UV curable resins have many advantages comparing to solvent based coating materials. The coating layer of UV curable resin is highly transparent and experience relatively low volume change after curing. Most of all, UV curable resins cure very fast, which is important for good productivity. Due to these advantages, UV curable resins have been used for various applications such as display panel, biochips, camera lens and prism. Besides, it can be used as an adhesive for flexible electronic devices. As an example, a very thin circuit layer fabricated on the silicon or glass wafer can be delaminated to be transferred and attached on the flexible substrate. UV curable resin can be coated previously on the flexible film to fix the circuit layer as an adhesive layer. In case of this application, the adhesive layer should be very even on the substrate because the thin circuit layer can be very sensitive to the strain. The uniformity of the coating layer will depends on many process parameters. In this study, the uniformity of the coating layer are investigated for different temperature conditions of the elements of the coating systems including coating bar, base plate etc. The temperature of the elements of the coating system is found to affect the coating quality significantly after a series of coating experiments. When the coating elements are heated to be adequate temperature, the uniformity of the coating layer becomes better.
