        The purpose of this study was to manipulate the component of confidence found in Keller’s ARCS model to enhance the motivation and academic achievement of undergraduate students enrolled in an online course at Chosun university using GVA2000 software delivery. This study was conducted over 4-week period with an initial sample of 78 total students. Two tests were used to measure motivation and academic achievement : (a) the Course Interest Survey(CIS), and (b) weekly quiz. SPSS 12.0 was used to analyze and the following results were obtained. The results of homogeneous test showed no statistically significant difference on motivation and academic achievement. However, the results indicated that the treatment group showed statistically greater gains than the control group in terms of learner motivation on the CIS. In terms of academic achievement, the treatment group outachieved the control group on all of the individual post-test measures and on the overall aggregate mean academic achievement score. Therefore there was also a statistically significant difference in learner motivation and academic achievement as measured on both tests. This research study suggests the feasibility of improving overall learner motivation and academic achievement through external conditions such as systematically applied confidence strategies. The research further supports claims about the effectiveness of the ARCS model as a viable tool for enhancing online learner motivation and academic achievement. What was unclear in this study was whether individual subsections of the ARCS model,such as confidence, can be independently manipulated.

        The Purpose of this study was to examine the effect of career barrier and career decision-making self-efficacy on career decision level. To this end, data was collected using instruments to measure career barrier, career decision-making self-efficacy, career decision level of 523 junior college students in Korea. The results of this study are as follows : First, the factors of their gender and majors have no a significant influence on the career decision levels. Second, as a result of investigating the influence of the career barrier factors on the career decision level, it seemed to explain account for 34.4% of career decision making levels and the lack of interest, the lack of vocational information, future anxiety, physical complex had a effect with the career decision level. Third, as a result of investigating the influence of the career decision-making self-efficacy factors on the career decision level, career barriers seemed to explain account for 16.2% of career decision making levels and the goal selection had a positive relation and problem solving had a negative relation with the career decision level.

        The purpose of this study was intended to analyze a trend of the CTL and to suggest activation of it in Junior College. To accomplish the purpose of this research, it was conducted the survey about CTL of 148 junior colleges. The findings from this study are as follows: First, CTL in junior college was used the title as Center for teaching and learning. Second, the organization of human resources of CTL in junior college was made up teaching support, learning support and media support. Third, CTL in junior college was independent department in an administrative organization. Forth, the researchers of CTL in junior college were taken training once or twice a year. Fifth, the programs which were provided in CTL in junior college were the workshop and seminar related to teaching and learning.
