, and confrontation in Cognitive counseling. The technique of confrontation is renowned in Adlerian , Gestalt, existential, cognitive and R.E.B.T. therapies, but all therapies sometimes use confrontation. Confrontation involves making a counselee face his weaknesses and inconsistency. Although confrontational techniques are sometimes controversial because they are intrusive, therapists who use confrontation justify it by claiming that it can effect changes in behavior. Specially, confrontation in Christian Counseling is important because Christian Counselors want to help counselee find biblical solutions. They encourage change for God’s glory primarily but also for the counselee’s own benefit. Christian counselors speak the truth, but speak it in love (Eph. 4:15, 29). Second, this study try to find what readiness of Christian Counselor is. As Christian counselors give counsel to counselee from the Scripture and do not confront counselee with their own ideas or the ideas of others. For that reason, counselor has to discern that which may be found in the Bible. Our standard is truth and our judge is Scripture. Good discernment and moral accountability should be practiced among Christian counselors.

자기중심의 인간이해에서 영혼을 복원하기

Perspective of human being affects counseling. Counseling is a field to help a person, and the perspective a counselor has on human beings becomes the starting point of the theory and practice of counseling. Christian counseling is an activity that seeks to help people based on the unique and important human understanding. Two aspects are discussed to track what perspective of human being is in practice in Christian counseling. One is “self”, the core concept of general explanation of human being, and the other is “soul”, the essence of Christianity in human understanding. This paper summarizes the perspective on human being behind the term “self” and what kind of influence self-centered philosophy has in counseling. It also investigates what human understanding was missed out in the process of applying “self”in Christian counseling. To identify the perspective of human being, this paper investigates human being’s constition and character in the Bible. According to the Bible, human beings are created with bodies and souls and has a holistic personality. It confirms that the understanding of “soul” is necessary and crucial in Christian counseling. Christianity emphasizes that human being’s “soul” is the essence of the person and requires recovery of this part. The recovery of the soul is possible through relationship with God, other people, and oneself. The soul care has to be reconstructed and developed for this generation. 인간에 대한 관점은 상담에 영향을 미친다. 상담은 사람을 만나서 돕고자하는 현장이고 상담자가 어떤 인간관을 가지고 있느냐 하는 것이 상담의 이론과 실제를 이끄는 출발점이 되기 때문이다. 기독교상담은 기독교가 제시하는 독특하고도 중요한 인간 이해에 근거해서 사람을 돕고자 하는 활동이다. 이 연구는 기독교상담에서 실제로 작용하는 인간관이 무엇인지 추적해보기 위해 두 가지 측면에서 논의를 진행한다. 하나는 인간에 대한 일반적설명의 핵심 개념인 자기(self)이고 다른 하나는 기독교의 인간 이해의 본질인 영혼(soul)이다. 자기라는 용어 이면의 인간관을 정리하고 자기 중심의 철학이 상담에 끼친 영향을 살펴본다. 기독교상담이 자기를 언급하는 과정에서 놓친 인간 이해가 무엇인지 찾아본다. 논문은 기독교상담에 적용되는 인간관을 위해 성경이 말하는 인간의 구성과 성격을 구분한다. 성경은 인간이몸과 영혼으로 창조되었고 전인적인 성격을 가졌다고 증거한다. 자기가 담지 못하는 영혼에 대한 이해가 기독교상담에서 필요하고 중요한 것임을 확인한다. 기독교는 인간의 영혼이 그 사람의 본질과 중심이기에 회복을 강조한다. 영혼의 회복은 하나님, 사람, 자기 자신과의 관계를 통해 가능하다. 영혼돌봄의 전통에서 도움을 받고 발전시켜 이 시대의 사람들의 영혼을 위한상담이 정립되기를 소망한다.

ACTS 신학운동과 신앙운동의 이해와 의의

1968년에 싱가폴에서 아세아교회 지도자들이 아세아지역을 복음화 하기 위한 전도대회를 열었고, 그 대회에서 ACTS를 건립하기로 결정했다. ACTS는 설립 자체가 전도대회에서 시작되었으며, 아세아 교회의 염원을 담아 아세아를 복음화하기위한 복음주의적, 국제적, 교회 연합적 성격의 신학교로 세워졌다. 이런 학교의 설립취지는 이 시대에 하나님이 원하시는 ACTS의 모습이 어떠해야 하는가를 보여준다. 무엇보다 ACTS는 세상을 창조하시고 섭리하시며 그리스도 안에서 구원하시는 하나님의 역사경륜을 감당한다. 다시 말해 ACTS는 아세아의 죽어가는 심령들에게 하나님의 죄 사함의 복음을 전하고 구원 얻게 하는 것을 주요사명으로 삼고 있다. 그리고 이런 복음화를 위한 신학교육과 신앙훈련을 이루어 가는 것이 ACTS가 담아야 하는 내용이다

존 웨슬리의 설교에 나타난 사역의 강조점

웨슬리의 설교에서 드러나는 사역의 특징은 그 자신과 다른 사람들로 하여금 새 생명을 얻고 하나님의 말씀에 순종하도록 한 데에 있다. 이것은 그가 그의 삶을 통해 참다운 구원이 어떻게 가능한지 고민하는 가운데 체험했던 회심에서 본질적으로 시작되었으며, 이후에 그는 끊임없이 하나님 말씀을 연구하며 설교하고 가르치기를 지속하면서 다른 사람들을 구원으로 인도하는 교회사의 위대한 인물로 설수 있었다. 웨슬리 자신의 삶이 증거하고 있듯이 사역을 담당하는 사람이 확고한 구원의 진리 위에 서야 한다는 것을 확인한다. 또한 다른 사람들 가르치고 돕는 내용에 있어서도 믿음으로 구원받고 의롭게 되는 것이 가장 핵심적인 출발점이고 더불어 말씀에 올바르게 순종하면서 하나님 사랑과 이웃사랑을 행하도록 가르치는 것이 사역의 본질이요 핵심이라는 것을 웨슬리의 설교와 순종의 삶이 가르쳐주고 있다.

기독교상담에서 신학복원을 위한 제언

논문은 기독교상담의 이론과 실제에서 신학이 조금 더 중요하고 본질적인 역할을 해야 한다는 점을 강조한다. 신학의 정의와 개념을 통해 신학의 보편성과 필요성을 확인한다. 전문신학과 일반 그리스도인의 신학이 상호 도움을 주는 가운데 신학적 성찰이 모든 그리스도인의 삶과 사역에 필요하다. 기독교상담과 신학이 관련되는 영역을 우선 기독교 세계관의 관점에서 살펴본다. 신학이 기독교 세계관을 형성하게 하고 기독교 세계관은 적어도 세 가지 영역에서 기독교상담에서 주도적 기능을 수행한다. 인간과 상황에 관한 분별이 기독교 세계관으로 가능해진다. 기독교 세계관은 상담자가 활용하는 이론과 실제 이면의 가정과 철학을 통찰하여 올바른 활용을 하게 한다. 또한 논문은 가치관이 신학에 근거해야 하고 이것이 상담에서 개입되어야 한다는 점을 강조한다. 마지막으로 신학이 상담에 적용되는 과정을 세분해 본다. 준비된 이론, 실천, 이론, 그리고 다시 실천이라는 흐름을 제안하고 그 출발에서 마지막까지 신학적 성찰을 개입한다. 논문은 정체성이란 주제를 중심으로 이 네 단계가 기독교상담에서 어떻게 적용되는지 설명한다. The paper emphasizes that theology should play a more important and fundamental role in the theory and practice of Christian counseling. It confirms the universality and necessity of theology through the definition and concept of theology. Theological reflection is necessary for all Christians while professional theologians and lay Christians mutually support each other in their theological understanding. Moreover, the areas related to Christian counseling and theology are examined from the perspective of a Christian worldview. Theology shapes the Christian worldview, and the Christian worldview plays a leading role in Christian counseling in at least three areas. First of all, discernment about human beings and situations becomes possible through a Christian worldview. The Christian worldview provides insight into the theories, assumptions, and philosophies counselors utilize enabling correct application. Furthermore, it states that Christian values should also be grounded in theology and that this is involved in counseling. Finally, it breaks down the process of applying theology to counseling. It suggests a cycle of prepared theory, practice, theory, and practice, highlighting the need for theological reflection from start to finish. Then, this paper tries to apply this four stages in Christian counseling, focusing on the theme of identity.
